And my speed test score is imaginary? Not real? Can't even multi task? Now that's a weak straw man even for you.
Agree. I like technology so I’m always interested in seeing and sometimes trying new features on some of the android devives. However for my own personal daily driver I use iOS because it gets out of the way and lets me do what I need to do. Same with my computers although I’m not that interested in trying out a windows computer.

how is this ‘’pitting new Samsung note against iPhone x’’ when they do not mention anything Samsung can do?
Did I miss something?

And I do not mean saying ''it is powerful’' as pitting agains. Especially with almost 20% slower benchmarks on latest and greatest from Samsung, compared to last years iPhone X.

On the other hand, I wish iPhone also had their version of ‘’note’’ because it can be really handy for making notes and scribbles

how is it legal for Samsung to put Apple logo and apple products in their ads?

People who talk about inferiority complex, for the billionth time, Apple did the same with Microsoft. Also, Samsung IS inferior to Apple. Remember, people remember Samsung as an appliance maker. TVs, ACs, cameras, and dumbphones . They are not a "tech" company as in a software/platform.

Don’t they realise (clearly not actually) the making all these dozens of ads mocking the iPhone just makes them look pathetic, childish and petty?

This entire thread is sooo misguided. It's not about Apple's iPhone X vs Samsung's Note 9. It's about the OS. Anyone who purchases a device without considering their security is a fool. You could not pay me to run Android on a mobil device. What the hell good are features that give all your data to every 3rd party snake in the world. No thanks. Color me jaded. I'm not leaving iOS anytime.

It's about the OS stupid. ;)

Shame that you have to wait for this, other companies have been using Skype for a decade. :D

We used to use Skype, but we moved everything to iOS. Much better and more cost effective.

Sure, top phone vendor in the world. Terrible.

[doublepost=1533960857][/doublepost]

You usually make smarter comments than this. "Nobody" wants a stylus?? Failling sales? Samsung is the top phone vendor in the world. Apple just dropped to number 3.

Yes, a stylus is not popular with mass consumers and yes the S9 did not sell well at all, neither will the Note. Samsung can peddle cheap junk all day if they want, but we are talking flagships here considering they are going after Apple.

Maybe not in your freight industry but in other industries such as finance, mortgage, real estate, etc. it's a sought after feature to capture customer signature. Just look at the popularity of pen based Surface type devices and even iPads.

On a tablet, I get it. On a phone, it’s just kind of silly. Again, it may be popular amongst tech nerds, but definitely not regular consumers. The Note doesn’t sell well at all.

Even the S9 beats the iPhone X in everyday tasks when it comes to speed and it does it with a less powerful CPU. ;) Not to mention the terrible Ram management on the X, it can't even keep a few apps open without them reloading. On my S9 I can keep over 10 apps open and they will stay in memory.

That’s too bad. My X is better than the S9 in everyday tasks and has no problem with RAM management.

1. Some people do like and want a stylus
2. It has the snapdragon 845 chipset, the latest Android processor, and phones with that chipset couldn't even outscore the iPhone X so why the hell is it a surprise it couldn't outperform the X? And its 2000 points faster than last years Note 8 but of course everyone is kinda bias for Apple anyway
3. Regardless, everyone knows that geekbench doesn't translate to real life. You're not gonna a significant difference in performance between the X and the Note 9 anyway

1. Most people don’t. They are not popular with normal consumers. The Note doesn’t sell wel at all.
2. It just surprises me that a year later and they still can’t outperform and old iPhone. They should upgrade their hardware then.
3. Once Apple overtook Android phones in regards to geekbench scores, those scores didn’t matter anymore. Before that, they were everything.

Anyone remember when android phones used to crush iPhone benchmarks? No one cared then lol it was all about performance and optimization. Now is
It's all the sites cling too. I suppose it adds to the herd mentality. All I know is in real world speed test the iPhone X loses to the S9 and Note 8.

The difference was that, despite crushing iPhone in performance benchmarks (many were optimized for being tested btw) they still performed worse than the iPhone. Now the iPhone is also sporting a faster CPU than the competition.

Agreed. The OS could be decades ahead in features (it isn't) and it wouldn't do me any good if it had the same level of security as current Android phones. I can't imagine getting so excited about some feature that I'd be willing to risk hackers getting to my bank accounts through my phone, so there's no way I'm using Android.

And yes, nobody wants a stylus for a phone.

You're totally wrong there. Most people that I know who buy a Galaxy Note -- since the Note 1, actually -- buy it because of the stylus support. I know networking engineers who draw the first drafts of of their network diagrams on that device. And I also know people who shot pictures -- in a laboratory, for example -- and circle and mark specific areas of the picture and write notes on them. It's a useful tool for people who actually WORK with those devices.

But you're right, it's not for the millennial StarBucks crowd.

Don't normally post just kind of stalk around. But I wanted to add my thoughts on this as I think these ads are horrible at doing what they where designed to do. See I think people forget, the whole talking trash about your competitor is okay by me as long you get your point across. When watching these ad's I learned that iOS 12 will have Face Time with up to 32 people, what I didn't learn was anything at all about the Galaxy Note. These ads don't do anything but belittle Apple but in doing so let the consumer know about cool features, like Face ID and even then the come back for Samsung is so weak. It can do that too doesn't tell me anything about it.

Remember back in the day, Hi I'm a Mac and I'm a PC ad's. Same kind of thing, trying to put down your competitor but those at least had the Mac talking about what it could do over PC. It gave you compelling reasons to buy a Mac, like being more secure and so forth. I just don't understand Samsung's marketing in this. The add makes them look bad, not because they are talking bad but because they aren't really hyping their product. They are just giving you features the iPhone can do and not really showing theirs. I mean how cool would it be if he was in their talking to the ingenius guy and whipped out his Galaxy Note and unlocked it with his face and said yeah mine can do that. That would be good marketing, but see it doesn't work as well as Face ID so they don't want you to really see it in action. And that is why I don't buy it. They just seem insulting to me because its just trash talk with nothing to back up the Note.

No, it’s not for the millions of consumers crowd. It’s for a small niche group of people. That’s fine that it’s for you, I just don’t think it’s a sellable feature worthy of a negative ad. The majority of consumers do not use a stylus on their phone.

I think sales speak for themselves. People couldn't care less about a stylus.

I geniuely don’t understand why anyone would want to use a stylus for their phone.

It definitely has its uses. However, the number of people whose workflows make the note stylus an indispensable part of their daily lives are likely more in the minority. Heck, I can get third party styluses to work with my iPhone if I feel so inclined.

I can’t believe how cringeworthy and embarrassing these ads are. Samsung is the petulant child of the tech world. Notice that Apple generally doesn’t stoop to these lows; they’re moves of the underdog.

Yes, professionals are by definition a niche group of people.

I’ve tried a stylus and thought the only reason I’d want one is for drawing. Which I personally don’t do. At all. For those that do I’m not sure it would be very functional on a phone. I suspect not.
