The fact you are posting a one off speedtest with no comparison at the same location of a QC modem phone shows you do not understand the subject you are debating. Its like arguing with a brick wall. Good thing there are actual knowledgeable people on Youtube that can see the Intel modem is inferior, no number of excuses you come up with will change the fact. Have a nice day :)

You keep claiming the intel modem is inferior, my speed test shows that is untrue.

The YouTube video I posted that you chose to ignore shows a 2017 iPhone with a 2017 pixel xl 2. There was only a minimal difference of about 5Mbps.

Here are the screenshots:

Perhaps this subject is one you are unable to grasp.

You showed me a note 8 that is capable of going over 100Mbps, I showed you an iPhone X capable of doing the same thing. You know because your assertion that intel modems are trash, it’s false.

Don’t know why that bothers you so much.

Your assertion isn’t based on undisputed proof when you keep comparing a 2017 model to a 2018 one. That’s again pretty biased.
Saying the iPhone is capable of 100mbs download proves nothing. Im sure it can do that easily. The point is a Note 8 would likely get 200mbps in the exact same conditions. This is because the Intel modem is inferior to the QC one, its not even up for dispute, its just a pure fact.

There are multiple videos that show the Note 8 beating the iPhone X with close to double the download speeds. I grasp the subject very well.

Absolutely spanks the iPhone in that Vid. But no i'm sure FFR will have an excuse as to why it cant be true lol

And right there is the difference between me and a lot of diehard Apple fans, i am not loyal to any brand, i could care less about how much money a company makes or how many units it sells, its completely irrelevant to me. What i care about is having the best possible piece of hardware in my hands, the brand is irrelevant, i own a lot of Apple gear as well.

Samsung might not sell as many phones as Apple but the Note 9 is still much better value for the money and is the better phone for my needs. It has superior battery life, superior LTE speeds and reception, superior storage options, a Headphone jack and gives me the maximum amount of cross platform flexibility.

Uh huh. Cross platform flexibility...Your posts sounds like a page out of a Samsung’s ad

Sure your an Apple fan.

You might not think sales mean don’t mean anything but just ask the BlackBerry, Nokia, motorola, and HTC fan.

No sales equals no further devices. Simple as that.

Note 9 doesn’t stand a chance against the iPhone Xplus.

I don't like to be locked into an eco system where I don't have a choice of hardware. Not sure what the issue is there. I use Apple laptops because they play nice with all my other devices that are not made by Apple. The iPhone, not so much. There was a time where I was completely invested in the Apple ecosystem btw, so I speak from experiance. I would also be very open to moving back to an iPhone if they added some basic home screen customisation and opened up the eco system a little.

Well if Samsung get to the point that they can no longer sell phones then I will find the next best thing. Until then they are making the best phones on the market and i'm going to take advantage of it. I could care less if Samsung, Apple or even Google go out of business. Im a consumer not a shareholder.

No I didn't I showed that the Note 8 is capable of much better speeds(and by extension so are the S8 and S8+), way above that 5mbps you thought to be the ultimate difference between the slow intel modem and a S835. The subject was never "which phone can go above 100mbps".
Also there is only a 5 months difference between the iphone x and the Galaxy S9 not 1 year difference like you keep implying with that insistence on 2017 vs 2018.
The iphone x can hardly be considered a 2017 phone when it was launched in November so for the most part of it's life time it was a 2018 phone.

Actually you showed one you tube video where the Samsung note 8 was faster than the iPhone X due to T-Mobile’s network in the US not the intel modem like you keep falsely claiming. That’s disingenuous and you know it.

Yup 5Mbps difference in real world testing.

No one really cares if you want an iPhone or not or your reasons behind it. Your on Apple forum where the majority of users here all have iPhones.

Use what you want.

You just don’t need to validate your reasons in almost every post.

Apples ecosystem is great it is one of the reasons I’m on iOS. if you see it as a negative then iPhones iPads and macs aren’t really for you, and they haven’t been for a very long time.

Tomato tomatoe.

https://9to5mac.com/2015/12/07/apple-maps-usage-numbers/

Apple maps used three times as google maps as of 2015.

I do use google services as well, but do default to Apple’s own offerings whenever I can.

“According to a report” ... rather vague isn’t it?

Anyhow I’m not saying Apple maps isn’t used more than Google maps. I’m just saying don’t underestimate people’s urges to replace first party apps. The mere fact that Google has a third of the pie in 2015 is pretty good considering it’s not preinstalled.

In my circle, we all have switched from using Apple Maps to Google Maps.

Just want to point out that the MacOs ecosystem is less closed than iOS. In fact I wouldn’t lump iOS with MacOS. They feel distinctly different

Actually if you click the source in the link, it’s not vague:

“Apple says its mapping service is now used more than three times as often as its next leading competitor on iPhones and iPads, with more than 5 billion map-related requests each week. “

http://www.betaboston.com/2015/12/07/apple-maps-once-a-laughingstock-now-dominates-iphones/

And this was three years ago.

Actually most people just use the first party apps that come with the phone.

After the recent privacy scandal with google,
I stopped using all google services, including google maps, gmail, google search and google translate.

I’m not the only one.

That's why it's impressive that they only take on 3x as many requests for being first party. You would think the number would be much higher than that.

Scandal is very subjective. Following the crying from people that don't pay attention, I followed the tutorials to disable the so-called tracking features. I soon learned that I had already disabled everything. So unsurprisingly what this comes down to is users being naive. Granted, it's not entirely their fault as most companies will obscure the definition of tracking disablement.

What after all the articles that was said about Apple maps at that point. This was three years ago, Your grasping at straws.

If your read the article. Google still tracks you after you do all of that.

Only one naive is the one thinking google actually stops tracking you.

For that reason I no longer use any of google services.

Iphone x was launched at the very end of 2017. It's got 2 months of 2017.
This excuses are getting ridiculous.

Qualcomm announced the S835 in 2016 so it's their 2016 modem.
And that's basically a best case scenario for the iphone when you look at other tests like this where the S835 can perform much better.

Yes, but there is still almost a year between the two phones releases.

This is correct. I have 300 dwn speed in my home. Samsung devices would always be minimum above 250 to a little above 300 max, depending on location in my home.

iOS devices would max out at 200-210 and that's only the 8+ and X I've seen do that, and only in the same room as the wifi router. Anywhere else in the home, they are reaching about 178 max and averaging 130.

This was ALWAYS an issue with iOS devices, as I used to be a cable guy and ran countless speedtests on people's devices.

you're sure that I am grasping at straws? 1.67B clicks 3 years ago is not exactly a small number even if it's the same today.

FYI - you're a prime candidate for social engineering.

You changed the subject to social engineering.
Not much to say.

It's the same subject.

Social engineering because you think Google is the only one that tracks your data even if you "disabled" it. Practically every online service can track you in one way or another even if you're anonymous. Open up network tools in your browser and inspect.

Was going to explain further, but I realized that this is going off topic, and you're technically inexperienced to have a healthy debate. No point in continuing further.

Ofcourse.
Anyone and everyone can track so give google a pass.

Right technically inexperienced ;).

If you could have a healthy debate you would have.

Anyone reading my past posts can probably guess I’m not exactly an iFanBoy, but... let me ask Samsung this about their new whatever phone that’s supposed to be so powerful.

Is it powerful enough to run any of my iOS apps that I’ve already paid for? Is it powerful enough to use iCloud natively so I don’t have to move everything over and HOPE it all works the way it’s supposed to? Is it powerful enough to open all my notes stored in Notes, all my writing stored in Pages, all the Keynote and Numbers files I have? Is it powerful enough to run Garage Band?

No? Then ESS TEA EPH EWE, Samsung. (GOD I HATE CENSORSHIP). Your latest phone might briefly have an edge in raw computing power, but until you find a way to let me run all my existing apps, I AM NOT BLOODY INTERESTED.

Samsung today uploaded new ads in its ongoing "Ingenius" series that makes fun of the Apple Genius Bar and pits the iPhone X against Samsung's Galaxy devices.

In the first ad, called "Power," a customer tells the "genius" that the Galaxy Note is "really powerful." "You know what I think is powerful?" the genius replies. "Being able to unlock your phone with your face." "It does that too," the customer replies.

The genius bar then points out that on iOS 12, you can FaceTime up to 32 people. "Why would I ever want to do that though?" asks the customer.

In the second ad, entitled "Pen," a customer comes into the "ingenius bar" and asks about the difference between the Apple Pencil and the S Pen that comes with the Galaxy Note 9. "Well, the Apple Pencil only works on the iPad," says the genius. "Okay, so what can I use on my phone?" asks the customer. "Uh... your finger?" replies the genius.

Samsung's newest ads in the "Ingenius" series are promoting the Galaxy Note 9, a device that it launched just yesterday. The 6.4-inch Galaxy Note 9 is equipped with a Snapdragon 845 processor, which has been bested by the iPhone X, along with an iris scanner at the front and a fingerprint sensor at the back.

It works with the S Pen stylus, and while some rumors have suggested Apple is exploring an Apple Pencil option for the iPhone, it's not clear if that's something that will ever happen.

Samsung has shared several ads in the Ingenius series, making fun of the iPhone X's notch, lack of SD card, lack of multitasking capabilities, and the fact that there's no headphone jack, while highlighting the the faster LTE speeds and camera in the Galaxy S9.

Your not making much sense.

You seem fixated on years. A device could be released on Dec 31 2017 and another on Jan 1 2018. You would consider them a year apart??????? :)
