Doesn't matter if you have synthetic benchmarks of a super computer when it's still running a dumb OS that still doesn't allow placing app icons anywhere on home screen, can't swipe away and do something else during incoming call, doesn't have proper background multitasking, doesn't have VP9 (YouTube) hardware decoding, no split screen multitasking, no precision pen input, etc.

It does if people can still get their work done on it. Which they do.

As if Qualcomm hasn't poured millions and millions into R&D for their own chips? The only difference here is Samsung is sourcing their silicon. I don't fully disagree with the statement, because I love Apple's hardware and software, but regardless of how much Apple has devoted to their R&D, the real-world use will vary very little from device-to-device this day regardless of OS. In the end, I'd take Apple's chip engineered in-house and optimized hand-in-hand with the software any day, but benchmarks are what they are, raw numbers. They are not indicative of the experience various users will have, and in 2018, the experiences will be mostly negligible.

Difference is Apple knows what hardware it’s going into. If Snapdragon made a phone with optimized version of android it wouldn’t need these extra cooling features and other nonesense. Apple knows the entire line, so the chip is perfect for what it eventually is used in.

And despite snapdragons R&D the consensus since the 64bit A7 has seemed to be that Apple is a year ahead. I do agree at this point thought that it’s OS more than speed that compels people.

This ad is a standard upward attack strategy used by anybody who has studied marketing or has earned an MBA.

Pepsi has used this strategy against Coke countless times.

Once again, Marketing 101.
Interesting that everyone I know with an MBA is failing or barely making it in business. It's the college drop-outs that are successful business-wise.

Tim Cook earned his MBA from Duke University.

Jeff Williams, who replaced Tim Cook as COO also has an MBA from Duke.

Isabel Ge Mahe, VP and Managing Director of Greater China, rebooted sales in China. She has one from UC Berkeley.

Look I'm not anti-Apple here, I love the company and literally just said I'd take their chip all day, but do you want me to go pull the Antutu benchmark where the $530 OnePlus 6 beats the iPhone X using a Snapdragon 845 that isn't water-cooled? Again, the differences here are going to be negligible in real-world use.

I will absolutely agree that Apple has the preferred chip and optimized software combination, but you're not going to convince me that users will notice an impactful difference at the end of the day in this era of the smartphone.

Still better than Apple’s ads but that’s not to do. However Apple wins here because Samsung puts them on a pedestal.

Imagine if Apple actually got their own marketing together.

I would certainly hope a 2018 flagship could compete with a 2017 one. I do agree though most wont notice. It doesn’t change the fact that most seem to think Apple is a year ahead. Which has helped enable Face ID, which some have said is two years ahead.

Look at the rest. The advancements in chip tech have helped Apple in more than just speed. I have a habit of not finishing my thoughts before I post.
Haha that's fine, I do the same. To be fair, we might be closer to being on the same page than we think because I definitely agree Apple is ahead of the curve.

But but but the radio commercial said the Galaxy S9 was the fastest smartphone ever this has to be fake news /s

In all reality though, if I’m not mistaken the two year old iPhone 7 still matches it in terms of single core performance. Samsung is falling pretty far behind by technology they seem to think is ‘inferior’.

Are you talking about how Apple intentionally throttles Qualcomms chips so they dont look better then Intels?

And since everyone is so stuck on "geekbench" and "benchmarks." Ill leave this here...

What I wouldn't give to see an advertisement that only promoted how good they claim their product is. Bashing the competition just makes me refuse to buy anything. Oh, and this also goes for things like political campaigns. People making these ads really need to grow up.
