I’d be curious if the Note 9 S-pen works on the other Galaxy devices. If not, aren’t they in the same situation as Apple?

Didn't Samsung recently say that Galaxy sales weren't as great as they expected?

So is this how they plan to fix that?

I mean... they've been running these kinds of ads for a while. The current "notch haircut guy" made its debut almost a year ago.

And Galaxy sales still slumped. Hmmmm...

Are you talking about how Apple intentionally throttles Qualcomms chips so they dont look better then Intels?

And since everyone is so stuck on "geekbench" and "benchmarks." Ill leave this here...

I don’t really care about the modem debate, although to be fair I’m on Verizon so I’ve always gotten the “better” chip.

+ I don’t really love geekbench and I HATE Speedtest like those. I hate apples animations, from the day of release I had “reduce motion on”. SO many times when the iPhone loses its because of its animations, the tester will note it’s because of the animations, and the tester never once mentions they can be turned off. This one looks like it was RAM. Didn’t a bunch of people show that iOS 11 was horrible at management when compared to the 10? If so hopefully 12 fixes it.

You can also turn off animations on android. I hate any "speed test" tbh.

Those were both stupid. Iris Scanner does not compare to Face ID. It isn’t even close to the same level of security and the tech is no where close. I like advertisements like this at times but this feels like Samsung is just trying way too hard. These ads simply will not sway people away from iOS.

Perhaps the reason why sales for Samsung phones is down may be the fact no one knows what they offer compared to Apple, Apple advertising shows what they offer were Samsung shows were Apple is lacking.

Is it me or is the point of advertising your product showing and telling the consumer what your product dose.

Why I still use an iPhone, just don’t know what Samsung phone dose.

Samsung seems to Advertise Different

I assumed you could due to the superior customization. In most tests though it does seem to be that androids are less bothersome and time consuming than iOS.

Samsung today uploaded new ads in its ongoing "Ingenius" series that makes fun of the Apple Genius Bar and pits the iPhone X against Samsung's Galaxy devices.

In the first ad, called "Power," a customer tells the "genius" that the Galaxy Note is "really powerful." "You know what I think is powerful?" the genius replies. "Being able to unlock your phone with your face." "It does that too," the customer replies.

The genius bar then points out that on iOS 12, you can FaceTime up to 32 people. "Why would I ever want to do that though?" asks the customer.

In the second ad, entitled "Pen," a customer comes into the "ingenius bar" and asks about the difference between the Apple Pencil and the S Pen that comes with the Galaxy Note 9. "Well, the Apple Pencil only works on the iPad," says the genius. "Okay, so what can I use on my phone?" asks the customer. "Uh... your finger?" replies the genius.

Samsung's newest ads in the "Ingenius" series are promoting the Galaxy Note 9, a device that it launched just yesterday. The 6.4-inch Galaxy Note 9 is equipped with a Snapdragon 845 processor, which has been bested by the iPhone X, along with an iris scanner at the front and a fingerprint sensor at the back.

It works with the S Pen stylus, and while some rumors have suggested Apple is exploring an Apple Pencil option for the iPhone, it's not clear if that's something that will ever happen.

Samsung has shared several ads in the Ingenius series, making fun of the iPhone X's notch, lack of SD card, lack of multitasking capabilities, and the fact that there's no headphone jack, while highlighting the the faster LTE speeds and camera in the Galaxy S9.

Stupid.

Stylus serves its purpose, whether you like it or not.

Of course it does, in the right context, as it does with a large device where finer control matters. A few of us here have been asking for compelling reasons for a stylus on a small device like a phone. Really not trying to be argumentative but it doesn't make sense. I can't honestly think of any, and those claiming it's so awesome have yet to provide concrete examples to back that up.

I heard something tonight that I hope somene can explain.

About how Geekbench on the iPhone vs Android phones, that Geekbench uses some new faster/modern access to hardware/graphics on the iPhone but does it to slower way on Android despite there being something similar, can anyone explain this please?

Hey Samsung supporters: defending these cringeworthy ads by saying what about Mac vs PC is lame. If you’re going to defend the ads defend them on their merits, not they’re justified because someone else did something similar over 10 years ago.

WeChat, Facebook, WhatsApp already allow group video calling for up to 9, 6, and 4 people, respectively.

FaceTime for 32 people is just a "sure, but why?" feature. It feels like a high number Apple chose just because they were late to the game.

I have 10 siblings. None of those app could handle my whole family. Why not have more when you can? Honestly can't understand the complaints with this.

I can’t even imagine trying to video call with one sibling and my parents without everybody trying to talk over each other :p but I agree, if they can support it, why not?

Perhaps you'd have a point if this someone was not Apple.

Personally, we will probably test it once to see how it works. But after that we'll see. But someone else might use it a lot more so having a random limit of 10 when you can have more makes no sense.

That's the beauty of Android - tons of choices. Just use Google hangouts (up to 25 people for video chat and 150 for talk)

It’s hilarious that Samsung still doesn’t understand that the real enemy that will cause their demise in the smartphone industry is other Android manufacturers, not Apple.

It’s right in front of their noses and they’re completely blind to it.

Agreed. Some of my friends are moving away from Samsung as they think they too expensive now. Why buy Samsung when you can get some really good cheaper phones running the same OS?

I'm not following you. All of those apps are available on iOS as well.

Are you saying that 10 is random limit but 32 is not? I am pretty sure anything above 4 almost never happens in real life.

Haha we actually used Samsung negative adds in one of my marketing classes as an example of a poorly done, non-responsive campaign.

They need to hire a new firm.
