The pro-Apple media is at it again. Or rather anti-Samsung. I made my mother ditch the stupid iPhone for a Note and I told her not to worry and just use her phone. Apple has way more problems with their inferior iPhone. Every year it's something. Yellow screens, bending, antenna, faulty buttons, touch disease. Apple's legendary design is a myth. As is their "custom" chip design. Inferior to my superior Samsung chip. Enjoy your dumb 3D Touch, iPhone users. I'll enjoy genuine features of my Galaxy.

What is the big Deal.....2 million sold 35 have issues......I love my note 7. I will use it until I exchange it...I will not ever buy a IPhone... i dont wanted a phone made from Chinese parts makes up to a ridiculous price because of branding........No thanks...Android software for me.
Are you insane? First off, most everything is made of Chinese parts. Some Chinese parts are actually pretty damned good quality. If you love Android and don't want to pay ridiculous prices for a full featured smart phone you might actually want to look into some Chinese made smart phones.

I love my Note 7, too. It was fabulous. But I love my skin and my family even more. Get that potential incendiary device out of your home and take advantage of whatever trade in and compensation your carrier or merchant can offer you. For your own safety. Goodness! Please tell me you're just joking around with us.

When things are being rushed quality suffers, things go unnoticed and errors creep in. There is plenty of evidence pointing towards that.Stop deflecting like a broken record.
I'm not trying to sound like a broken record. You made a claim - a claim that there is evidence the device was rushed and i asked you to provide said evidence, of which there has been none so far.
I'll tell you what - i'll try to be fair here with you and ask you; is it possible that this could be a manufacturing defect?

When is someone going to accuse this family of intentionally burning their child to collect money? They're already accusing the Jeep owner and the garage/house fire owner of using the Note 7 to commit insurance fraud.

And where's the class action lawsuit? Apple gets sued because a 16GB iPhone doesn't have a full 16GB storage after you install iOS. Surely this is a teensy weensy more deserving of a lawsuit that phone storage.

His reply would be than that indicates they rushed manufacturing!!

This Note situation is really just racism against Koreans.
Don't listen to the media, then. Listen to Samsung. They sent me an email telling me to power down my Note7 and get it out of my house. That is straight from them. I'm Asian myself, there is no bigotry here, just concern for safety.

It is a defect which was caused by rushing things.

Well noone can say that anyway... because samsung IS the battery manufacturer.
I believe they make the battery cells, then a 3rd party packs those cells to make the final battery. It's that 3rd party that was incorrectly packing them together that has caused all this. I actually fee sorry for samsung this will ruin them for a few years and i'd say these latest phones are the first ones that don't ape the look of Apple's offerings!

I feel sorry for the 35 people hurt, property damage or inconvenience. Although no doubt their payouts will be significant. It's still a very low failure rate, far more phones just die in less violent ways and that is considered fine.

And that is certainly your choice to make. I sincerely hope your prized Galaxy doesn't go all super nova on you.

Ok - so we established that you have zero evidence. Got it. Thanks.

I don't think you understand what evidence is. This is very clearly evidence. It's indirect and circumstantial, but it is evidence.

You're asking for direct evidence linking these things to a rush job. That may not exist even inside of Samsung.

I understand that the OP I was replying to is speculating. And trying to draw a hard line between effect and only one possible cause.

35 people (that we know of) is absolutely not a "low failure rate" (and you really mean injury rate, since failure SHOULD just be the device breaking -- not exploding) for a consumer device like a cell phone.

You are confused. Merely pointing out the inherent bias against Samsung. If this were Apple, everyone would be talking about how small this problem is and how it's not a big deal. But since it's Samsung, the language is harsher and hyperbole greater.

I bet they'll drop the "Note" name for good. I would.
Yep, almost certain. I reckon they might even rename the whole lineup and consolidate the positions of each product. I'm not sure you even need to mention it has a stylus anymore. Just call their phones the S8, S8Pro and S8 Active. or something like that. (i don't like pro, it could just as easily be pen or just S8P or S8S). "Note" as a name is gone forever.

Riiiiiiight. It's all just "racism". It's not the fact that their product is poorly made, exploding, and hurting children.

They already have an S series. I think you and others are making more of this than necc. If they ever dismiss the Note branding, it won't be because of this issue. Can you point to any other company that discontinued a brand name because of a recall?

I think all you need do is replace 'rushed' with 'didn't do proper QA before releasing to market'. It's clear that happened or the issues would not be present.

The batteries at fault were ‘manufactured in Korea’ or ‘in Vietnam’ by a samsung subsidiary Samsung SDI. They made 70% of the batteries. The manufacturing process was at fault. The other batteries that are fine were made in China. I probably wouldn't say rushed but outsourcing so much of the manufacturing to a plant doing it incorrectly suggest time restraints.
