Call me old school, but I prefer the design of an iPhone 5/SE over this.
This is a slab of glass, devoid of personality.

I never knew a phone could have personality. I guess I'm just not one to personify my electronics.

Lol, only if you buy them from the Apple Store or directly from Apple. You can have fast big memory cards for around $ 40 these days.
Not 256GB. That costs $200. Some people never read the entire discussion. It was about a 256GB card.

Who said anyone was being realistic? But to answer your question No compelling products, except for the MacBooks, iPhones, iPads, Apple Watch that in ought and air pods that I just ordered.
Have fun with your antiques, if you're happy with it, so am I :D

Very, very nice phone. It's good to see real competition. The only thing I do not quite like is the position of the finger print sensor. I wonder if Apple comes up with a better solution.

I will wait to see what Google has to offer with the Pixel 2. I will never buy another Samsung, after the horrible laggy experience with the S7 Edge. That's the problem with Samsung. They get laggy after a few months.

..running out of reasons to not ditch iOS just like I did MacOS earlier this year. iMessage would be a blow but I'm struggling to see what else I'd lose out on. Before I'd have said iCloud but frankly it's looking archaic compared to the MS/Google options available now. Does Android on a tablet suck as much as it used to, right now it's the tablet that I'm struggling to find a non iOS replacement for.

Android works great on the Pixel. It gets laggy on a Samsung. Plus you wait forever to get an os update on carrier phones, except for the Pixel, which updates as frequently as the iPhone. I had the Samsung s7 Edge. It just updated to Noughat a few weeks ago on Verizon, more than 6 months after it came out

Was so close to purchasing S7 last year, didn't and picked up iPhone 7+ continuing my long standing relationship with Apple products. But this one looks even better, I don't know.. may have to finally pick up a device other than Apple to be my daily driver. Choices.. Choices..

Oh mate, is there really nothing Samsung related you don't like, not even secretly a little bit. You know this loyalty you give them is totally one sided , they don't give two hoots for you as an Individual, they only want your green!! End of. Which is sad really, as you so so love them...

I'm proud to say I don't own a single Samsung product.

No to Samsung mobile devices
No to Samsung displays
No to Samsung flash storage
No to Samsung TVs
No to Samsung washing machines
No to Samsung music systems
No to Samsung optical media players
No to Samsung cookers
No to Samsung toasters

Yes regrettably Apple probably has put Samsung components into some of my iOS devices and Macs, but whenever I have the choice I avoid Samsung like the plague.

I'm of the Jim Dalrymple school of thought on Samsung.

Lol, so that rhetoric implied here is that the future of phones is to carry around a bunch of dongles because you still want to use a pair of $500 studio quality wired headphones with your new 2017 phone?

So far all Apple has done is require every man, woman and child to carry a purse or backpack around full of wires and dongles because of their "courage". When I can't listen to music anymore because my batteries died after only a few hours, that is not progress.

Only when phones reach credit card thickness I might want to trade a headphone jack for something wireless then.

Listening to music from your iPhone on $500 headphones? Battery died after a few hours?

I have a 7Plus with Airpods, carry around ZERO dongles, listen to music all day at work and when I exercise at night, plug my phone in at night when going to bed with 50% or more left on a charge. ;)

With 5.8" and 6.2" as the options for the S8 and S8+, both with the same resolution, and physically not that different in size, why wouldn't they just pick one size for the S8?

Am I missing something, or is the plus literally just a slightly blown up S8?
