My antiques are better than your modern garbage.:D
We agree to disagree, peace ;)

As long as it makes you happy, it's fine to me. Used to be a big Apple fan but today I can't justify it for myself anymore. Keep comparing is my advice and take what suits your needs :)

Agreed. The ball is now in Apple's court. The bar has been raised for the iPhone 8. Your move Apple. Curved Edge OLED, Wireless charging and no bezels are the minimum standards for Apple to even compete. Samsung in a good customer friendly move has upped base storage to 64. Another slap to aPPLE

You realise every presentation is scripted, right?

A little worse than, say, Tim Cook's presentations and Steve Jobs was the master, but Apple presentations not a whole lot better these days.

So true. I had been skipping them lately, but I did watch the one for the new MBP. Unbelievable how flat and dull they've become.

I'm proud to say I don't own a single Samsung product.

No to Samsung mobile devices
No to Samsung displays
No to Samsung flash storage
No to Samsung TVs
No to Samsung washing machines
No to Samsung music systems
No to Samsung optical media players
No to Samsung cookers
No to Samsung toasters

Yes regrettably Apple probably has put Samsung components into some of my iOS devices and Macs, but whenever I have the choice I avoid Samsung like the plague.

I'm of the Jim Dalrymple school of thought on Samsung.
So you DO have a Samsung product. You’re fickle enough to try and push that crap and then have to do a 180 at the end of your post.

Definitely the best looking Samsung device yet, but I HATE the weird way the top of the screen gets rounded. I can't tell if that's a UI choice or how the display itself is.

I will wait to see what Google has to offer with the Pixel 2. I will never buy another Samsung, after the horrible laggy experience with the S7 Edge. That's the problem with Samsung. They get laggy after a few months.

Is this something inherent with Android? I've seen so many people complain about this on different android devices.

I know i mistakenly wrote Samsung, what i meant was chipgate crap.I have already edited my post :D and one more thing i have nothing against Samsung or anyone else.hope this clarify your doubt.

This isn't making sense Singh. You edited your post to "Chipgate" AFTER other forum members quoted you when you stated "Samsung Crap", which shows you were concerned with scrutiny for making a snide remark against Samsung. By the way, the times indicate on the thread when you made the edit. I'm legitimately confused. But thanks for attempting to clarify.

For reference of this:

Thank God no Samsung crap, I really would love to have a tsmc chip special in iPhone 8.

Nope! You're confusing RAM with Flash memory usage. There's no RAM usage display in iOS. When you say some apps use 1GB of memory it's a flash memory not RAM.
Okay it's flash memory and the memory use of apps is still absurdly big and growing under iOS.

Everyone loving this phone's design... I absolutely hate it, and not just to hate on Samsung... whom I admittedly can't stand. Both the rounded edges and the rounded corners of the screen are terrible choices on several levels. Once again, Samsung taking every rumor for the iPhone and smashing it in quickly just to beat Apple without ever asking "why are we doing this; what problem is this solving?"

Rounded edges = distortion and inadvertent touches
Rounded corners = wasted real estate, difficulty for developers, and awkward/inefficient screen layouts or cut-of content

Samsung phones = half-baked kitchen sink

It is kind of ugly

I like that they aren't just focusing on aesthetics and speed. Dual BT audio? I've been wanting that for years. Multi-window? This should've come out with the iPhone Plus series. Apple seriously has forgotten how to innovate and deliver new features.

Oh yea, and I'm still chapped about the lack of a headphone jack on my 7+. I didn't think I would miss it since I have a pair of V-Moda Crossfade Wireless, but when the battery runs low on them or I want to plug into the house sound somewhere, I have to go dig out the dongle.

It's because you have bad taste

Lets hope that the Galaxy S8 becomes a total hit so Apple won't release an "iPhone Edition" Ultra Pro starting at $1000+, otherwise good old times where ~$700 could get you the best iPhone are over

This looks like a straight rippoff of Apple Patently posts and iPhone leaks.

Samsung = copy paste anything Apple is rumored to do... Try to beat them to the market... Such a boring strategy.

No way Apple will have desktop mode. This alone makes switching tempting. It will depend on how well it works. It boils down to mouse control, and Apple is dead set against this-stupidly.
The thought of just having a phone with a desktop extension, and doing away with a laptop, is intriguing.

You could even have a hybrid laptop, terminal type thing, that converts your phone into a laptop. Of course, this would depend on cost, but there are possibilities here.

Until the iPhone 8 copies this 6 month old design and even the biggest Apple fans love it and still pointing to Samsung they are coping Apple. The copy thing is getting old, even for the competition. At least the competition is moving ahead where Apple keeps sitting in their 'originals'.

If this had Vanilla Android I'd acualy pick one up immediately. Still might, and just use my wife's jump on demand to do so since our other phones are now paid off. She was going to go with a red 7 but ultimately decided against.

uhmmm.. again no. Flash memory usage will not slow down your phone opposed to RAM. Apps usage of flash memory has nothing to do with iOS. That's how developers manage their app size. Bigger level games means more app space.

Going back to original argument with other poster with Android OS is that it's a RAM hog, and it definitely slows down the phone. That's why you see most Android phones with lots of RAM compared to iPhone.
