Only 4 gigs of ram running Android
Using another Android phone with 4GB and an equally high resolution screen it's fine. Faster than my previous iPhone 6+ by a large margin.

Only marginal improvements to the CPU from what i saw. Will it even top the iPhone 7?

Recently fired up my old Samsung Galaxy S5 and it was faster than my iPhone 6+ in every day tasks. Given that the GS5 was OLDER than the iP6+ I don't know how people say it is faster. Maybe on benchmarks but not in use.

Decent sized batteries but it's running Android...

7.0 is quite good and better than iOS 10 in many areas.

How are people eating this up? I mean, unless I missed something huge this not that great.

It does look good. I'd buy one but I'm over super expensive phones. My $400 Axon 7 is a neat phone and has many of these features already.

And you can delete the ones you don't want. Brilliant!

I don't think you can delete them. I think you can "disable" them so they are always hanging around. The problem is that Samsung apps are usually sub-par compared to Google's offerings or are not as well integrated into the greater Google ecosystem. They also have a different design language compared to Google's official Material Design so that also is a bit frustrating.

My wife who doesn't care what phone she uses, came from an iPhone 5S to her current S7 (I wanted to consolidate our household on Android). For a while she had both the Google and Samsung apps on, they were both sending notifications, and it was just a pain point that doesn't need to exist.

For this reason (among others) I am very much looking forward to the Pixel 2. Not to say the S8 isn't a nice phone, and that we don't like our S7s -- I just want a less fragmented experience with the phone.

Since Apple will use Samsung display, I'm hitting you hard if in a few months you say Apple 8 display is magical... which is likely.
The screens on samsung always look over colour, even when samsun make iphones screen it will be re tuned

Impressive device, feels like Samsung are giving it 110% which is less than I can say about Apple. I really hope they do something major this year. Having a Sub 1080p display is starting to get old. Love the bezelless design.

Nice phone, but all the carrier and Samsung bloatware is just too much. I dont like the fingerprint scanner next to the camera. The LG G6 has a better placement. The Pixel 2 coming out his fall may be a real choice, wih none of the bloatware.

Really beautiful looking device, hope apple brings something like this September

Yet, you were calling "Samsung" parts crap in this thread two days ago. Could you please clarify? And I mean no Snark, I'm literally confused by your contradictory posts.

Thank God no Samsung crap, I really would love to have a tsmc chip special in iPhone 8.

what is this fast wireless charging...

...is it true wire less...

...or a charging pad connected to a wire (like they currently have)

I am intrigued by the people wanting wireless charging where the charging device is not connected to anything, because that would make it wired. When do you expect this to appear? 2069 or 2071?

These round screen edges are going to nasty for developers and existing apps.

How so? Samsung first Edge device was the Note Edge back in 2014. Then Samsung went full edge with the S6 in 2015. I don't hear any "developer" complaints with the S6 or S7. My only issue is that I love glass screen protectors and these edge displays suck for them.

Beautiful phone! The issue with Samsung phones is that they reduplicate all of Google's efforts. Now you will have two "assistants" on the phone to go with your two email clients, your two web browsers, your two calendars, etc.
Only one browser, you can hide app icons in 5 seconds so you never see these spare apps. Total non issue.. try harder to find a reason why this phone isn't awesome..
