Do I prefer the notch to an actually edge to edge screen, no, do I perfer it to a forehead and chin, yes. With Touch ID my phone wouldn’t unlock due to cold or dust or what not (I’m not going through the whole thing again), with Face ID I can unlock and use my phone because it will unlock no matter what’s wrong with or on my hands, the use of the touch screen and the fingerprint sensor are two completely different technologies. It makes my phone easier and simpler to use in my life, maybe not yours, but in myn yes
You have a forehead...it's known by a different name called "the notch". As for FaceID again I ask you: What do you do with your phone once you've unlocked it? Since the phone requires a finger to use it I fail to see the benefit of not using a finger to unlock it because you need a finger to use it.

I never lost my mouse but I would love to know how you can achieve this feat. I use good durable batteries. It lasts for about 2 years. So yeah, I don't need wired devices.
Only two years? My keyboards from 30 years ago still work without having to replace anything.

One particular thing I like about Samsung/Sony camera is its widest lense. It covers a lot more area than any and every iPhone I have ever owned.

Boy, this looks inelegant. Bring those slightly different bezels for a design exam and you'd be guaranteed to fail.

Theory is one thing, real life another one. If people blindly followed 100% what schools said we'd still be in the stone age.

Samsung has always been heavily dependent on the screen as the differentiation for their phones vs. competitors. Looks like they've hit a dead end now.

Of course you prefer Animojis. Just like you prefer a notch obstructing your view of the display. If I'm ever looking for sound judgement on any matter, I'm most definitely calling you up.

How does the notch obstruct the view of anything?

I mean I know that on my smartphone, I'm not looking for an audiophile experience when I just throw my headphones on to go for a walk or something....
The point being the replacements for the things you mentioned were superior whereas the replacement for the lack of wired headphones are not.

FaceID is as much about making the phone smaller as it does anything else, and for that it was perfectly successful for me.
I don't see the iPhone X being any smaller than other phones. Did I miss something?

I have seen some crazy mental gymnastics and excuse making for various things but this takes the cake
Ohhh, why do I bother? I guess you have never seen a broken pair of headphones in the past 10 years.

The godamn difference is you need a finngerprint to unlock the phone but not to use it, you only need a finger, and if the fingerprint doesn’t work, like with me I can’t unlock the phone, but with Face ID if the fingerprint doesn’t work it doesn’t matter cause there’s no fingerprint sensor, and I can use cause my finger is still there...and there’s a difference between not having any space at the top like with the forehead that having some like the notch, it’s more screen space

Samsung finally got really good at marketing and making their stuff look very appealing. They sucked me into getting an s8 and I promise I'll never make the mistake again of thinking their advertisements equal reality when it comes to the experience of using their phones.

I don’t understand why the arguing is horribly redundant with frivolous things about which device is better versus the iPhone or Galaxy. Every user has different appreciations for both platforms. Not sure why it’s so difficult for others to respectful of each other’s decisions on what hardware they choose To use. There is no right or wrong answer, buy what works for the you.
I totally agree with you on this one. After all nobody is forcing anyone to buy anything. Why all the fuss for nothing?

The port is gone, and if you switch to Samsung I guarantee you that the Note 9 and S10 will remove the port.
Sooner or later they'll remove it too. I give them 3 more years. I bet that by 2021 they'll set it on fire.

I bought the S4 (because it had LTE and the screen was big)
I bought the S7 Edge (because it had an OLED display and less bezels)

Apple has exceeded both with updated phones (the iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone X)

Unless Apple really drops the ball and Samsung just gets amazing over the next few years, I'll be on iPhone for the time being. The X is everything I want in a phone.

You still need a finger to use it. You're just regurgitating marketing talking points. No one, and I mean no one, was asking for an alternative way to unlock the iPhone. People advocating FaceID are just repeating marketing points.

More screen space for what? Again I can understand if you said it didn't bother you. But to say you prefer it? I'm not buying it.

Oh, I bet you could. Easily.

I carry an iPhone X and an iPhone SE, so I go back and forth every day. I greatly prefer FaceID, and TouchID feels very clumsy at this point. I'm putting in a request at work to replace the SE with another X shortly.

Looks like it's a you, and the select few who feel encumbered by this, problem.

COMPLETE LIE. Don't ever post such false comments again, that is insulting to everyone reading this thread. It is NOT a 'select few' and you know it.

My god... how can you just say that? What made you actually lie about the issue? What is the driving force behind this?

Answer it.

How is it clumsy? Especially since you have to use your fingers to use both of them?

So instead of rough use eventually breaking the connector on relatively inexpensive headphones (which is also an easy repair), you want to switch to much more expensive headphones that have non-replaceable batteries that guarantee they need replacement after 3 years.

My Bose QC25s have a $30 replacement cable available if it breaks. The $450 wireless beats QC35s are a total loss when the battery reaches EOL. Beats is no different, Airpods are no different.

That's some courage all right.
You are right about the battery, it will indeed require a new battery but they could built the headphones in such a way that the average consumer can replace the battery. I am not going to buy the AirPods or Beats as a matter of fact. There are 3rd party solutions that are cheaper and don't have wires. I also hate wires hanging around to be honest.
