I have seen some crazy mental gymnastics and excuse making for various things but this takes the cake

Nah, I saw a guy on the plane today stick his iPhone in his back pocket with the Lightning/headphone adapter plugged in and I cringed because it was just begging to get smashed. Moving the phone around with stuff plugged into it is exactly how the ports get all reamed out and stop working.

Looks like it's a you, and the select few who feel encumbered by this, problem. The truth of the matter is that is indeed the solution to the 3.5 jack whether we like it or not, they've improved the battery life on the phones without the port. Stop putting out the false information of no headphone port, accept the design change, or move on to another company. Apple will not miss you.

These words have brought down many company’s. Never under estimate you customer. They are fickle

They improved battery life by throttling the phone.

You have a forehead...it's known by a different name called "the notch". As for FaceID again I ask you: What do you do with your phone once you've unlocked it? Since the phone requires a finger to use it I fail to see the benefit of not using a finger to unlock it because you need a finger to use it.

Only two years? My keyboards from 30 years ago still work without having to replace anything.
Yeah, only 2 years. I don't think you understood me, but I was talking about the batteries, anyway, let's leave it here. Batteries aren't so expensive, so it's not so bad.

Using your face weather it be 2d 3d or 50d makes zero difference of who had it first.

Looking at you phone to unlock using your face was done first on a samsung phone.

Period.

Facial recognition is facial recognition!!
Logic of the unscientific mind. You surely judged things at “face” value.

Headphone jack included.

That alone makes it way better than an iPhone and most other phones. Apple is so incredibly stupid to ditch the headphone jack.

So incredibly stupid, iPhones sales suffer so badly from the lack of headphone jack. So sad. /s

What will you say when Samsung ditches the headphone jack in maybe one year or two?

If only it didn’t have all the Samsung bloatware on it. Would love a straight android version with no excess crap.

Would be nice if they made all that bloatware optional. IE; when you setup the device, it just asks you what additional Samsung software you want. Choosing nothing keeps it at stock.....

Wish Google would implement something like this and enforce it.

You still need a finger to use it. You're just regurgitating marketing talking points. No one, and I mean no one, was asking for an alternative way to unlock the iPhone. People advocating FaceID are just repeating marketing points.

More screen space for what? Again I can understand if you said it didn't bother you. But to say you prefer it? I'm not buying it.

I’m fed up with this. The fact that I’ve tried to explain this almost 10 time and you still don’t get proves how close minded you are. People have a difference in opinion and live in different scenarios and you don’t seem to get that for some reason. You wouldn’t go tell a gay guy he’s wrong for being gay or vice versa would you? No, because that being an *******. This is the same thing.

They're more expensive than what I've put out for my wired keyboards and mice.

They don’t do it with the screen off it’s just faster cause it uses a 2d image instead of 3D mapping. Face ID has 3 component that use battery as far as I know those just use the camera

I am well aware that Face ID is 3D based as my other post was made earlier in this thread. I am just saying that you can look at a LG Q6, G6, or V30 directly and it works instantly. FaceID is much more secure than those methods, but it also becomes an extra step. I still prefer TouchID to FaceID in its current generation.

Where in my comment did I say anything about the sales? I don't care about the sales. And it doesn't matter a whole lot. We're talking about a consumer base that will spend double for an iMac for which it's PC counterpart has the same internals. The sales won't drop, Apple consumers will spend whatever amount of money necessary to get the next Apple product.

I don't deny you your preference. Well, except when you say you prefer the notch versus not having a notch. Yeah, I deny you that because I don't believe you. If Apple were to release a notchless, "foreheadless" iPhone I'm sure we'd be hearing you singing their praises. Again, if the notch doesn't bother you I can understand that. But to say you prefer it? Not buying it.

No, you're clearly someone that prefers to be practical. Apparently that has no place in 2018.

To be serious though...... the existence of anything being wired doesn't take away from the option of going wireless. I wish people that like wireless would stop complaining about this. It's such bad logic.

Confused, iPhone Lightening Cable is a wired option the last time I checked. Offers more and better sound options for users and headphone manufactures. Definitely moving forward, so what’s the issue if one wants a wired connection?

Just because people weren't asking for FaceID doesn't make it inferior. The only reason people weren't thinking about it is because they saw the inferior versions made by Google and Samsung and assumed (wrongly) that was as good as it gets. Apple proved them wrong by making a superior version.

I find FaceID superior to TouchID. Superior doesn't mean it's better at everything and in all circumstances. It means better overall. Which it is. Nothing to do with marketing.

Then why exactly is Apple "so incredibly stupid" for ditching the headphone jack?

I don't recall ever having said it was inferior. Can you please provide a reference to my post where I did so?

So the same thing as the S8 with some old camera tricks. Probably a fine phone, but I’m surprised how little Samsung is criticized when they make little to no changes to phones and software for years.
That's because everyone--users, haters, media and even Apple themselves, hold Apple to a higher standard which, for a few years now, Apple has not reached.

If someone where to release a notchless, forehealess, chinless phone, yea that would be great, but technology isn’t there, so for now I’d rather have as much screen as possible on a small footprint, and the notch give me that
