Doesn’t matter if it’s much wider if the XS Max is already too wide to type with one hand comfortably and easily and securely… Which it is.

If you’re going to tell me the XS max is great for one-handed typing I think we’re probably not going to have a great convo here… lol

The good news for the Galaxy Fold is... the outside screen will be perfect for one-handed typing.

That is... unless your fingers are too thick to hit the tiny buttons!

Look at the size of his fingers... and try to imagine how small the keys will be on that screen.

Remember... this screen is actually narrower than an iPhone SE. Thus tiny keys.

That's what I was saying earlier. People were expecting a phone similar to what they already have today... and then it unfolds into a larger tablet.

But this is a rather odd-shaped phone to start with. In my opinion.

Note: this is just me speculating through the Internet from pictures and videos. I'm ready to see hands-on reviews from my favorite Youtubers.

This may be the greatest thing ever made. I don't know yet. :p

I don't understand why everyone here is so excited about this. This phone may be the stupidest thing I've seen in years.

What problem is it solving, is it solving it efficiently, and at what costs/trade-offs (weird aspect ratios, mechanical complexity, more failure points, price, etc.)?
Is it supposed to be a large phone or a tiny tablet?
What's the crease in that screen gonna look like in six months of heavy daily use?
You have to open it up to use it full-screen!

So many people calling this turd "innovative"... makes me think of The Homer...

Worried, huh?

That Galaxy Fold is nice and how the display works but I don't want spend that kind of money regardless of who make it.

Gotta wonder how long that screen hinge is going to hold up.

Somebody needs to subject that phone to cyclic opening and closing to see how long before pixels start dying.

It’s an impressive proof of concept, but I don’t actually like it. You either have a really small tablet or a really fat phone, neither of which is terribly appealing. And at that price you could buy a high end smartphone and a high end tablet and have better versions of both device.

looks good, but without the right software support this will become a dud.

@Michael Scrip

Truthfully, I'm mainly just excited to see something totally fresh and innovative being attempted.

I'm totally exhausted with Apple doing so very little and just raising prices and removing features along the way.

Technology has gotten to the point where something besides a basic "slab of glass" is possible and should be experimented with to see where it might lead.

Kudos Samsung.

I still can't believe they put that small of a screen on the huge front. Usability is out the window with this thing. Not to mention how ugly it is.

It just feels lazy and rushed - they got the folding screen tech down obviously, they just couldn't wait until the rest of the hardware was ready.

It kinda reminds me of these things Nokia used to churn out occasionally:

Just updated with full touch rather than like a mini laptop with screen-keyboard inside. I do miss adventurous Nokia, they were always playing around with some crazy form factors... nice to see Samsung stepping up on that front after so many years of anonymous glass slabs...
