I will never understand why people argue over something that is opinion only. I happen to like both Samsung and Apple and will regularly switch back and forth. Each have their strengths and weaknesses. Right now my personal opinion is that the iPhone feels like a brick and the iPhone 14 is not much of an upgrade so I will be using a Flip4 for a while. I can't wait to see what Apple comes up with when they finally make their foldable phone.

My issue is more with the flip/fold being not ready for prime time due to the hinge/crease issues. Samsung put out an unrefined product simply to be ‘first’. I’d say the same if anyone else came out with the phones that have the same issues I’ve pointed out.

I did use a pixel for a while; now that’s a decent Android phone. The Galaxy I tried before that & switched from was bloated and cheap feeling in comparison to the Pixel.

But really this again is personal opinion. I honestly don't even notice the crease and everything else about the folding screen is a plus to me. You can easily balance the phone when you need to use the flashlight. You can set the phone down without the need of a tripod or anything to balance on to be included in pictures or take selfies from a distance. The multi app display with one on top and one on the bottom works great and there is also something very satisfying about closing the phone instead of turning it off.

I have had a Pixel 6 Pro and and iPhone 13 Pro Max in the last year but right now I am enjoying the Flip.

The crease exists. The hinge is not great, there’s a gap when you have it closed, meaning dust/dirt can get in there. That’s facts, not opinion. What is opinion is you saying you can’t see the crease.

Oh Samsung...that's cute :')

Not to mention when Apple will make a foldable iPhone it'll probably be the best the technology can provide in that regard.
I don't mind the phones themselves, and I'm glad there's a space for customers who are willing to be on the bleeding edge (regardless of the downsides), but making fun of a person who wants better software and reliability rather than the new hip thing...I don't know.

Once again I'd go even as far as saying the flip is genuinely cool, but it serves no useful purpose; the fold at least gives you more usable screen real estate.

ALSO if you dream about smartphones your life must be pretty bad :D

I didn't say I don't see the crease, I said I don't notice the crease, there is a big difference in those two statements. I am holding the flip on my hand right now and that gap you mention, I can't even get my fingernail through it so its a pretty tight fit so I still say all of this is personal opinion and not fact.

It's a neat phone Samsung, but I'm not interested in a phone that doubles as a tablet. I'm not interested in a tablet, period. I like my 6.1" brick to have as few moving parts as possible.

Nah, last time I used a Samsung phone (S10 or something .. I cant remember) I hated the experience. I just had to help a friend of mine disable the ads that kept popping up on his phone from the Samsung bloat installed.

A $1000 phone. With ads. From Samsung.

Nah .. I'll pass.

And yes, it was ads delivered BY the Samsung apps. It wasn't some janky bloat from some app he installed, it was like this because Samsung is delivering ads.

Edit: If you need to disable ads on your new samsung device, you can follow this article, it worked for my friend.
GS8+ were the last time. Love Samsung hardware but iOS destroys Android OS, especially the updates. Was Oreo coming "soon" forever. Think we switched back to iOS before it ever released.

Question to a flip owner - can you answer a call with one hand? Is it easy to un-flip with one hand?

You can answer a call from the front panel without opening the phone. Also, the phone can be flipped open with one hand but it takes some practice to perfect it, I would not say it's easy.

First question, yes, from the cover screen. Second, no, at least I can't. It's stiffer than that and I don't think I'd want it to be able to flip open easily, as it sounds like a hinge that would break easier.

So? You can find lots of broken iPhone pictures with an even quicker search. You imply it happens to all foldables, it does not, it's only a small minority of foldables that break like that.
But yea, we don't know that it will fail, despite there being a decent amount of precedent....
A decent amount?? What percentage? You know that, you *may* be able to say that, but I've had 3 foldables now, none of them broke like that. (Motorola Razr, Samsung Flip3 and Flip4)

Irrelevant to the discussion. The discussion is that Flip/fold phones currently have an inherent flaw in the creased screen. It's a point of failure, of which there are numerous documented cases. That's facts. Based on those facts, my opinion is that it's not worth going for a flip/fold phone until the technology is ready for it properly.

Hahaha. Yah right. They are the ones that brag about teeny tiny pixels. “Everyone agrees that tiny pixels are better”. Said no videographer, ever

I'm good. I prefer my phones without giant creases in the middle. Creases that have resulted in giant cracks at times as well.
So much this. Tried a flip in store. Can’t believe people are sold on it.

Apple will never release a display with some plastic feeling crap with a crease that distorted the image and breaks in the middle of the screen.

Can I use my Apple Watch, my HomePods, iMessage and sync between my iPad seamlessly on your phones Samsung? Then no I will not be switching.
sorry, keyboard snafu! this apple ipad pro magic keyboard is driving me mad. Very hard to type entries in forums and not accidentally hit ‘enter’ before I’m done (by touching the touchpad). :(

I liked the concept but it is poorly made with weirdest aspect ratio. I can never imagine myself using any phone with that aspect ratio. Last week, I bought surface duo old version on a super sale and loved the screen and aspect ratio. I hope microsoft continue supporting duo series with latest products and continuous operating system upgrades.
