Actually, this doesn't specifically target Apple at all. Even the phone at the end isn't an iPhone. I think you just felt specifically targeted.
This ad was clearly targeted at Apple, as are basically all their ads. They don't need to show an actual iPhone. They are jealous of Apple's success. Just like the Android fans are jealous of iPhone owners, otherwise they wouldn't be frequenting a site full of them while supposedly disliking the product.

Who folds a square "pizza"? That's not even a Sicilian slice - it's... cheesy toast with tomato sauce. Surprised they were not eating it with a fork and knife. 🤢

Already did. Bought 2. Will never go back to a slab.
I did too, but I kept my iPhone as well. (I have 2 lines) I gotta say I like the flip more than my iPhone though, USBC, Android Auto Works better than CarPlay, and it flips closed for in my pocket. I really wish Apple would make a flip phone.

Clever ad!

I had the Fold 2 and 3. Great experience. Always wanted to try the Flip. Probably next year.

I think it’s neat to see different form factors, but I saw someone at a cars and coffee trying to flip open his phone while holding his coffee and instantly recalled the days of owning actual flip phones and hated having to fumble with the phone back then just for a picture. If people like them, great, not for me.

My bad. Forgot it was a perk it comes with. Hey, if people are happy with folders, more power to them. Just not for me.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not defending the crease. Apparently other's like Oppo have found a way to be creaseless and have a thinner phone that closes all the way then Samsung's devices but that opened them up to other problems. I've heard concern anyway that if micro bits of grit get closed into the phone it risks scratching the screen since there's no room for the grit to fall out.

No thanks, I'll get the iPhone 14 Pro Max instead. I still have my Game Boy Advance SP when I feel like I want to flip.

I have seen and used one myself and I think it's really cool that this kind of technology exists and that you can have it in a phone.

But I still don't understand exactly why it's clearly superior to a flat one? What use cases make folding indispensable?

I'm not mocking, I'm genuinely curious as I just can't come up with anything.

What they show in the video of having it stand on its own to take a photo is obvious. And it being able to "stand" upright on a table by itself is equally so.

But are there any others I am missing?

You dislike your Samsung so much that you can't stop coming to an Apple forum to talk about the iPhone. So much jealousy. Sorry about your inferior product, I hope you make a better purchase decision next time.
Yeah I keep repeating that "bad purchase decision" on purpose. Silly me.

They all have creases in the screens. It's not really that noticeable most of the time but the creases are there.
Does a tree falling in the woods make a sound. (not that anyone cares, of course.) Same for the crease if I don't notice it most of the time. (like when I'm looking directly at the phone, I don't see it.)

So do iPhone screens.

This might be rare for now but it's an issue for people.
It's rare, and will continue to be so, and can be repaired if it does happen. Just like an iPhone.
I like the idea of folding phones. I just don't think we're quite there yet with the technology or implementation.
It's there as far as I'm concerned. I'd buy an Apple foldable in an instant, but my Flip4 will do until then.

You're welcome to make excuses as needed to defend your purchase. When Samsung no longer needs to include warning stickers on how fragile the screen is, we can talk.
Mine didn't have a warning sticker. (Flip4)

But it's only obvious, sharp objects can scratch things. Why would I try to gouge a my screen. Casual contact with your fingernail wont scratch it.

You must not then had a fold or flip. You’ll never go back . I’m getting next years Fold
Tried both. Awful. The hinge is ugly and gets in the way. Maybe when they can do it with a hinge that doesn’t mean there’s issues with the bit where the screen folds. It’s not ready for prime time. The excuses for the hinge from Samsungs fans are daft.

It seems the character portrayed in this advertisement has some psychological issues that she's in the midst of being treated for, as we know from her being in treatment. This is kind of funny but her nightmare will continue when she has an issue with her new Samsung phone and needs to take it to....her carrier? #fail

You mean you don't appreciate when your phone creaks?!

I was using Samsung for about 8 years before I bought my iPhone 12 pro max. My irritationsmoments with Samsung were their gimmicks which were not working properly most of the times. Android updates were always late. But, I did like many features especially easy to search a contact directly from keypad, unlimited number of call history, delete hundreds of calls from a contact at once within seconds etc. But as a person who enjoyed the design of iPhone 4 and now iPhone 12 pro max, I would never like to see a crease in the middle of a screen, and a phone with doesnt close properly. If Apple ever release a foldable phone with annoying crease, I wouldn't buy it either.

Are we just going to ignore that fact that virtually all those examples are of products folding and not flipping? :D
