At least it has no camera ugly bump
I'll take a bump to that large hideous window any day
[doublepost=1503692497][/doublepost]
Not necessarily. Galaxy S8 camera is flush and is ranked #4 while protruding camera on iPhone 7 is ranked 13th. Less than 1mm difference is insignificant.

A thicker device at even 0.4mm is a huge difference. It's sad you don't know that.

P.S. The window is not flush. Period. It is far less protruding due to the device thickness, but still not flush.

The Note 8 is a great piece of hardware, but the iOS experience sells me over Android any day. The Hardware euphoria eventually wears off, it eventually comes down the software experience.
One day I would love to take the time to sit down with someone like your good self and find out what makes you prefer the iOS experience. Genuinely.

I say this as someone who uses a Mac, SurfacePro, iPhone 6, Pixel and Amazon echo daily. I like to think of myself as being an ecosystem-agnostic gadget enthusiast.

The reason is that my iPhone plays very much second fiddle to my Pixel daily driver which with the widgets, menus and app integrations provides me fast access to the things I do daily and usability that iOS at the moment can only dream of.

Taking just a couple of example apps like Tasker, that does things for me like automatically send my other half a message if the battery runs low, and Cerberus, for additional piece of mind. With this and so much more, for me it is an essential assistant. I find iOS while obviously polished, it is so much more frustrating to usually as similar actions require more swipes/presses etc.. Not so many years ago, I was able to turn on Bluetooth on Android with a swipe and press whereas the iPhone took (IIRC) 7 or 8 actions to do the same. Someone even developed an app for doing it more quickly!

Sure Android takes more time to invest in configuration, but the rewards afterwards are wonderful to use each day. The only reason I keep with the iPhone is there are some excellent stats apps that I use and aren't on Android - a big negative of the software fragmentation (so the developers said when I asked them).

I feel like I am missing something. One of my most technophobic friends after years of using iOS has moved onto Android and says he loves it. I thought he was lying as he loves things to be clean, simple to use and not need much brain power to use - very much a "pick up and play" sort.

I wonder though what it is that it is missing that makes you dislike the experience.

P.s. I know I am on Page 6 here already so this probably won't be read. :(

If you're going to compare camera locations & bumps, the best comparison would be,
"Which one are you most likely to accidentally put your hand over?" :D
Probably the one with the rumored lenses positioned vertically right in the zone where a landscape shot would have me put my hands. Sammy moved the flash between the lenses and the fp sensor.

It cracks me up the new specs they make up...
Now, instead of referring to processor by its name, speed, & number of cores- it’s a “10nm processor”.
Lol, another meaningless spec to regurgitate when the fanboys rattle off a memorized list of what makes their Sammie teh awesome.
You directing your ire at some nonexistent Samsung fanboys or Matt and MR? I mean, to direct it anywhere else other than Matt and MR would misguided and disingenuous. Pretty sure you can't find a review of the Note 8 that doesn't mention the processor by name, Snapdragon 835... 'cept this one. LOL at Matt and MR amirite?

Even with the protrusion, the iPhone's back design is much more appealing than that monstrosity of the Note 8. Which is a shame, because the S8 was actually nice. And I like the vertical camera with the flash in the same shape too.

The process node determines battery life, clock speed, sustained performance without throttling, felt heat output, etc. It's more important than other gimmicks like Retina, 3D touch, ProMotion...

Oh for sure!
And I am absolutely CERTAIN that all Note 8 owners are aware that this new terminology is directly related to the diminishing returns of clock cycles.
Yup. They’ll sell millions of units, and all of them to highly tech literate end users.

Lol, nope.

They act like the NAME of this “exciting new” processor is: the 10nm.

There sure is a lot of hype around this dummy iPhone 8. It's now getting comparisons to real products of competitors! At this point Apple might as well bring it out along side the real iPhone 8. The iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 D. lol

The new iPhone is the best looking iPhone in my eyes. Looks ultra modern. I love the chrome surround and I don't even mind the white bezel. The camera bump has never bothered me; why would it? The phone looks very Apple in a way the iPhone 6-7 have not. The Note 8 is attractive but not very inventive or distinctive.

I wonder if the dummies are missing some kind of bevelled ring around the camera bump like earlier models had. Might look less awkward.

No where on the page to they call the SOC "The 10nm".

They used a generic descriptor since they use two different types of 10nm SOCs.
Some regions get the Qualcomm SOC and others get the Exynos SOC. Both are 10nm.

Lol, nope.

Oh Sammy, they let me down. Maybe they're still participating the Qualcomm vs the World drama. At least all the reviews mention the 835. I'm going to hang my hat on pedanticism and say that I said "reviews".:D:(

edit: what rjohnstone said.

I'll just except your response as a deflection, being you ignored my past points. For a second time, I'm referring about strictly the platform, NOT the technical specifications what makes the device better over the other. That's subjective in a stance depending how the user takes advantages of the power. But the operating platform as a whole, is an entirely different entity that offers differences between the platforms for what someone prefers.
Closed mind, just like I stated.
