The new iPhone is the best looking iPhone in my eyes. Looks ultra modern. I love the chrome surround and I don't even mind the white bezel. The camera bump has never bothered me; why would it? The phone looks very Apple in a way the iPhone 6-7 have not. The Note 8 is attractive but not very inventive or distinctive.

Agreed! The 6 -> 6S -> 7 have been my least favorite iPhone designs of the entire history of the line. I actually liked the 3G and 3GS better than I like the 6S I'm typing this on.

I can say that I'm all-in on this. And I'm definitely getting the white one. The white iPhones haven't looked this good since the 4S. I love it!

My only complaint about this mockup is that it does still have the camera bump. It'd be so much sleeker without it. Plus the phone wouldn't rock when I'm typing on a flat surface. Oh well. I've lived with the bump since 2015... I guess I can live with it a while longer.

What a waste of time that was! Stealing is stealing regardless of the past. The iPhone screen changed and is now looking like Samsung.

I dont see it. One is taller, has curved infinity edges, and distinct top and bottom bezels. The other is shorter, has no curved edges, no top and bottom bezels, and a notch design at the top. They literally look nothing alike. Slightly rounded screen corners mimic the constraints of a smartphone with the same rounded shape. That's not a design characteristic.

LOL! They look nothing alike. Get real. They're both rectangles with rounded corners. Execution is entirely different. The whole Galaxy line was conceived as an iPhone clone. You've clearly forgotten.
Clearly Apple is now copying Samsungs infinity display.

You mean the thin bezels? Like Sharp had a few years ago and Xioami had last year?
And OLED display. Still, Apple users will call this "innovation"!

It wasn't Samsungs display design, bezeless was started prior to all of this. But that wasn't stated either.

Amazing the hubris over this.
Samsungs OLED infinity display is the best on the market. You can't deny apple taking a page from samsungs book

The iPhone doesnt have an infinity display. They just shrunk the bezels and expanded the screen to fit the shape of the iphone...the same shape its been forever. Even the first iphone had rounded corners. Shrinking bezels is called progress...its not a design trend.

The oled is not innovative. Who said that? No one. They're playing catch-up there.

so let me see if I understood this straight. All of you guys would rather have less functional space, a.k.a. Useless plastic taking up space to serve absolutely no purpose just to look slightly better. And you’d rather have a smaller battery with a weaker camera and possibly Less features just to have a flatter phone? None of this makes sense to me. If I am handing someone 1000+ of my hard earned money I’d like them to pack as much technology and features as possible and use every bit of space possible to function for something. I am not going to grip wider or have the phone stick out of my pocket much more all because there is useless function less plastic on my phone for the sake of looks.

Apple should make the 7S and 7S plus completely flat phones with the big bezel, box design, for people who like looks over function. And then release the eight or pro, whatever it will be called, with the most hard-core/latest technology available today and call it a day.

A dummy iPhone is holding its own against an actual note 8. The actual iPhone 8 is going to look so much better then this dummy model. Its going to look and feel super premium. And the copper color is going to be totally different then what you see in these dummies. That being said the note is hideous looking. The screen is too tall and overall it's too big. I think apple gonna hit that sweet spot again just like they did with the 3.5' ;). but seriously i think the new iPhone is gonna be the perfect size for me. I don't like the plus and my 7 is maybe slightly smaller then i would like.

At least it has no camera ugly bump

Seriously? Everyone getting all butthurt over a camera bump on the back of an iPhone?? Is it really that big of a deal? Once your case is on it will sit flush with the opening and look nice and uniform again. Sheesh, so many posts about the bump. I remember all this with the 7. Not a big deal at all. And you know you'll be preordering on day 1 even if the bump was twice a big.

That protruding camera on the iPhone 8 really is an eyesore. Would gladly have accepted a thicker phone instead. There are three things I envy Samsung owners for having; customizable themes, the flush cameras on the back, and those giant infinity screens that spill over the edges of the phone *sigh* if it wasn't for the lag in touch wiz (especially running games) I'd take the plunge to Samsung in a heart beat. But I just love how smooth iOS is, hardly a hiccup to be had. It's reliable, but boring.

All I'm saying is that oled was invented in 1988 and Kodak has patents in it. Samsung may license the technology, but it wasn't their invention.

The one time Apple beats Samsung at screen to body ratio, people trash the camera bump. Weren't haters calling out Apple for form over function?

The iPhone 8 will destroy the Note 8, which is an S8 clone with an SOC that's barely faster than the 2 year old A9. Not to mention no stereo speakers and a crappy microphone on the Note 8

I just can't believe how awful new iPhone's camera lens looks.

Comparing the two..just an easy win for Samsung.not even on same level..

Sadly that lens alone destroys iPhone's overall design.

Why??

Samsung effectively invented OLED. The OLED tech by Kodak was not ready for production.

You clearly haven't used OLED phones from 2010. The display was terrible and it took Samsung years before it came to the LCD killer it is today.

I usually put an Apple leather case on my iphones. I don't even notice the camera module. I just want stuff that works the best.
