Why are Samsung' new phones so long? And why do they have a weird aspect ratio?
Agreed. I'll guess that more people watch 16x9 format more often than any other.

Except Samsung have had the best cameras for a while now.
The iPhone's.If you're going to compare camera locations & bumps, the best comparison would be,
"Which one are you most likely to accidentally put your hand over?"![]()
That also protrude.
Man, that Samsung looks ugly compared to the iPhone.
That's funny because I think the iPhone is ugly with that protruding camera that looks like it was slapped on at the last second.Man, that Samsung looks ugly compared to the iPhone.

Well you see I am the opposite. The iPhone 8/ pro is too small for me. And I'll be loose real estate over my 7 plus.I am liking the size of the iPhone Pro better. I don't I could get used to the Note's size/aspect ratio. Maybe I am in the minority, but I don't see why we do these comparisons. If someone prefers Android, they'll go for this or the S8 (basically the same phone) and if you prefer iOS, you'll go for the iPhone Pro. Are there really that many people deciding between the Note and the Pro?
I'm sorry. Ur that's. It true. Whilst I agree there isn't much point in bashing Apple based on unknown features. However it's simply not true about the stylus on the note series. Some do not use it but many do and I've had 3 note phones and I've never lost the s-pen. My husband who is very careless had the note 3 and very lost the S-pen.Objectively this a comparison that doesn't make much sense. An unreleased phone with only mockups available that doesn't even come in the same screen dimensions. Bashing on about features like dual OIS yet not knowing if apple have that now. Bashing apple processors for some unknown reason, but admitting they're still faster. Showing a stylus that EVERY note 7 and before user either lost or put away, never to be used again.
I think the note line is a great phone minus the exploding issues, it was also stupid to continue the name IMHO there will be people out there who will on purpose try to make it catch fire for compensation. The media will go mental at the first fire. The iPhone could be almost anything right now all we have is a rough physical mocks with minor details, there might even be a plus model coming later to be a valid comparison.
The Note 8 camera does not protrude.

I do prefer iOS but the iPhone pro doesn't sound interesting to me.
The main thing is that it's going to be too small, especially when the competition are offering much bigger displays.
The price is also putting me off. On principal because I don't see anything cutting edge with the iPhone 8 hardware to warrant such a price. Particularly when android OEMs have offered the same for less for some time.
iOS 11 on the iPhone is a damp squid. Great on the iPad which prompted me to get the new 10.5 inch pro but not the new iPhone.
Agree! iPhone needs to get rid of the camera bump
Currently using the S8+ as my main phone.
I already pre-ordered the Note 8.
Also have an iPhone 7+.
The factors that really have to convince me to go for the iPhone 8. Battery size/life, how good Face ID is, and some type of wow factor. Otherwise, I'll just stick with the iPhone 7+ and wait for a 8S.
I'm concerned about battery life, cause my S8+ destroys my 7+ with onscreen life. 7+ has 2900mAh and S8+ has 3500mAh. The Note 8 will have 3300mAh. The Note 8 will be slightly less life or the same as the S8+. Which is very good. The questions is how much difference (if any) will the battery be between the 7+ and iPhone 8? And how much of a difference will the OLED screen make? I'm wondering if the 7S+ will get the biggest battery, but I'm not interested in that phone at all.
It's not the same as holding patents on the invention. They licensed (or whatever the terms) technology patented 30 years ago to make it slightly better than what is available today with still issues to be worked out.Samsung effectively invented OLED. The OLED tech by Kodak was not ready for production.
You clearly haven't used OLED phones from 2010. The display was terrible and it took Samsung years before it came to the LCD killer it is today.

Not much of a difference to actually objectively say the design wasn't copied. There is a difference between bezelless and smaller bezels. Samsung was first to do bezelless.
The S8 plus demolishes the 7 in battery life.It cannot unless it is much thicker, simple as that. God, why those this crap come up over and over and over.
The reason: physics and the increasing focus on the camera; there was no bump before was because the phone was thicker and the sensor smaller (there is no real choice in this matter).

Actual tests don't show this "destruction"... and the reason the battery is bigger is that IT IS A BIGGER PHONE.
Unless your using the phones in exactly the same way, you can't really judge their battery at all (and that's what reviews do).
This is up for debate if one is objective in the comparisons of different screen shots between the two cameras that are across the internet,Except Samsung have had the best cameras for a while now.
It's not debatable. The professionals at DX0MARK who are paid have concluded Samsung have better cameras. This is up for debate if one is objective in the comparisons of different screen shots between the two cameras that are across the internet,
I am running ios 11 on two 5s. I can't believe how much better the beta of iOS 11 is over 10.3.3 in every aspect. Of course some features are hidden for new hardware; 7s and iPhone x edition.Well you see I am the opposite. The iPhone 8/ pro is too small for me. And I'll be loose real estate over my 7 plus.

The 7s has nothing new.Its an iPhone 7 with a u[graded CPU and worless charging.I am running ios 11 on two 5s. I can't believe how much better the beta of iOS 11 is over 10.3.3 in every aspect. Of course some features are hidden for new hardware; 7s and iPhone x edition.
