You forget that it takes up to two years to develop new Hardware. So if shortly after the iMac USB devices apperard they have been in development long before.

As such I a with the OP: USB was coming before the iMac.

We can credit (and I'm not sure the "credit" is an appropriate word) Apple for the fact that some of these USB peripherals arrived in tacky translucent plastic cases. Fortunately, Apple realized that those designs were serious "fashion malfunctions" and moved on....

I always know the opposition is reaching when they start attacking me (back pedaling) instead o the topic.

hmmm... Sounds like you should take your own advice there.

I pointed out the 400% being meaningless with out numbers to compare it to the first time you brought it up.

You go and insult me saying I do not understand the numbers...... You insulting first.
Sound like yet again you get caught in your own words so again we are getting no were.

400% when there is very very few means nothings. It is just headline grabbing crap and if you do not believe that or understand that then you my friend truly do not understand the numbers and bought them hook line and sinker. You become an shinny example of the mass stupidity of the general public who does not understand numbers and why the media puts complete BS crap like that in head lines.

You need to stop reading headlines and see where the numbers are coming from and understand why 400% is really nothing more than headline grabbing and completely meaningless. You are spreading the fear mongering. Is your insecurity in Apple that bad that the only way you can defend it is to spread fear about other OS.

I would not say Apple realized anything. They are still form over function company and will greatly sacrifice functionality of something just to look pretty.

Samsung should really stick to making TVs...in my opinion they're the best on the market. Phones + Tablets may be out of their league.

There are a lot of TVs just as good as Samsung on the market today. If you are an Apple fan and you go out and buy a Samsung TV all you are doing is giving money to Samsung so they can continue this lawsuit. Choose a TV from another company that is not in the business of copying Apple designs. If you want an Android phone or tablet there are other companies like Motorola or HTC that are at least trying to make their user interface look somewhat original. My friend has a Samsung Galaxy S phone and the UI layout looks like nothing more then an iPhone rip-off.

I don't always agree with Apple on every lawsuit, but I do on this one after trying out a Samsung phone.

If you look at buying a new TV and don't buy Samsung because of this lawsuit, yes, that makes you a fanboy. I think these people are very, very rare indeed. Maybe the true fanboys avoid buying Apple products as well as long as they contain Samsung parts.

Does. Not. Compute. Are you also going to stop buying Apple products because they contain parts that Apple buys from Samsung?

So, if you were looking for a TV and the best model to suit your needs was made by Samsung, you wouldn't buy it because of your devotion to Apple?

Pathetic!

From the "I'm not a lawyer but I play one on TV" opinion folder (oh, but my roommate is a lawyer and looked at this)...

Apple has not released, announced, or demoed any of these products that I'm aware of. Just because there is stuff on rumor sites like here is legally irrelevant in a court of law.

Samsung hypes future releases unlike Apple so that is the reason Apple got access to announced, demoed, and released products in discovery.

That doesn't give Samsung legal access to everything Apple has in the sandbox.

This sounds more like a last ditch legal effort by Samsung to get Apple back to the negotiating table because Apple has far more to lose if this is granted. In other words, I'm saying it's a scare tactic.

I'll be shocked if the judge grants Samsung's request. And the fact that Samsung filed this kind of request hints to me that they don't think they have a good case against Apple and are just fishing for possible dirt or future infringement on Samsung patents to put more pressure on Apple to bargain.

But back to my essential point. As far as I know Apple has not even hinted at the existence of these products. Only rumor sites have. So where's the legal precedent for patent infringement here again?

Conversely, Samsung has demoed, announced, and even released some of the products Apple requested access to in discovery.

PREDICTION: Apple isn't going to back down to this unless Samsung is providing an EXTREMELY FAVORABLE settlement.

And let's not forget the other shoe to drop soon, Apple vs. HTC which has broad Google/Android repercussions that will affect various cell phone manufacturers. I don't really keep track of this, but if I had to bet the farm, I'd bet Apple's got a much larger patent folder than HTC.

Best you start with not buying a new iPhone and iPad — they contain evil Samsung display panels  .

AT&T Announces Samsung Infuse 4G with 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus Display

My husband's Thunderbolt with 4.3" screen is amazing (and blazingly fast with real 4G/LTE on Verizon), but a slightly larger AMOLED screen would be great!

Oh wait - this one's AT&T. Don't they sell another, last generation, smartphone with a smaller screen, no 4G, and warnings about how not to hold the phone to avoid shorting out the antennae?

Don't get me wrong, I still think the Android OS is a cluttered mess, won't be jumping ship anytime soon. And second If I got a new phone at this point in the game I certainly wouldn't get that one. That thing is far too large for one, and second, the specs really aren't all that good. Plus Samsung has the absolute WORST track record in the US when it comes to upgrading the software on their devices. If I'm not mistaken, most of the Galaxy S phones are still running Froyo. The only time I'd consider getting an Android device is if it was a pure Google experience device.

I will enjoy, however, no longer having to read posts from smug (and clueless) Apple fans talking about "UNIX security" and other nonsense.

I am curious why you have such a clear and obvious hate for Apple, yet you persist on posting on a forum for Apple fans. Maybe one day I can look forward to no longer reading posts from someone who has a serious vendetta against a company, yet continues posting on a fan forum of theirs? Nah, that'll never happen.

Totally agree. As much as people may love Apple they are all big companies who all do the same thing. I couldn't give a damn as long as the product is good.

Ignore lists have been with us for quite a while.

I use them for the opposite, the people who absolutely must praise Apple about everything and think MacRumors means "MacFansWithNoNegativeThoughtTowardsAppleAtAll"

As if there was any difference between the rabid fanboys and the ones who bash Apple at every turn.

No, but the people who bash Apple at every turn usually stick to stories where Apple is worthy of bashing so they don't bother me as much (do some of them do creep into the stories where Apple is worthy of praise to through in one last negative sometimes, but again, doesn't bother me as much because they tend to do hit and runs on those instead of sticking around like the praise guys do).

Need to see the prototypes so that they can copy better

I am surprised that Samsung would try this. Apple already sued them since Samsung was copying them and now Apple is supposed to show them a future version so that they can copy that as well?

Apple should tell the court that this lawsuit is about what Samsung has already done and revealing a future product that is still under development would put them at a disadvantage should Samsung or some other company attempt to copy the prototype.

News flash
Not a single gingerbread device avaialble in US (maybe droid x if the updates were released on friday night as scheduled)

Gingerbread updates have been available for quite some time now globally for galaxy phones but not in US due to individual carriers.

Then Apple should be looking for a new vendor for both the displays and the processors. It is not like Steve Jobs to continue to make a company rich that is stealing his ideas.

I bought a Sharp Quattron LED-LCD 46" HDTV and it appears to be every bit as good as the Samsung for a less money. I don't believe the whole idea that paying the premium price for the Samsung brand means it is the best TV on the market.
