Sure are his ideas and insights as “welcome” as others. Hope it’s still a democratic forum. But I was asking for some professional insight from a software developer/engineer and wasn’t waiting for that same old mantra I’ve been hearing over and over again. It’s like asking at the supermarket for a bread and getting an answer from a salesperson about a banana for half an hour, lol.
Good luck in finding the answer that resonates with you. The "spare me your thinking" was totally unnecessary in a friendly discussion.

In a normal discussion/situation I would totally agree with you and I would even apologize but I’m getting tired of this passive aggressive responses by not answering the question but repeating the same old mantra just to annoy you in an passive aggressive way.

I think this might be the first year ever where Samsung really has better phones than Apple. I am really wondering what Apple introduces at the September event.

Oh, just the thing pros prefer for lowest latency, highest bit rate and best fidelity without worrying about the battery dying after a few hours.

“Pros” would never rely on a DAC/AMP built into a mobile device. They simply don’t have anywhere near the output to drive any truly professional quality headphones (output as in power level or ability to drive complex loads).

I’m curious, do you actually own any high-end headphones? None of the ones I have sound good on any mobile device.

I find it funny that a lot of people think android is a privacy mess because in my opinion the difference in iOS and Android is minimal when comparing the latest OSes. For me it seems Android handles privacy the same way iOS does, namely you have a choice on App-level what it may or may not do.

I’m no technician nor a developer but from an outsider look it’s just marketing and an excuse on apple’s part to catch up with the quick development of Android.

Can a developer who has insights share his professional thoughts on this?

Not as funny as people who actually think there’s not much difference between iOS and Android. Why do you need a developer to explain things to you? There are numerous articles about this issue (one of them previously linked by Abazigal that you apparently didn’t read because you never really commented on it). Or perhaps you don’t agree with their conclusions and are looking for alternative opinions?

Here’s a couple examples:

Android Q will no longer allow developers to find out your IMEI or device serial number. Think about that one for a minute.

Android has APIs to allow developers to access your phone call log or SMS messages. iOS doesn’t. You could do some next level spying with these.

Android Q is finally adding the “While Using” permission. So now you aren’t forced to grant or deny permissions and worry about Apps doing things like location tracking in the background.

If you stated Android is starting to catch up to iOS in regards to privacy, you would be correct. But to state they’re almost equal is flat out wrong.

People can argue if they prefer S10 or Xs but It’s a FACT that S10E is a superior device compared to Xr.
only a blind fanboy would try to argue otherwise.

I’ll take S10E over ugly,budget,low res,single camera Xr anytime,anyday.

Huge?? It’s tiny compared to the top and bottom bezels on the old iPhones with home buttons.
compare it to real thin bezels of S10 and you will also see it’s huge.
S10 range simply bettered Xs/Xr design.
Fact.

Ok they’re not huge any way you look at it. Bigger than S10? Yes. But nowhere near “huge”. But I’ve always been of the opinion that this whole shrinking bezels craze has been a little overboard.

Agreed, I feel like a complete mug for paying what I did for the max and even the ipad pro. While I do love my ipad pro the cost of It was a joke but I plan to keep it for many years as I do find it very useful when at home e.t.c.

I don’t blame yourself for staying with what you use as I just can’t justify the prices for the higher iphone models for what you get. Do I see It changing this year? No given by the rumours of the iphone 11. The fact the charger is suppose to be still 5w charger says it all.
My last two upgrades have been the previous years model and that will continue as long as Apple keep on giving us overpriced minimal upgrades. I’d rather have all the features but save money. My 8+ might look a little dated in appearance but in terms of performance and what it can do, it’s doing everything a current iPhone is going to do. It might come to it where I just don’t upgrade and go sim only too.

It’s quite painful watching the likes of Samsung bring out phones that appear really interesting and impressive and then we defend Apples attempt through preference over iOS knowing it’s below par. They need to sort their pricing and direction out IMHO.

I think this might be the first year ever where Samsung really has better phones than Apple. I am really wondering what Apple introduces at the September event.

So my counter question, what are you saying that’s ‘better’ about the S10 phone over the iPhone? Not that you don’t have your reasons, but you didn’t post anything to lead the reader why you believe what you do.

(I.e. Is it the fingerprint sensor under the display, the return of the 3.5 mm Jack, expandable storage, etc.)

I always like to think that ‘better’ is a subjective term, because it completely varies what you consider better over what the next person might disagree with. I think Apple and Samsung make outstanding phones, but the experience doesn’t start at the hardware, it begins with the software [iOS/Android] and that is what devotes the user to stay loyal. The reason I say that, is because I think a lot of people think it’s all about the hardware, when it is not. Hardware is superficial, at least in today’s smart phone era, when it is now more about the stability and fluidity of the software.

Still waiting on the guy with the robots, but I've watched 7 different speed test and 5 out of 2 were Samsungs dominating. PUBG is faster on iPhone and Adobe Express, to make you feel better.

If you get rid of animations the a12 once again beats the 855. Apples animations are what hinders speed tests. My jailbroken x beats my s9+ with both animations off. So I expect my max to beat my future note 10 once substrate is enabled and I can remove animations

If this ends up being true then that is absolutely bonkers. I'd feel crazy to purchase absolutely anything else out there if I could get the S10e for $400. The phone is flagship in every sense of the word, not to mention -- small*!

*small = about the same size as the standard iPhone XS, which unfortunately is "small" these days

You can get the s10e even cheaper right now. Samsung is offering up to 550 dollar trade in on the s10e on their main website.

Oh, there are so many ways to go about arguing why the Xr is better. I don’t even know where to begin...
