My wife uses her EarPods with her iPhone 7.
What? She has lightning connected EarPods. As far as the adapter, I don’t have to remember to carry it as it’s part of the the daily toolkit. But using an adapter is not the same as a native solution. It’s one more thing you have to remember to carry. Also they stopped supplying the adapter with iPhone X.

So use them with the adapter. But let’s not make up hypothetical situations. In this case I would simply plug in the adapter.I want to use my Bose wired headphones with iPhone which needs the adapter. The sound quality blows the AirPods out of the water.
To be fair Apple have always made crap earphones though. I use them because I can get them in abundance due to company phones being stripped of their accessories where I work before they are handed out. I agree the adapter is a shoddy workaround as not everybody likes Bluetooth nor trusts it yet. It’s good to see Samsung keeping it on current flagships and I hope they continue to do that.I want to use my Bose wired headphones with iPhone which needs the adapter. Kind of like LeBron fanboys still screaming that he's the G.O.A.T. even with 6 finals losses vs. 6 finals wins. There's no getting through to these people. The only way they'd admit a phone was superior was if one slapped them in the face with an Apple logo on it. Otherwise, the brand worship will continue.
If that's your metric for determining the "GOAT" in any sport you seriously need to stop engaging in sports debates. Its so much more nuanced and complex than what your feeble argument brings to the table.
oh, and btw, Bill Russell is on line 2.
6 finals losses is a catastrophic failure. You aint GOAT with that on your resume.
This is so off-topic i'm going to leave it alone; but sure you can be with the achievement of reaching more Finals than MJ with the junk he dragged there nearly single-handedly. But it's a nuanced discussion you choose not to have since there is an actual debate to be had.
You're as utterly biased to one side of that topic as the Apple people you rail against in the other.
Unbelievably ironic.
And that is all from me. You're paper-thin and intentionally specific argument isn't even worth pusuing any longer anyway.
And keep ignoring that guy with 11 titles, tearing down your own rationale.

Yes if you are a fanboy you will say that.Oh, there are so many ways to go about arguing why the Xr is better. I don’t even know where to begin...

My use case is okay for me. YMMV. Many models to chose from that have the features at the price point you want.If you use multiple devices you will have to remove the adapter from the headphones and keep plugging them back for iPhone. Just carry around an iPad 2017 and an iPhone X and you will face this issue. You are bound to lose the adapter while switching. Don’t forget the dongles too for Apple laptops.
Yeah it's so overblown and the arguments against using an iPhone in this thread are so far off base because at the end of the day, those of us who choose to continue to use iPhones do so for our own reasons, but somehow those reasons aren’t good enough for the anti-iPhone commenters.

Taking away the jack didn’t create a problem for me. And yeah I finally knuckled under and bought the AirPods. Absolutely love them. But let’s be clear they are terrific to own and use.Your use case was still achievable with the jack. Taking away the jack only created a problem and solved nothing except perhaps increase AirPods sales for Apple.
So my counter question, what are you saying that’s ‘better’ about the S10 phone over the iPhone? Not that you don’t have your reasons, but you didn’t post anything to lead the reader why you believe what you do.
(I.e. Is it the fingerprint sensor under the display, the return of the 3.5 mm Jack, expandable storage, etc.)
I always like to think that ‘better’ is a subjective term, because it completely varies what you consider better over what the next person might disagree with.

I have 4 other Bluetooth headsets, including Bose qc ii. I wasn’t forced to get AirPods. Don’t understand the impression they are the only headset on the market, as if it’s an all or nothing proposition. Not only that the removal of the headphone jack didn’t stop me from using my wired headsets. No one had a problem with the jack. AirPods could still be used with it. The only reason it was removed was to force people to get AirPods.

AirPods are similar to the galaxy buds that work best with a Samsung phone and creates a headache with other phones. The AirPods work best with the iPhone compared to the other wireless gear on the market and surprisingly are also great value unlike their phones. Apple knows this and they exploited it. People are most likely to get the AirPods over the other wireless headphones.
Removal of the jack did nothing for those who were on wireless but created a problem for those on wireless with the adapter being a constant source of nagging to go wireless.
Yes.
