You can't go wrong with Samsung's 2.8" Android phone then.
Well, I could go wrong considering I develop for iOS primarily and am pretty entrenched in the Apple ecosystem (willingly) I'm perfectly happy with my iP4 for now. :)

I'm happy someone's making giant phones though. Someone obviously wants them.

well said, the YouTube app is embarrassing. i only use the website nowadays.

its also annoying to go into settings for every little thing. they could easily let siri handle some of this "turn off wifi/blue tooth" etc. stuff. i know i know siri is STILL beta

and why oh why is the lockscreen still of no use, they could do so much with it

something like this, of course prettier to be on apple standard

I always jailbreak ......cannot use an IOS device with no jailbreak...

Really?

No but I do know you're an anti-Apple troll. Why do you post here anyway?

Btw, who are most people besides yourself?

Hmm I wonder if you read the news at all. Samsung controls more of the smart phone market than Apple globally. Hence, the argument can be made that more people do, in fact, prefer Android. Although iOS is catching up.

Samsung to phone industry is the same as Hyundai to auto industry. They have stepped up their game quiet a bit but it is lower margin and price point versions of their superior competition. Usually looks like one of them too.

You do know that most people actually prefer Android phones, right? Perhaps they find those Android phones besting Apple products in terms of simplicity of design?

"Prefer"? I doubt it. Own? Yes. More people own Android phones than iPhones, but that's because of price factor -- most Android phones are given away free with phone plans.

Given the choice of an iPhone and an Android phone, purchase cost being equal, most people would pick the iPhone.

Well, competition never hurts.
nice, competition is good

I love watching everyone kowtow to the competition cult every time someone else's products show up here.

Competition isn't good just for the sake of it, it's only good when it adds something of value. 90% of the competition to Apple is a waste of resources.

That said, Samsung stands out:

Samsung is the only real competitor to Apple. Everybody else is losing money.

Indeed-- unlike their ham fisted peers, Samsung has some capacity to innovate, and I've been interested to see they're the one company that's managed to mount a reasonable advertising campaign.

Half of the innovation here is catching up with Apple (which, alone, is more than most "competitors" manage), but the other half is more significant-- particularly improvements to the cameras.

It doesn't hurt that Samsung wins even when they lose. They're making money from every iPhone sold...

It still uses a Pentile display

Had to read that a few times before noticing the 't' in Pentile... I kept thinking, "now there's a user interface with a gender bias..."

Monkey see, monkey do.

I'm disappointed Samsung. I was hoping for something innovative, not a re-iteration of past features from Apple. Catching up does not get you my purchase, and I'm not even tethered to Apple.

Also, that oblong shape annoys me. Don't know what it is; perhaps it's all that bezel.

iPhone obviously might be cranked up brighter and it is brighter than Samsung's AMOLED screens but in general it does look washed up compared to OLED screens because those have much better (infinite) contrast ratio.

Every one I've seen is far too oversaturated.

Looks like a nice device. The drop box option is very nice, though shame it isn't for the life time of your phone.

Though… not for me - too large device.

Dam!! It's as wide as my Uncle Charlie for Pete's Sake!

Don't need 4.8 in a phone. Can you imaging attempting to "Discretely" check the screen? LOL.

wow, apple cloned company named samsung which also has it features

made em all bigger and plastic!

dropbox 50gb
4.8 inches screen
s cloud
etc

seriously ..... seriously!!

is it so hard to make your own path

yeah that sucks so now you have to wait for the new jailbreak to come out.... i want it fro my ipad 3 since now they have that new 100% window based mutli talking app... called quasar

http://www.idownloadblog.com/2012/04/28/quasar-ipad-multitasking/

Yes this looks pretty neat. Theres also this app whos name i cant recall for the iphone which lets u open the multitask thing with a swipe up and closing the app with one swipe down. Loved that one too, especially since the homebutton on my old 4 is nearly broken

But now, seriously... Do you guys thinks AMOLED is better than Retina Display?
I mean, every android I saw with AMOLED seems utterly blue to me, seriously!

Every one I've seen is far too oversaturated.

Here is what TechRadar has to say about this (with respect to SGS3): "It seems Samsung has tweaked the colour balance on the Galaxy S3 as well – things don't look as saturated as before, which will certainly help entice those that previously were against Super AMOLED before due to the harshness of colours."

That samsung screen is just NOT BIG ENOUGH. I was looking for a 6"+ screen. No, I already have an iPad 3.
