I emailed Notes Plus and they got right back to me. You can customize options so I was able to replace the typing icon with the highlighting icon in portrait mode. Now it's perfect.

I have stopped using Notesplus used to use it very regularly some months back I also purchased their in APP feature of converting handwriting to text just seem to be forgetting right now, does anyone know ? how to do it ! Need to be reminded long time no use :D

The tap the little wrench in the upper right and it gives you the option.

Here you go...

As a teacher, I have been using Notes Plus very successfully with my iPP and Apple Pencil for a few months now. I posted here a few weeks ago but I can't say enough about Notes Plus, it really is brilliant and I cannot do with it. The update was long overdue but it is now up to date and as good as ever.

So far I like Notes Plus. It's doing what I need just playing with it. We'll see what happens as I start using it seriously. The current "sale" includes the text recognition feature with purchase. That could be useful for sharing.

is this the latest version ? I am on the latest version 4.10 and that does not show the top bar as it is showing in your picture ! Still can't seem to figure how do I use my in-app purchase that I had made of converting handwriting to text !

Looks almost identical to what I just bought, depending on where you scroll the upper right options.

Did you by chance hide the menu bar? This is toggled on and off with the little grey boomerang at the upper right corner of the note page.

Very nice daily planner. Did you make the template or is it part of the program? I'd like to copy it.

I'm also pondering Notes Plus even though I really like Notability, but I can't tell if it's just because I see such pretty examples. There isn't really anything that Notability *doesn't* do that I need.

The main thing is that NotesPlus the nicest inking of any note taking app. Far ahead of OneNote and Notability. To me the main issue is that it lacks a Mac app.

It does have really nice inking and it has a great selection of page templates. It doesn't have a Mac app but I save it to Dropbox and I can access it anywhere. I only need it for my iPad so am ok that it doesn't work on my MacBook.

In addition to the fantastic inking, NotesPlus has a couple of other unique features that separates it from the others. It has the gestures that allow you to delete words or individual letters simply by scratching them out with the pencil, saving you from having to toggle back and forth between the eraser and the pen tools. NotesPlus also has a built-in Web browser that allows you to quickly and easily cut and paste text or images from Web pages without leaving the app. If the audio recording would track along with your written notes (like Notability), there would be no reason for me to use another note taking app.

I'll offer an alternative POV in that I don't particularly like Notes Plus's inking. I think that it's overly smoothed, which is visible while you are writing - the previous letter is smoothed as you move on to the next one - and that smoothing makes the handwriting pretty, but nothing like my own - in fact the examples I see posted here looks very similar to how my writing looks which means we are looking at the smoothing algorithm not our actual handwriting. Notability and Goodnotes have no visible smoothing which is less distracting, and the text may not be as pretty, but at least it looks like my own.

I like Notes Plus more and more. I've been using it heavily this week. I find that I can rearrange lists easily with it, and love the fountain pen nib. I do need to write an iTunes review.

You might have swayed me to give Notes Plus a try. I annotate a lot of PDF's but my handwriting is dog sheet. Some smoothing would be good for me.
