Yea man...karma is a real bitch! I can take my iPad back to Sam's Club, get a brand new in box iPad while Apple gets my old one back when they could have just given me an open box probably refurbished unit in the store. Yep, karma sure showed me!

Maybe karma hasn't finished with you yet though... but if Apple are changing their replacement policy either officially or unofficially it's probably because of people abusing it in the past.

The funny part is that these same people giving you crap right now would be the first ones here bitching if it happened to them. Just because you spoke your peace and bad mouthed Apple, you are now a heretic.

I, for one, hope that at least Sam's gets you sorted since Apple let you down.

Karma isnt a Bitch, but the OP definitely is... And i'm someone who agrees that there is problems with the new iPad

Any issues with the replacement? Congrats on finding a way! <3 SAMs return policy as well, better than :apple:'s.

Most of you guys are insane. You'd rather live with a faulty device because it's an apple product? Totally insane and I do agree with the guy that said some retarded people are smarter than you guys.

Here's my take: Every story has two sides. We only hear one side. Even if we could hear both sides, unlike the OP, the store employee would not be allowed to use words like "screw you, customer", or to do things that would reflect badly on the company, like lying about things.

Wait, if you could just take it back to sam's and replace it, then what is the problem here? Your complaining because you could not get a replacement, but you can at the store you purchased it at. Seems like you should have taken it back to Sam's in the first place. It is what I would have done, since it would have been, faster, and have gotten a new in box one.

Last September i bought my new 13,3 MacBook Air.
From the first time i noticed that the surface of the track pad does not respond in some points (top right and bottom left corners), so i had to take it to an authorized service provider where the track pad was replaced without the problem being solved (the answer of the service provider was that i have to press my finger harder or click on another point... ). Taking it back home I realized that the Air was not charging so I had to take it back to the service store . After the charging issue was solved the whole first row of keys (except the volume buttons) stopped working...
3rd time to the service where the whole keyboard was replaced. I have to say that each time the air goes to the service stays there for a week or more because there are not spare parts available.
Few days ago when i tried to power up my air i noticed that it was not charging again and the problems with the keyboard appeared again , but unfortunately 5 hours later it started charging but the first row button plus the right shift were dead again...
So i decided to make the big step! Contacted Apple to complain for the problems and ask for a replacement( i paid almost 2000$)........and the answer was: “Go it back to the service again and if in the future same problems appear we may talk for a replacement"
Ok i am tired, angry, i can not do my job, i am spending many hours going again and again to the service and the answer it “take it one more and we will see??
I am a dedicated apple customer since 1993 Apple II SE,i have never faced such problems and that is one reason that i pay double the price than a normal pc.
I also cannot understand the way that apple treats its customers.

This is the result of "My screen's too bright" and "My screen's got some dirt on it" and such.

Idiots who return their perfectly good iPads that have "light bleed" when the crank their brightness up to 100% and sit in a pitch black room have screwed over people with genuine issues.

It's pathetic and these people should be ashamed of themselves.

You are right, that is part of the problem. However, people should be smart enough to read and see that this is a legit hardware issue. He clearly has tested it within his abilities and posted that up.

Who are you to judge? Praying is as useless as giving 10% of your paycheck to the Easter Bunny! <roll eyes>

annnnnd who are you to judge that praying is useless?

praying is more than just talking to yourself. if your heart isnt right its hard to hear/see answers.

maybe it has been useless for you?

God said it was useless. I mean the Easter Bunny did.

Not saying anything about your wifi issue, but I always thought of Apple as being too generous when it comes to support, particularly for what I consider minor issues. Wifi not working as expected, compared to your other devices seems like a legitimate issue. Maybe try contacting phone support. Don't give up.

Many wifi issues may be due to the area the person with problems is in. Apple cannot control the radio noise of your area. If you are on the fringe of coverage or you are near somebody who chats on their cordless phone a lot, they cannot do anything about these very real deterrents to wifi performance.

Microwave ovens can be a source of radio noise. baby monitors and walkie talkies.

It is not Apple's fault.

If I lay two exact iPads side by side and one fails while the other does not, it is not environmental.

So it is Apple's fault.

Why don't you bring it in again and say it has yellow/pink tint issue with your screen? Others seem to have gotten multiple replacements with that excuse.

Yet the OP's problem appears in one environment and not another . . .

Not at all...

As posted earlier (man I wish you people would read). It is possible that his home router has a weaker signal than Apple's. This could mean that one iPad is stronger than the other but considering that they should be the SAME, they both should work fine on any network. Just that alone tells me that his iPad has a hardware problem connecting to a weaker signal where his wife's does not. Thus, he has a hardware related problem and it should be swapped as it does not meet the standard.

Shorter wpotere: I thought of one possibility, therefore it is the only possibility.

And that helps those with real issues how?

I can't believe this thread continues. The tro...I mean OP is clearly off out to get his new iPad from Sam's Club.

Shorter Carouser: I have never done a lick of troubleshooting in my life.

FYI, we can do this all day long. What you are aiming at is something like this. My car engine is making a noise, maybe my dishwasher has a problem?

If it's near the router and the signal is super strong, then it seems fine...and that's why it was fine at the Apple store...but if I go in the backyard or in one of the farther rooms in the house, the signal drops to 1 or 2 bars or it loses it completely and then comes back on it's own, while the other devices in the house works fine.

That appears to indicate it's not a problem with the iPhone. If it works when you're next to the router (where the signal is strongest), then the iPhone is working.

When you get further away, the signal becomes weaker, especially when there are walls and doors between you and the router. If your router is dual band, or you can set the operating frequency, set it to the 2.4GHz band as that has a further reach than the 5GHz band.

The other devices in the house that work fine could just be better at picking up a signal than your iPhone.

I can use my galaxy s2 in the garden but that has an entire plastic body, so the signal penetrates it easily. That "cheap" material sure is great for signal :p

Does your wife's iPhone work further away from the router than yours does? If so, that may indicate a problem.

If you really can't persuade them to replace it, you may wish to consider a range extender/access point to add to your existing network. They're not expensive.

I am on my 8th iPad and am getting increasingly annoyed with the terrible quality control. For the most part I can mostly put up with the screen tint, but I cannot stand scratches, dead/stuck pixels, dust under the screen and excessive light bleed RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. All 8 iPads I have had either one or more dead pixels, or a peices of dust under the screen, and 4 of those have even more surprising issues. And what starting to get a little bit upsetting is the attitude that the employees have been giving me, one of them going so far to call me anal. I miss the days where I can walk into a store to get a defect free product on the 1st shot, me like many others, am a loyal apple customer, and I want the quality products apple used to make (heck, i still have my iMac G3 that is working perfectly fine after 14 years.)

Also, just to list the ones I have had:
1st: cluster of dead pixels or cluster of dust
2nd: Dead pixel and a piece of dust stuck under the screen
3rd: Dead pixel and 1 LED backlight dead, making a very dark orb on the side of the screen, also damage out of the box
4th: 2 Pieces of dust stuck under the screen and a green bright stuck pixel
5th: Major Light leaking from an angle (like this:http://att.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1342106) and a dead pixel
6th: clusters of clusters of dead pixels or dust
7th: Very deep, dark scratches out of the box all over the back of the iPad, and a dead pixel
8th (current): Dead pixel and dust stuck under the screen, also after I went home I realized there were smaller scratches on it too

This is not me being picky, for the most part I can accept minor things like screen tint, but these are huge issues I should not have to settle with, I have asked a few of my friends if they would accept that, and they also said no, one of my friends even has an iPad 3 with NO PROBLEMS WHATSOEVER, even after me examining it.

then quit buying them.....wait a little bit. why is the 9th one going to be the charm?

You are absolutely right, it may not be, but unfortunately my stores new manager doesn't think that dead pixels are a manufacturing issue, just me being picky, so i don't think they will replace under my AppleCare (that i even paid $100 extra for the AppleCare+) but I have been to 4 different stores, and tried different models of the 64GB 4G (AT&T and Verizon). Unfortunately, I really cannot abandon the iPad platform (and really need version 3 for testing of retina apps) because I am a iPad software developer (which is funding a bigger project i am working on), besides that, i also use the iPad everyday because of the LTE and portability when I cannot have my MacBook Pro and my iPhone is too small for serious work (yes, i can accomplish serious work on it, it has become much better at being a creation device in the last 2 years.) Trust me, I have thought about it, but it really cannot be an option for me.
