They may announce it in Sept or Oct, but I have a feeling you'll be really lucky to get one before 2017.

The challenge is to improve the feature set significantly (otherwise it won't sell), at the same time not piss off existing owners.

By stretching out the releases between models, it may lessen the pain for those early adopters who may feel their AW1 has suddenly dropped in value.

"Minor form factor tweaks"?! As a fashion accessory, you'd think form factor tweaks would be one of the top priorities.

If they make the straps incompatible I'll hunt Ive down!!
they will tell you its for your own good, the clasp hold better and its slimmer and weights 0.001 ounce less. Then present you w 50 new watchbands every month

Can we see some new MACS please? Nobody cares about the stupid watch. This company has lost its way.

No GPS = no buy.

I'll also add no 4gig of memory = no buy.

I want complete unthethering from my iPhone while engaged in fitness. I want the same room as my Shuffle for MP3s and also the ability to stream music from Spotify etc. Complete fitness untethering.

This. No GPS is a dealbreaker for most people for the 2nd version.

Built in GPS (or preferably cellular) is essential for me. I don't want to take a watch and a phone when I go for a run or bike ride (that promo they showed at the launch with Christy Turlington running in Africa with a huge iPhone strapped to her arm was ludicrous). Cellular would be outstanding.

But based on past performance, I expect, new bands, slimmer, faster processor, new colors and all that other stuff they seem to be substituting for innovation nowadays. I hope I am wrong.

The most dull Apple product since 1998. Instead of a great, smart personal assistant and health tracker we got laggy iWatch. It took a lot of efforts and a touch of genius to turn it this way.

Make a version with round case!

Just did a mockup to imagine what it would look like:

Do want!

I know some content like text and photos wouldn't display as well in a circular display, but the prettiness is worth the compromise IMO.

I might do mockups of the stainless steel version and other bands when I have time.

Why do they keep spreading this rumor about built in cellular. That is not going to happen as it would completely up-end the entire device's operating model. I personally have no interest in a cellular watch.

I hope gen 2 of the watch is more waterproof. I think Apple is missing out on a lot of the sports smartwatch market by having such a fragile and non-waterproof design.

I like your mockup, but I seriously doubt that anything like this is in the cards from Apple for the next several years.

I wear my Apple Watch in the shower, swimming in the lake and pool, water skiing, and working out when I'm covered in sweat. What more are you looking for? I don't think they are going to make it a diving watch.

Just another revenue stream for Verizon and AT&T. No thanks.

They may announce it in Sept or Oct, but I have a feeling you'll be really lucky to get one before 2017. I still remember waiting about a year (or it felt that way) for my 1st gen Apple Watch.

I'll be ordering the new one as soon as they let me.
Samsung is announcing the Gear S 3 first week in September. It would be in Apple's interest to announce the Apple watch 2 then also. Delaying availability would not be a good idea.

Built in cellular capabilities is a major advantage! That means you can leave your iPhone at home when going on shorter excursions. I hate bringing the iPhone to a club or other 2 - 6 hour happenings. GPS would be nice.

Battery life is already 'All day' - unless Apple can get it up to two full days, I don't see the point. We'll still charge it up each night.

Better battery but same battery life. The extra juice will power the faster processor and GPS.

Exactly. What would be more interesting is a faster way to charge, so that instead of charging at night it can be worn for sleep tracking.

Do you own the current Watch? I only ask because I'm sure I've seen comments from users who do track their sleep with the watch. They charge it in the morning while they're getting ready for work, and that gets it up to 100%.
