Sept 20th orders with October ship date, Apple.com buyers. [MERGED]

When I tried to do that there were issue with me buying the phone due to I had to use my name to help my friend's family to open a verizon account last year. So I had to call Apple.com and cancel the order (they can't cancel the order for me in the store, WTH). After I cancel it, the sale took the phone back to the storage room and told me I can't buy the phone as device only?? The phone is foe in-store-pickup only. You have to order it with contract and with in store pickup option. They can't sell it any other way! Different store has different policy I guess. I just have bad luck.... sigh!

I'm sorry to hear that. I have read what others have done in purchasing contract AT&T/VZN phones is they let the store rep open the box first to activate the phone in the store and then ask to buy it at full price. I guess since the box is open, they can no longer return it to the shelf and sell it to other potential buyers and so they are forced to sell it.

I ordered a 64GB gold on September 20 at 11:00am (PST) from the online apple store. My status only said "available to ship October", which was driving me crazy lol. My order status changed from "processing" to "preparing for shipment" this morning ... I'm hoping I'll get my phone by the end of next week ...

I ordered the same model and colour as you, and mine changed status this morning as well. Do you know approximately when yours changed status, this morning?

I ordered the AT&T 64GB gold, 9/20 @ 10AM PT. Noticed the conflict in processing and preparing to ship around midnight last night. Hope we all get some action soon. I've got Gold Fever!

If it's gonna ship, most people seem to be getting the notice around 2 am.

I just ordered a silver 32GB AT&T yesterday (Thursday 10/10) afternoon. I'm kind of hoping I can get it by next Thursday so I can activate it the second my old contract with Verizon ends. But I knew I needed to get it ordered before then to waste less time before I get it. I'm dying here with 3G.

You guys keep coming with the updates. Since silver isn't quite the popular item as gold, I'm hoping things will start moving quickly after the initial purchase swarm is relieved.
 
Updates on my order:

I called apple and asked why my order was so delayed. The rep told me that I had a note on my file for review. Basically, because I changed the shipping address to receive it at the office instead of at home, I was basically placed back at the end of the line as they had to "verify the new address". I was very upset as it felt like all the weeks I had waited were all for naught.

Then a couple of hours later, my friend who works near Apple said she saw them receiving shipment. So she got in line right away and purchased one for herself and one for me!

I'm glad my order was still in processing so I was able to cancel it pretty easily.

I am typing this from my new gold iPhone right now actually. :D
 
Those bastards! I just check my iPhone status and it finally has a deliver date instead of October. It says:

Available to ship: October 24-28
Delivers: Nov 1 by 2-3 Business Days

That means I've wait for more then 6 weeks for my iPhone when I order on launch day September 20th. That also mean that I haven't had an iPhone for 6 weeks when my iPhone 5 broke the day after I order for no reason. They gave me this lame excuse. I was a little mad but I am beyond steaming mad now!! I would call to complain but I don't have a phone to call with:mad::mad::mad:

When, where, and what model did you order again? And where did you check the status at?

Good morning, everyone!

I can finally put all the stress and speculation behind me. Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement, throughout this journey we shared together! :)

As of 1:46 am, my baby has packed its bags, and is on its way home. Will keep you all posted on the itinerary, and it's expected to show up on the 23rd (although I highly doubt it taking that long).

Still in China at the moment, I wonder if it will catch the 9 am flight out of Incheon? I guess that's the fun, now. :D


EDIT: The 23rd is what Apple predicted. (and as always) Their estimate was wrong, and UPS has quoted the 18th.

Oops, I was on Tapatalk so didn't see your signature. So if you ordered on the 20th, and it says Available to ship 10/24-28, I can't even imagine when mine will be available to ship for my order placed 9/30. Sigh.

It only shows Available to ship: October for mine, and mine was placed Sept 30, so considering that yours was on launch day and it says shipping on Oct 24-28, I wonder if Apple can still keep the ship in Oct for my order like they said.

Went from Preparing for Shipment back to Processing.
Available to ship: October 24-28
Delivers: Oct 30 by 2 Business Days

I wouldn't put too much stock in that. Apple will quote a date to give them enough time (with allowances for unforeseen circumstances). If it's ready earlier (which it think it will be), then it will ship.

I'm pretty sure it will be delivered somewhere on November 2013. I just don't understand why I was pushed back in line when I ordered on the 20th. Some people ordered way later than mine and got their phones shipped. Oh well..
