Alright well I am super pissed. Called apple and all she could tell me was that my phone will ship this month. She could not explain the status change or why my cc has a pending charge. Basically just kept saying she doesn't know but that my order is processing right now. So they did charge my card yesterday but order went back to processing and all apple can tell me is I don't know over and over. She didn't even offer me anything. I think I am going to call back tomorrow when I have calmed down and complain.

people...if your card has been charged your phone is shipping within a day or two. Don't worry about the status updates, they are always lagging. This has been the case for the last 5yrs

That wasn't a case of lagging.

(According to their posts) The status actually changed to "preparing" and then back to "processing".

Oh hell no... this is not good news at all.

Somebody console me, I don't want to go back to processing!:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

Let's all just take a breather. No one needs to be going backwards!

Well actually the charge is pending and has not gone through. The apple rep kept saying it hadn't been charged and won't be until my phone ships. She could not explain the pending charge at all. I hope you are right but I am not feeling good about this.

same thing, the systems are all messed up as usual. Phone will ship, they do not charge your card until the phone box is actually scanned. Sits in another pile then gets processed again.

I am home from work, in my pjs and waiting for the ups guy/gal. Cause you all wanted to know.

BOO! The last thing we want is to check this thread for the zillionth time today, only to find someone who ordered hours before us posting about how they're about to have the phone in their hands in a few hours (or less). Boo.

On the positive side, enjoy your new toy. Hopefully we will all be joining you next week.

I'm so sorry, man.:(

At this point, I'm resigned that we're all inevitably gonna get that message.

Just burst my bubble of elation, god dammit!!!!!:(

Lolz, this just happened to me too. Meh, I'll just wait it out. I would rather have a fresh factory unit than one of the earlier PCBs. I have my fingers crossed for units that don't have any defects and are already calibrated correctly. In any case, there should have been more units available on launch day. I'm thinking that the short supply is due to poor supply chain management and demand forecasting. If I know that factory well enough, it also means that there are production issues with the PCB as well as the casing which is still using freaking "book matching" process for the glass and chamfered edge junk. I'm not thrilled with the materials for the 5 series so hopefully 6s will be better.

Oh absolutely! I'm gonna get on the horn, and raise hell over at Apple.

I'm still hoping that I'm going to be spared from this travesty. Trying to remain positive... again.:(

Does anyone tip their ups driver?

Just saying... isn't that kind of an insensitive question to ask people when: a) none of our phones have even left China. and b) some people just suffered a unforeseen setback.

To answer your question: it depends on your own personal preference. Do you already know who your delivery person is? If so, you can choose to tip them. If not, then it's a judgement call.

I meant no offense and I don't see how asking about tipping a ups driver is insensitive. Isn't that a good thing? A nice gesture to a hard working American?

Not that it's offensive to tip a fellow hard working American. By all means, you could even tip your neighbour on a daily basis.

I'm just saying that tipping is something you choose to do of your own accord. There are no unwritten rules that if you were not to tip the driver, they would never deliver you a package again. They would most likely remember your kind gesture, and be pleased to deliver your packages on a regular basis.

Where it's kind of insensitive, is mentioning that, when basically no one else here is in a similar scenario. Would we like to be able to tip our drivers, and receive our phones? Sure we would. The people in the few posts above yours, just had their hearts torn out. False alarm or not, people here have been waiting a minimum of 19 days. It is a big deal for us, when we see a change.
