I had 8 iPhones gold 16 gb Att placed between September 23-25th. Called apple this morning and the gentleman offered expedited shipping and free cases.

When I noticed my orders never updated I called back and found out expedited was only put on one of my orders and because he also ordered cases they could not go back to add free shipping. sounds strange. Said he had to do it at the same time as case order. Odd

A Senior Apple Adviser can move mountains (if you know what I mean). ;)

The wait is on, for Monday morning...:( Will more than likely catch that flight out of Incheon.

I love how UPS can get a phone halfway around the globe in a matter of 12-16 hrs, but the last leg of the journey (to deliver it) takes almost a day and a half.

Meh, could be worse. ;)

Still processing...(Shipping 24-28 Oct, Delivery by Nov 4)

I hope you're right ! Getting that email after you cancel ? Typical of this whole launch.

Can you imagine that they must be experiencing a High Volume of Order Status call. That means Loss of resources/revenue for Apple. Just to calm everyone, who ordered long ago, they are just blasting those e-mails (without even bothering if someone has already cancelled or not)

Hey Mike..it's gonna be just 5 more days and you'll finally have it. How about posting some pix by then with your best cases? :D

I'm just way too excited for this ordeal to be over with.

Sure, no problem!:D

As for best cases... being the dunce I am, the free case I got covers the entire back. Probably just gonna take the pics in the nude (the phone, that is).;):D

Don't know why everyone's jumping off the wagon. You've waited this long, and (unless I missed some important press release from Apple) stock levels don't seem to rising drastically as of yet. Why not continue to wait? If there is anyone to blame for this fiasco, it's Apple. They should have had more stock to begin with. The next group right after them, are the scalpers on ebay, CL, or Kijiji. Seeing an opportunity to fleece people who are "extremely desperate" for the 5s, they collect a king's ransom for it. The main reason there is no stock in stores (at least here in Canada), is because of these people who buy up everything, and create false demand.

If you received an email to complete a customer service survey, then blast Apple through that. You'll probably get someone higher up, listening.

If you're jumping off because you either do not want the phone anymore, or are changing to a competitor's phone, do whatever floats your boat. If you're cancelling because you want to send Apple a message, you're a little too late at this point. They won't thank you or feel bad, your phone will just be given to someone else.

its down because they're probably figuring out what's next babble BS they gonna feed us for those who've been waiting since launch.

The first time in a while that my delivery status hasn't changed. Still holding at the 25th. We'll see.......

Agree 100%.

I think scalpers are one of the biggest problems in situations like this. It's really unfortunate.

TBH though, I think people are overreacting a bit. I agree that the situation is not ideal and quite annoying, but I still think that waiting a few weeks isn't going to make a huge difference in the long run.

I think Apple made a pretty big mistake when they sent out mass emails with such conservative delivery dates. People are freaking out more now than they were when it was just "October." I think that if you ordered on the 20th, the chances of you having to wait until Nov. to get your phone are close to zero.

Oh absolutely. I don't see any scenario, where people who ordered on the 20th don't get their phones (at least leaving the factory) by next week. Unless of course over this upcoming week, there is no production whatsoever out of that plant. You're in line, and they will not forget you.

One other point I just realized, when checking the serial code of my 5s. It's production week was listed as September 30th to October 6th. That means that (if accurate) there is almost a week's worth of testing involved. Contrary to popular belief, they must still test the phones... not just package them up, right after assembly.

I hope that is true, and that apple is doing their best to maintain the quality of their phones despite the overwhelming demand. Sure, there will always be phones that somehow fall through the cracks, but it would be *much* worse if a large portion of the phones shipped were defective. Even thinking about it makes me cringe. ><

Just for the record... what's making you cringe, is not necessarily a defective phone. It's the idea of the lack of readily available iPhones as recourse, should yours be defective. If there was no shortage whatsoever, a replacement could be sent to you in another day or two.;):D

Anyways, let's just hope for the best. Apple knows what they're doing, and such an occurrence is probably less than 10 in a 100,000.:)

Agree 100%. They (Apple guys) should limit online purchases to 2 phones per customer - at least for the first couple of months. Its a policy which they implemented in walk-in purchases (in at least 1 NY apple store) so its not entirely alien to them.
