I was just going to ask a similar question. I really don't understand how they can get away with this kind of insulting BS. I guess I could call in and bitch at someone and get a free case or some small pittance, but really I could care less. I want my freaking phone!

My original order at midnight failed due to AT&T's broken system (that's another story), so my order didn't go through until around 8am on September 20. yet almost a MONTH has passed now and I could get the same shipping date? Seriously? I have been a dedicated Apple fan for so many years, pimped them to so many friends and family, but I am close to being done with their tired bullcrap posturing.

I too could care about a free case, just ship my phone ! Ordered launch day at 6AM EST and still at processing. I have a tentative ship date of the 18th with delivery on the 25th, we'll see. My cc has had an authorization for 797.00 since the 9th.
Here's what bugs me a little. Some people calling Apple to lodge complaints about the delivery time just to get free stuff and they just ordered a week ago ! To each their own I guess, I just wouldn't take advantage of the situation like that after a week. Now, if you've been waiting a month like us, by all means call and complain !!'

Abuse of the system... what are you gonna do. As soon as the word "free" is thrown around, people start circling like vultures. People who have been waiting almost a month, have a legitimate gripe. Waiting only 1 week? Those people sure have some balls. Isn't that complaining a little premature?

Checked http://iphone-check.herokuapp.com and saw a 64gb Gold available. Canceled online order that was placed on October 20th 3:26PM and called att immediately to have upgrade reversed. Ordered phone now I'm waiting on email saying when I can pick it up. Try this app guys, I check every so often and it finally worked out. Good luck

Yeah, but actually going in for the kill ! Not wanting a case but actually getting expensive earphones. Lol there must be some angel Apple reps out there. :)

I ordered at 8:44am EDT on the 20th and never once even thought about calling Apple, my shipment said "October" when I ordered. It was shipped in October, and I will get it tomorrow. In OCTOBER. I fail to see what Apple has misquoted.

While I will agree that Launch should have been Oct 20th not September 20th.

Hey, by all means go ahead! You deserve it.

I'm just saying that the people who have been waiting less than two weeks, are just taking advantage of the situation. That's poor taste on their end.

OMFG I would kill someone!!

Yea, same here.

The delivery guy was kind of an a**, though. I wasn't going to open the box, I just wanted to look at the taping on it and feel the weight of it in my hands.

On the other forum, people said the package feels very light but I would say it's obvious that the box is or is not empty. The iphone comes with the charger, ear buds, and the lightning cord so there is some significant weight to the package.

The problem is not that Apple quoted "October" as a ship date. In that sense, you're right that Apple is meeting what they quoted us on launch day. The problem is that people who ordered within the first 8 hours of launch are getting the same ship dates as those ordering more than 3 weeks later (same model/size).

Honestly the phone is so light, that you can't tell by tapping. If there are any noticeable changes in the taping of the box, then yeah somebody might have tampered with it.

Oh no, not me. There was a post earlier in this thread in which the headphone thing happened. I don't have the balls to do that.

A counter argument to your point, is that no one truly knows when the phones are leaving. Just because you get the same estimate, doesn't mean the result will be the same. Apple did not say that your phone will ship on October 20th, and that every phone order made today will also be shipped on the 20th.

They gave an estimate, and it can be shipped anytime between then. Apple won't dissolve into chaos and anarchy when it comes to fulfilling orders. They have a system, and it will be completed properly.

Very good point, and I'm inclined to agree with you. Furthermore, my hope and anticipation hinges on that fact being true: that they will end up shipping phones in the order they were received and that the next time they ship out gold 32gb phones (which I ordered) will be this week rather than October 24th (the estimate I received).

Oh sorry about that. I read your post, the wrong way. :)

Anyways, getting a case is fine (because I'm sure Apple is making a healthy profit on those anyways). Just don't be an ass, by demanding the whole nine yards. They're being kind in offering you something; just take it, and be happy.

That's my two cents.

They are catching up on demand, what do you expect? Apple to sit on the phones for 3 weeks so that the ship times are "fair"?

There was a week long holiday in China that was the major cause of this Delay. As soon as it was over Apple made adjustments to it's 5c lines and switched them to 5s lines and now are making even more phones per day. The ship times are going to be shorter now. Hell they will drop to 1-3 days eventually. Maybe even before Nov 1st. GASP!

I hope Apple doesn't "sit on the phones for 3 weeks". Are they really making 3 weeks-worth of phones in a single batch that can be sent out on Oct 24th? I doubt it. I'm just saying that if they're really catching up on demand, then they should have more phones in stock now that they can use to fulfill those launch day orders.

Imagine if you walked into a restaurant and placed your food order immediately. You wait for 2 hours but your food doesn't arrive, and then another party walks in and places their order. When you ask the waiter about your food, he says the kitchen is catching up. Then both your food and the other party's food arrives at the same time. Would you return to that restaurant? I wouldn't.

Not saying it's the same situation/industry with Apple, but that's kinda how I feel right now.

It's a guess, and an over estimation. Because so many fools are complaining saying they want a more specific ship time. So they say the 24th most likely because they are seeing the phone trend down and they know how many by the 24th they will make. It's most likely simple math when you have the info they have. They are not going to quote a time that they might fail.

Thanks. Apple put a pending charge on my CC last Thursday morning...and an Apple rep told me that they have 5 business days to ship the phone once the pending charge goes on (otherwise they deal with bank issues of removing the pending charge). Not sure how true that is, but I'm hoping it is.

I hear you on the old phone...I am still using a 4, which is frustratingly slow (at least it works).

Haha I wonder how they're going to ship out AppleCare to me within 5 business days… without the phone lol :D

That is completely irrelevant. Yes, Supply will catch up to demand. However, if you ordered on Launch Day within the first 12 hours, you should not have the same ship date as someone who ordered today. Nor should there be reports of people ordering days after us launch dayers that have had their order ship out with the exact same phone model...I believe that is the problem that most of us are having with Apple and this launch.

That's the point exactly ! Is it that hard for people to understand the concept of first come, first served ??

Now I know why parents get so worried/angry, when their children do not check in. Half an hour after landing in Anchorage, and I still don't know if she was on the plane...

That......

I called in today about my order again. Still no news..... I am leaving the country Oct 31 evening and my estimated delivery is Nov 1 which is not going to help me. I won't be able to use it while I am oversea. If it gets here Nov 1, it will sit here for 2 weeks until i return, sigh..... I hope they extends my warranty to 2 more weeks and make up the lost use time, haha. When I called today, the nice Apple rep send me a case which will get here 17th. Well, I guess I will look at the case while waiting for it.

Really ? Lol, I'm still waiting for my Gold that was ordered on the 20th.

I ordered on the 20th, still no phone. I was just saying, yes technically I'm sure there are customers who ordered on the 20th that got them earlier than expected. If I would of said no, than some person would've chimed in and said "nuh uh, I got mine earlier". You know how it goes.

I still have not gotten my phone yet either. Same ordered 20th. :(

Anyone else who ordered a gold on the 20th have any movement from "Processing Items"???

I spoke with an Apple rep this morning, asking about why people who ordered a few days ago received the exact same shipping & delivery estimates as people who ordered in the morning on 9/20. Beyond the typical "gold was the most popular color" stuff, he gave me the BS answer of "we sold out of all our initial stock, and so there is a large shipment of gold phones being made that will all go out at the same time. That's why the shipping dates are the same."

Are you kidding me? I told him I've seen many gold phones get shipped over the last few weeks, so what he told me is bogus. I understand these people are just trying to come up with some sort of explanation, but come on.

I'm so tired of seeing no movement, and seeing others who ordered last week get the same delivery estimates as me. Please, somebody give me some good news that your gold (32gb or 64gb) is now preparing for shipment???

Nope. Ordered on the 20th. Gold 64 AT&T. It hasn't budged since I ordered it. It is BS to see all these people on here (glad y'all got your phones and all) getting their phones who ordered days and even weeks after us. I'm just trying to understand what happened. Did they forget they had a new color line? I just don't know how one of the largest companies in the world can mess this up so badly.

LOL....loved this comment....especially since all of us on here are treating these phones like our firstborn child anyways...:)
