Thanks for posting. The charcoal is pretty close to the black leather loop.

Ladies and Gentlemen - you have a defector within the ranks of the edition owners.
Yes I am - I had the opportunity to purchase an apple watch at an amazing price.
Now don't get me wrong I absolutely LOVE my white S3 white ceramic.

Well the SBSS has caught my eye and I pulled the trigger.
What a beautiful watch it is. I truly believe this color should have accompanied the white. The grey ceramic just didn't do it for me.

Thanks for those pictures! The charcoal grey looks too close to black for me. Maybe if I didn't have the black loop already I would definitely get the Charcoal loop.

Hello all!
I’ve been dying to get my hands on the white ceramic since it was announced! Like obsessively looking online at the watch hoping I could talk myself out of it. It didn’t work and I walked into the store and just bought one. The hubby just shook his head but knew I was beyond delighted. I also bought the pink sand band, not the Velcro one. It looks so cute and girlie, which I just love. I’m sure all you men are rolling you eyes but that’s ok. Lol! I got my watch and I just love it. Worth it.

I am a little worried about swimming or showering with it. I know they say it’s ok to do so, but I just forked over some serious cash and would hate to ruin it. I’d love to hear any thoughts or stories you all have. Thank you!

Sounds awesome. I too pulled the trigger last week on the white ceramic. I have a Series 2 Hermès which I took in the shower almost every day for the past year and it’s totally fine. However, I just purchased Apple Care which is a good deal on the Edition. It costs twice the amount of the plan for the regular watch (129€ vs 65€) but the repair costs (without Apple Care) are substantially higher (849€ vs. 360€/320€/260€ (Stainless Steel/Sport Cellular/Sport GPS). Dollar prices may vary but you get the idea..

Whilst the Edition owners pay more for AC+, given the sharp difference in fixing costs, it feels like our repair costs might be "subsidised" by lower tiers?

I thought I liked the grey ceramic better than the white at first. I had the SBSS. The grey just looks really close to the black but doesn’t have the same black glass look that SBBS has with the screen and black bands. I’ve had a hard time with bands to match the grey.

I grabbed a white ceramic and I think this model and a SBBS is the way to go for contrast and good pop in appearance for both. I have the SBSS link band and the grey just doesn’t look good with it but the white sure does.

I‘m totally surprised how often I leave my phone at home now. With Series 3 + LTE, the only thing that I‘m missing when I‘m not at home is podcasts. If they add a podcast app in watchOS 5 (or open it for 3rd party devs), it would be awesome. (And maybe better battery life, because when doing workouts and streaming Apple Music it really drains the battery)

Since it‘s my company, I can wear whatever I want in the office :D:p

I completely agree! My husband and I were moving for the past two days and I kept leaving my phone at the old place. He was all freaked out about it and kept bringing it back to me, he’s sweet isn’t he. Lol! I truly didn’t need a phone at all for two days because of this beautiful little thing! So happy with it.

What would a white ceramic link band cost? I have the space black which goes great with the white ceramic but I’m curious.

For anyone that thinks the Ceramic Series 3 Edition is durable, think again.
Case on my white ceramic chipped when I bump the watch on my counter.
Took it into the Apple Store and they want $800, to replace the case! Yes I know I should have bought Apple Care. I dont have an issue paying $400 to fix, but $800 is a flat rip off.

Wow, it wasn't enough of a drop to break the screen yet it smashed the ceramic?!

I apologize because I know I am going to sound like a douche. I don't understand, you have no problem paying $400 but wouldn't pay $99 for 3 years of coverage and a $79 deductible?

Sorry......

It’s because they’re not going to fix it, I don’t know if they can. They’re going to give you a new one and I don’t know how much it costs to manufacture so maybe $800 without AppleCare is reasonable.
