Series 4 Pre-order thread

Ordered one GPS, 44mm Gold Aluminum Case with Pink Sand Sport Band directly from Apple and ordered another GPS 44mm Space Gray aluminum Nike edition from B&H.

The Nike one shows a Sept 21st delivery date but I don't think B&H will deliver faster than Apple
 
I know we can't go to an Apple store and buy a Series 4 until the 21st, but when will the stores have them for people to look at? I am debating about a SS Gold but want to see one in person first.

They say it will still fit (but 42mm bands only fit new 44mm Watch and old 38mm bands only fit new 40mm Watch)

B) because there was no way to get Black SS on launch day in America. Everyone that ordered as soon as the store went up was told 9/28-10/2. Hopefully that is a safe estimate and all of us that ordered SS 44mm will get them next Friday.

I’m in Canada. C$ prices and the only info I have from Apple is that they will both be delivered 9/21. Maybe that will change but as of now it still shows this on my order.

I wish you luck on that (with B&H)! It's always tough to tell with third-party sellers.

I had decided yesterday (after being convinced since the presentation I was buying) that I was just going to stick with my Nike+ Series 3. My fiancé coming to bed at 2:15 woke me up and in my half-asleep stupor I panicked when I saw the time and jumped into the Apple Store app and ordered my SBSS 44mm with a ship date of 10/5 - 10/12. Saw the confirmation email when I woke up this morning and realized what I had done but at that point I was like "Oh well. I want it and I'm not upgrading my phone this year so why not?"

Now that I'm at work I'm digging into options to see if I can get it earlier. Ordered the same model through Best Buy and although there was no ship date on the order page and the link they sent me to check my order status is broken, they charged my card for the full price so maybe that's a good sign. Verizon is telling me they don't even have the SS model which is bollocks because I'm looking right at them on their products page.

Strange how so many are seeing no available pickup at any store (including me) yet some are able to select that option.
 
Both the watches I ordered changed to ‘Preparing to Ship’ about 20 minutes ago. I ordered in the online Apple store through the app at 9:03, got the confimation e-mails at 9:04 and 9:05 am (Netherlands) and got charged at 9:16 and 9:29.

44mm space grey aluminium (GPS)
40mm gold aluminium (GPS)

I did not order an iPhone this year (first time since the iPhone 5 that I did not preorder it, I found the updates to my X too minimal). But I never got charged and status PfS this quickly before on any preorder.

I see the orders for Apple Watch went to 12-19 Oct. already, glad I ordered mine last night 10 min after they opened at midnight. I got the 44mm version gps only and it will be here on Sept 21!!! Can’t wait. I am upgrading from Apple Watch 2.
 
Had my order in for 44mm SBSS by 12:04 PDT and got the Sep. 28-Oct. 2 time frame. Meanwhile, I bought two black iPhone Xs's, had that in by 1:05 and they ship Sept. 21. Seems there's just very little stock of the SS versions. I wonder how that bodes for the future of the SS, given they killed off the ceramic. Not sure how I would feel about it being canned. Guess I would be ok with it if it meant I could get the sapphire display at a lower price.

Did you use their website? When I try to order they insist that I have to add a new line of service.
 
when do these typically go to shipped? i cant remember for the last time i ordered a launch day watch. september 20th?
 
Well I got screwed again, as usual. Set my alarm to be up at 3 a.m., was shut out of the Apple Store until 3:08, and by the time I placed my order for the 44mm SBSS sport band, shipping was Sept 28-Oct 2. On a side note, I wonder why none of the watches were available for local pickup? There are tond of stores in the NYC area and none were showing availability for any watches.

I see Best Buy has a few models you can pick up at the store on the 21st, I didn't have that option when I preordered at 3 Am

Both for delivery on 23rd

Easiest pre-order I ever had thru BHPhoto, never done thru them before. Preordered at 12:01 am 44 SS Gold SB Cellular. The only thing is I probably won't get on release day but I do get free expedited 3 day shipping but happy with just the experience and plus NO TAX! :D

who knows. same exact thing happened to me. i kept refreshing the app but it didnt go live until a few minutes after 3AM like you. i went through my favorites and selected what i wanted (same model 44MM stainless steel white sports band). i could've sworn I saw the delivery date as Sept. 21, but when I went through the rest of the order without ANY delays (I used Apple Pay), I saw that the delivery date immediately went to Sept 28-Oct 2. I'm a bit disappointed I wont be getting it next week but a one week delay is really no big deal either.

i went through a similar situation with my iPhone X order last year (week delay almost immediately after ordering) yet that phone arrived on launch day. im hoping for the same thing to happen this time around.
