I was able to get into the Apple store app on my phone at about 12:04am Pacific. I immediately ordered the 44mm silver stainless steel with white sports band. Delivery was already 9/28-10/2. In years past they've moved up the delivery date leading up to launch. There's a strong chance everyone will see their dates move up.

Thanks, just checked but the 44mmSBSS is not showing availability to ship or pick up.
Got in as soon as the apple store went live and was able to get 44mm Aluminum with seashell loop and a 44mm space grey with sports band for pickup on Sep 21.
Still wasn't able to get the gold one - wasn't sure about that anyway. might be a bit girlish!!

Odd, I ordered the same...probably closer to 3:10am ET and I got a Sept 21st deliv date during ordering and still showing 9/21 on order status page.
I ordered through the Apple app about an hour ago. Same config as yours. It also had the same shipping date you mentioned, but it had the pick up in store option for Sept 28, so I chose that.
First time watch for me. I’m on the fence about the size. I like all the info you can cram on the screen so bigger would be better for my poor near vision, but I’m petite with small wrists and wonder if the larger watch is too massive or if sensors on large watch wouldn’t function as well on a very small wrist. Have lots of newer apple stuff - IPad Pro, MacBook Pro, but hanging on to my dear gold 5S which is best iPhone design ever in my opinion. It’ll be a sad day when I have to set it down for good. Hope it interfaces OK with the new watch.

Finally! Got Gold and Black 44mm SS watches through Verizon this morning. Called a rep to ask and she found them and placed the order. 9/21 ship dates for both
Mine switched to ‘preparing for shipment’ a few hours ago, I ordered a 40mm aluminium in Europe.
Well..... I was quite excited that I secured a launch day SS S4 and paid via apple pay and then went to sleep. I woke up this morning and realized I paid with the wrong credit card :-/ The order is currently in processing but once it hits the next step its going to hit the card for payment and there will not be sufficient funds in it. I've attempted to call apple but the automated guy says the lines are to busy. I've tried chat but they cant help either.
Does anyone know of another way to change the method of payment without loosing my spot in line?

ATT came up about 5 minutes early so I was able to get my order in for September 21 delivery. Gold SS with sport band 44mm
I had a rude-ass rep tell me they don't have the Series 4 in stainless but I'm more than welcome to call back when I see that they're available.
I got into the website at 3:09 and had my confirmation for my 44mm aluminum with the white sports band at 3:12...in store pickup on 9/21. I had actually put the AW in my favorites and when the website went live, I was just able to add it to my cart and check out. Easiest on line ordering I have had with Apple.

My CC has only been hit with a $1.00 preauthorization charge, about a minute after I placed my order...weird that yours has been hit for the full amount for 1 of your watches.

The one with the full charge is arriving Friday, Sept. 21. The other two are still 2-3 weeks delivery. It seems the launch day watch is getting ready to ship.
Thanks for pointing this out. I was able to just place an order for a 44SS for 9/21 whereas my Apple order from 12:10am was for 10/12.
Since you've never owned an AW, I recommend that you try them on at a local Apple Store or other retailer before deciding. I went with the 40mm, since my Series 0 42mm is already borderline large for me. As for iPhone compatibility, your 5S should work (it even supports iOS 12), but you may want to consider replacing it for other reasons (speed, battery, etc.).
I have a Series 4 pre-ordered to pick up in store but was wondering if they'd let me trade in my old Apple Watch toward the cost when I go to pick it up or will the Credit Card be charged before.
