Series 4 Pre-order thread

Looking now, ordering one is at a 4 week delivery. I'll pass for now and wait. I'm in no rush to spend $600. :)

One question though. I've never had a watch yet. But if you have a phone and a watch, leave the phone at home and go for a jog/run, so where does "Find my Friends" show you're at?

If you have a cellular plan activated, it will show the watch's location. If not, it just shows the phone location.

My status is ‘preparing for shipment’ since yesterday afternoon. I am from Europe.

Does anyone know if they ship directly from their factories? I remember a friend’s Series 2 ordered on release date and it came from Taiwan I think.

Will Typhoon Mangkhut delay shipments out of China? Will UPS/FedEx planes be able to land/depart?

The fine print on my trade in said if I have any applcare+ left on my old device, they will refund it. But I want it applied to my new watch if possible. However they may get the old watch long before I get my new one.

They will need the serial number on the new one to transfer. If you don’t have it they will refund the money

I ordered my phone first (3:02) and by time I got around the watch (3:04 as you) I had the same result for SB SS with Sports Band. Switched to SB SS Milanese and got next Friday delivery.

I sold my watch on eBay last week for $325 (s3 with sport loop 42mm SG) it has Apple care but didn’t include it in auction. Called Apple and they refunded $25 which was the balance of Apple care left. They won’t let you transfer I believe

Interesting. Where in the fine print did you see it? I couldn't come up with it on Apple's website.

It's a reasonable question. Looks like it might affect shipments, but it all depends on which way the typhoon tracks.
 
I never thought my iPhone would go to preparing to ship before my watch. But here I am with my iPhone preparing to ship. My watch is still processing.

Anyone checking out Best Buy for the series 4? Seems as if they have the Nike watch readily available on the 5th
 
I preordered from AT&T and ended up getting an Oct 1-8 delivery timeframe due to app and site issues. They just authorized my card early this morning at 1:23 am EST, despite my preorder being placed Friday morning at 3:07 am EST. I wonder if my shipping date will get adjusted. I'm upgrading from a S0 42mm SS to a 44mm SS.
 
They must be counting on a huge production jump in the first few weeks, either that or the initial demand just dried up. I tried to get up at 3 to order a 44 SS and overslept (I still blame Siri :D ). Finally got the order in at 5am eastern on Friday with a 3-4 week delivery est. I just checked today, Sunday at 9am eastern and it's the same 3-4 weeks on the est.

I'm still hopeful for an earlier ship and I'd expect I would receive mine before someone ordering today but it seems, at least for the SS models, we're slipped out and shipments will only improve. Maybe I'm wrong.
