Interesting. Luckily Apples customer service is excellent! I wouldn't mind having a green line on my X in about 8 months so I can get a brand new device
You feel bad for customers who have to deal with it? You mean, take the phone back to be exchanged, free of charge, for a working, great device? Yeah, seems terrible!
Stuff happens with things like this. So what. It's a minor inconvenience at that, for most people. Apple will take care of it. Now if Apple blew everyone off and said tough titties, that would be a different story. However, thats not the case.
Move along.
Stop trying to blame the supplier. We don't even know what the cause of the issue is. Just because Samsung manufactured the screen, they did so based on Apple's design.
"Hardware defect"
So this is Samsung's fault, right?![]()

who else can supply oled at that volume?Apple should have known better than to buy Samsung displays.
It is that easy if there is an Apple Store in your country. I live in Portugal now and here it would take at least a week or two to get a new iPhone.
They been going downhill since they don’t care about the Mac line anymore and no vision since Steve jobs died.I am a huge Apple fan, love my 7 Plus, but this is just embarrassing and unexpected of Apple. I expect this many people having issues with 300 dollar smart phones. Not $1000 dollar ones. Hope Apple doesn't start going downhill.
Apple should have known better than to buy Samsung displays.
Really? People have had these phones a little over a week or so and they are failing?
Any considerable testing would have likely resulted in the green line appearing for Apple testers and employees as well, that’s just a given from the sample size of online users experiencing this so far.
Online about 25 ppl = real world, many many more people.
So which is it? Did Apple not test their device, or are they intentionally covering this up and went ahead with the release anyway (not wanting to push back a release and effect shareholders).
In a rational world those are the only two options. We could choose option 3 and believe that Apple thoroughly tested their devices AND never noticed this issue previously.
Which is dumber to accept?
20 defective units out of 3 million sold so far isn't bad.
And with the money Apple is making off each sale, the cost of replacing 20 or even 200 defective units is peanuts to Apple.
Not in 8 months you won't.Interesting. Luckily Apples customer service is excellent! I wouldn't mind having a green line on my X in about 8 months so I can get a brand new device
Well at least Apple is one of the best in the business for customer service

More or likely as Samsung makes the display screen or so I've been led to believe...
Oh, so now Apple is responsible for the great display, eh? When there was no problem, all the apple haters said we should thank Samsung for the display.
