Sold out millions in a few minutes after pre-order.
20 units affected that we know of.
Okay, next news topic?

So far. People have only had their units a week. Seems the problem is developing after a period of use.

It is a lot of trouble to have to book a genius appt, back up the phone, drive out there, spend time waiting, get a replacement phone (hopefully new?), drive back home, and spend time transferring the data to the new phone.
That is time spent that we shouldn't have to. Where's Apple's quality control? Obviously, their employees have been using the phones for a few months now. The issue hasn't appeared?

I'll be real, i got the 8 plus because of that god awful notch, but i was like, ok maby ill get used to it. I do like the idea behind face id, and the lack of the home button and fingerprint sensor i got mixed feelings about...but mostly it was that god awful notch that i was like...na.....

but even this morning, i was thinking to myself, maby i should just return the 8 and go for the 10! Then i read this stuff and im so happy i stuck with my 8 plus! When they do a plus size x with no notch, ill reconsider until then, happy beta testing!
So you won’t be reconsidering then. The notch is here to stay

Looks like a problem with the display controller circuitry.

Aaaaaand that what you get for buying the prototype. Apple hasn’t fully tested this device, millions of paying customers are doing it for them instead. Really a terrific business strategy, brilliant.

LMAO, and they had the audacity to claim they moved to OLED when it was absolutely perfect for Apple to do so.

Anyways, seems to be a recurring issue for Samsung OLED, although not quite as prevalent as already seen with iPhone X given only a few million units are shipped so far, perhaps its a manufacturing process that is causing it, who knows. Just that I am so over Apple's hyperbole that they do things better then anybody else when they are beholden to the same components every other manufacture is using.

Cracks me up seeing all the people who don't own an X bashing it every chance they get. "Oh no! 20 out of 3 million phones have a defective display! So glad I didn't ruin my life by buying one!" Lol, do these people even hear themselves?
That's true, but that'll never stop. There's plenty of Apple users bashing the competition for defects that affect a small percentage of users. Now that the tables have turned Apple users seem to get a bit butt-hurt. People need to stop with the bashing and enjoy their own device and respect others, but I don't see that happening any time soon. Also, the X is a $1000 device, so issues are bound to be magnified.

I could afford an iPhone X no problem. I picked up an iPhone 7 from a pawn shop at a very good price. Going to use the money I saved on to help pay for a trip to Greenland next summer.
Sounds to me like you couldn’t afford one if you want to go on a trip. Everyone has preferences. That wasn’t the point of my post. Try again.

Green line down the left-side out of the box

As someone who had to get his iPhone 6s Plus under Apple Care replaced twice and the 3rd unit still has issues, I really hope my X doesn't get a green line. These "new" phones they give out as replacements are garbage.

Yeah, I was disappointed to learn that they are actually refurbished phones. I should've gotten the tip when they came in generic boxes instead of brand new bubble wrapped boxes.

The green line really adds to the phone's 'amazing all-new design'. I guess this is what happens when people go out and buy a brand new product and not waiting until the second iteration.

No, it isn’t. You are kidding yourself if you believe that’s the aesthetic design Apple wanted. They had no time to do something else. Maybe 2 cycles of a notch, then an entire new redesign again. It looks embarrassingly silly.

And with that statement, you’ve made it abundantly clear that you’ve never used the X. The notch is not noticeable once you use the device. In some cases, it’s actually pleasing to the eye for apps where you are able to see time, battery, etc.

well youre in luck. you can pick up the phone and have one mailed right to your door

white box replacements this early in the game are brand new phones without the retail packaging or accessories. always have been. even late in the game replacements are most times better than new ones.

Absolutely ridiculous comment with zero basis in fact.

Really? People have had these phones a little over a week or so and they are failing?

Any considerable testing would have likely resulted in the green line appearing for Apple testers and employees as well, that’s just a given from the sample size of online users experiencing this so far.

Online about 25 ppl = real world, many many more people.

So which is it? Did Apple not test their device, or are they intentionally covering this up and went ahead with the release anyway (not wanting to push back a release and effect shareholders).

In a rational world those are the only two options. We could choose option 3 and believe that Apple thoroughly tested their devices AND never noticed this issue previously.

Which is dumber to accept?
