My launch day iPhone X bricked after 3 days and wouldn't boot past the Apple logo (no green lines though). Apple store replaced it on the spot and so far so good.

I know people are going to blow this way out of proportion because it’s Apple but let’s wait and see what happens first, if it’s just a few units then it’s within the margin for error BUT if it becomes a widespread problem then there will be cause for concern.

How widespread does it have to be for it to be considered a problem? It took Takata, the manufacturer of airbags, a few defective units for a total recall. As was the case for the Note 7. If its hardware, there will be a total recall. If it is software, it will be easier to fix.

Takes "courage" to put a green line on a display.. only Apple! But in all seriousness, they'll replace units that have this issue without a doubt.

There won't be a total recall. You can buy defective displays with this issue for all iPhone models online at around 50% off. Rather than tossing away the LCDs(for older models), the 3rd party factories end up selling them as B/C grade.

The color of the line varies among LCDs, but this seems to be only green so far.

Aaaaaand that what you get for buying the prototype. Apple hasn’t fully tested this device, millions of paying customers are doing it for them instead. Really a terrific business strategy, brilliant.

What are you talking about? something like 20 out of millions of sold devices have a component failure? It happens. Burn-in only sorts 99.99% of the defective manufactured chips. A few slip through and die later. I've purchased more than a dozen iPhones, and another half-dozen iPads, since version 0, and I've had to return several for manufacturing defects (no sound out of the earpiece, display glitches, broken wifi, etc.) Nothing new here.

Owners should embrace the green line. Just like the notch.

Green line is fine but the notch? I have never ever encountered anything as horrid as the notch. I almost fainted when I first saw it. I mean, is there right in the middle of display like a sore thumb! I think I am gonna put a plaster on it or something so I can not see it every time I use the phone. Apple should have just let the fat bezel on the top of the screen and call it a day. That's it. I have never heard anyone complain about fat bezel so that would have gone really well.

Or wait....! Maybe I should have bought the iPhone 8 if I didn't like the notch?

Happened on mine too. Cough.

Airbags are a safety issue, the Note 7 was exploding that’s completely different when it comes to safety. However I would say if we keep seeing more and more reports over time (just like we did the Note 7) then there will be a widespread problem. 35 units is VERY small compared to the millions and millions that Apple have been shipping since launch.

I have no issues with my Galaxy S8. Perfect display.
ultimately it doesn't matter who they sourced the display from. Any business knows (or should know) where the buck stops. In this case, Apple is the ultimate responsible party and it looks like they are doing the right thing.
This issue along with the temperature sw bug sure looks bad though.

They were being "Sarcastic." ;)

And with that statement, you’ve made it abundantly clear that you’ve never used the X. The notch is not noticeable once you use the device. In some cases, it’s actually pleasing to the eye for apps where you are able to see time, battery, etc.
You choosing to ignore it doesn't mean that it is not "noticeable" for everyone. It's an eyesore for many.

Seems the past few years (post SJ) Apple rushes to announce stuff to get the media buzz adding longer and longer lead times yet still can't deliver a fully tested & functional product even then.

Hasn’t impacted me (yet). Hopefully it won’t ever.

I have a 2017 MacBook Pro that pops every now and then while I'm using it. Something underneath the keyboard, definitely on the inside of the laptop is snagging on something and making a loud pop noise. I'm wondering if I should just ignore it or get it replaced before the warranty is up. An Apple rep online told me to reset the SMC. My computer shouldn't be making pop noises while I use it. So disappointed. My last one, 2010 model, lasted me 7 years, not a single problem and it still works perfectly.

It just seems like nowadays Apple's quality in some aspects has gone down in order to mass produce more and more. Seriously thinking about replacing it. Any thoughts? ;)

They’re so bitter that they couldn’t afford one, that they want to hate on anyone that could. People these days...
The people you are calling "couldn't afford" are the people who value money. They think that if they are paying $1000 for a phone, then they deserve to get the best. Not a compromised product.
[doublepost=1510333674][/doublepost]I remember everybody saying Samsung rushes products into the market and encounters a lot of issues in real world. Apple takes its own time to build a product so that it just works. Off late, it feels like Apple has been rushing products into the market too soon.
