Int'l shipment release

I have been tracking my iPhone daily. It was shipped 7/2. It arrived at a Fedex facility in Memphis TN on 7/4. It departed on 7/4 and arrived at the destination sort facility in Chicago 7/5. I live in a suburb of Chicago. So I figure it's now in my area and that it will be delivered by 7/7 or 7/8, which it probably will be. However, when I later checked the tracking I saw that it was sent back to Memphis and shows an activity of "Int'l shipment release". That doesn't make sense to me. I called Fedex but non of the office staff is working today. Can anybody explain this logic?

If yours is like mine and it sounds like it is... it never left chicago... its still there... its just means its cleared to be Imported in the US. Does yours say it left Chicago? Mine stays it is in Sallt Lake City but it says "shipment relases too" in memphis... but it hasn't left Salt Lake yet

So if mines still in Arnhem it's not going to be delivered until weds???

No, it doesn't say that it departed Chicago or that it arrived in Memphis. So maybe you're right.

WTF 3 Days to get from Arnhem to London !

Hey have you heard the latest? TNT are now using electric delivery vehicles this maybe why our iPhone's are taking so long to get to the UK from Holland ;):D:):apple:

 I did forget that they were using electric delivery vehicles :/ sigh :/

Morning.

Just checked the TNT tracker again this morning and it's arrived at my local depot at 4am this morning.

Is it perhaps too hopeful to think it might be out for delivery today - a whole day earlier than TNT said it would be delivered when I called yesterday?!!

Fingers crossed.

Perhaps Apple should have had a collect from China option! My phone is in Arnhem, reckon it is going to take 2-3 days to get to Newcastle now, I thought in the days of quick deliveries it should have reached me in half the time it is going to take.

Meanwhile people are walking into providers shops and picking them up off the shelf, very poor.

-_- Still stuck in Arnhem. Which sucks, because it is only a 2-hour drive from where I live. I'm literally waiting for it to be transported out of the Netherlands, through Belgium into the United Kingdom, where it will be delivered to Borderlinx, who will ship it back to the Netherlands.

My iPhone will soon have seen more of the world than I have.

I figured it would be shipped by Borderlinx by now, so I could have it on my birthday (tomorrow)… Guess i'll have to wait some more :p

have exactly the same but without the Liege and Stansted update. Hopefully my parcel is on that same route and my tracking page will be updated shortly. From the above I read that the phone landed in Stansted and will be on its way to their london depot. Not sure if TNT is able to sort all parcels directly from the airport.

Damn mine should have the same status as yours (stansted), but says it's still in arnhem.
Hope the information is wrong and my iphone is with yours, and will be delivered today or tomorrow morning as i leave the country for a few days.. damn apple! ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's not Apple's fault, it's TNT who are taking (at current estimates) just under a week to ship the iPhones on a journey with lengthy pauses.

Three days from Arnheim to delivery for example - we should have hired a truck and driven to Arnheim and offered to drive the rest of the way ourselves - would have shown the "there's nothing we can do to get them delivered any quicker" to be the lie it was.

But DO send a politely worded e-mail of complaint to Apple saying how unhappy you are with TNTs service and requesting they not use them in future. Hopefully Apple are aware of the magical mystery tour this batch of iPhones has gone on and shouting loudly at TNT. If enough of us complain it may get TNT to pull their socks up, but not sadly in time to resolve this farce.

When the iPad and iPhone launch days occurred, customer reps from the courier services (I think it was TNT but could be wrong) posted on these forums but TNT have been strangely quiet about this, except to tell a different Jackanory to each person that phoned to ask what was going on, and insisting there was nothing they could do to deliver quicker (funny, I thought this was the 21st century and 24 hour global delivery was commonplace) and oh, it's Apple's fault for not realising how slow TNT was.

A couple of years ago I had to put my posessions in storage for a month whilst I moved house. I was stupid. I should have just sent the possessions to my new address via TNT and saved myself a months storage fees.

Wiee out for delivery:

Mine is still showing as Arnhem Hub - In transit. I called TNT and asked if it will be at my local depot today given that flying it over only takes a matter of hours as proven by others in this thread, to which the rep replied - it's not coming by plane it's coming by road - great.

lucky you. seems like some of the parcels scanned during lunch in Arnhem yesterday were able to make it to the UK and even out for delivery. I hope my status gets updated with a similar message soon. Pls post back while unboxing ;)

TNT have had there part to play but they're not completely responsible for it taking a month for me to get a phone, ordered on the 16th delivery estimate is the 15th.

I would've been better off trying my luck with the shops or providers.
