It depends on what you are willing to pay. The mainstream iPhone won’t look much different from the iPhone 7. The iPhone pro will have a no bezel screen... but it will start out at $1200 (that’s for the lowest memory option). It also will not have Touch ID witch will dramatically hamper convenience... no matter how good face ID is. Banks also might not allow FaceID to be used with Apple Pay.

I would recommend keeping your galaxy. Hopefully Apple releases a competitive mainstream iPhone in 2018 or 2019.

I’ll probably just keep my 7plus or switch to galaxy for the first time ever. I’m not paying 1200 for a 32-64gb phone that doesn’t have Touch ID.... and no way in hell im buying a 4th version iPhone 6.... even with a glass back panel, it’s way outdated.

Assuming all of this true you make some good points.

I was thinking of getting 7S if there is one but I mean then again if the screen isn't that great what's the point???

And yeah I'd probably get the premium iPhone that's rumored to come out but no way I want to spend that kind of cash.

Imagine pulling at a potentially 1500 dollar device in the middle of a crowded with drunk people all around in a bar to take selfies...

Oh I forgot that I could do that?

Is the VR fun?

VR is in its early stages but I'm extremely impressed what they've been able to do with using a cell phone. VR is going to be the future. I bought a S8 on sale just to get VR because it was cheaper than going with a computer rig. If you have an S8 the $30 for the headset is a bargain even if you don't use it much.

I bought a Samsung Galaxy S8 because of the amazing screen and high quality front facing camera.

But other than a couple of good things it sucks!

Will the next iPhone have a comparable screen to the S8, and should I just wait until it comes out?

I did the same thing and went back to the iPhone 7 after 3 weeks on the S8.

I don't see the real point of threads like this unless there is a real question.
I hate the S8.
Should I wait for the i8?

Up to you. You have to use it. ;)

Roommate just got one (Target promo) and loves it. I will say it is impressive (I use a 7+).
As for the lag/crash/etc... highly unlikely. You won't see a high end device do that unless it is broken. The OEM's have gotten to good at their job.

I did the same thing and went back to the iPhone 7 after 3 weeks on the S8.

Same here 1 Week with S8+ and besides better reception of the Snapdragon 835 and better Radio my Note 5 is better at everything And went back to my Out of Contract Note 5 on Sprint. For 3 Reasons

#1. 16:9 aspect Ratio just works Videos and webpages pictures web-content just displays larger on a 5.7" 16:9 Display vs the 18:9 Skinnier taller aspect ratio forces everything to be skinny or small sized.
#2. Price. Sprint did not honor the $19.80 Price offered on their website for a 10+ year long customer with them Charged me an activation fee and charged me Full price for the S8+ $850 and would Not match any competitor deals.
#3. No Screen Protectors. For Some reason the Curved Edges have caused all screen protectors to be made differently speaking of Tempered glass. They do not fully adhere to the Display but only have adhesive on the side Edges Causing distracting halos and distorted views along the edges ruining its beauty. Since the main display is not fully adhered to the glass it causes poor touch detection and diminished colors. I really liked tempered glass screen protectors once they saved my Note 5 when a seat belt buckle whipped back into place quickly and caught my Note 5 and shattered the Display thankfully the tempered glass absorbed the impact and broke leaving the Note 5 unharmed.

I will patiently wait for the Note 8 and LG V30 they look like the best options. And wait for some Deals

Samsung screens are always A LOT better than iPhone screens. Back then a Galaxy S3 had a better screen than iPhone 4s. And it was even better than the iPhone 5s in the future.

The iPhone 8 won’t have a screen as good as the S8. No chance. Though overall, it will be a better phone due to iOS.

- DEX docking station- transform phone into a full desktop.
- Transfer any files between any devices via Wifi-Direct / BT. No additional setup/hardware requirement.

You can install second copy of your app here and it runs in its own seperate data space. e.g. you can concurrently run 2 copies of whatsapp (one for work number and the other personal) and get notify at the same time. Or setup another Exchange account to sync work email which is only viewable in secure folder.
-Game launcher - a separate environment to launch games. You can set sound, notify on/off, no accidental touches, boost performance etc
-Immersive mode - set the top status or bottom navigation (or both) to auto-hide to maximise screen area. Can set exclusion for certain apps. Can have floating panel with home, back, task buttons for easy one handed use.
-Set default app - you can set your own app to be default app to open different kind of files/data. Or change the soft keyboard.
-Shortcut - create shortcuts to anything: one touch direct dial/sms, directly open battery usage in Settings, open specific screen of an app directly etc. Place shortcuts anywhere - in homescreen, notification, side panel etc.

I've only had an S8 for a week and there is a lot I like about it. On paper it's a beast which indicates written above but I will say I've already had the device crash on me. iOS is a stable little guy though limited.

I have used my S8+ for over 2 months and it never crashed once.

iOS runs better on a 3 year old iPhone than Android does on a brand new phone.
I wouldn't go that far but my 6s+ runs almost as smooth as my S8. When you look at the specs the s8 should be blowing the 6s out the water in terms of speed and performance but its almost neck and neck.

I've had my s8 plus since launch and I have had zero lags/stutters with the software. It's been flawless and completely smooth so don't know how people end up with these issues...defective device perhaps? That said, I've jumped ship from the iPhone to the S5 and since then had the S6 edge, S7 and now S8 plus..I think I will be coming back to apple once my contract is up just to keep things mixed up!

Certain of these features are absolutely great, but it's also the reason why it's hard to get a lag-free experience, especially in a year or 2. My iPhone 6 is still pretty much butter smooth.

I wouldnt put lag free and iPhone together.

iPhone or iOS in this matter is designed to lag.

I only need one reason to pick iPhone over Samsung - having an Apple Store 5 minute away to deal with any issues and questions I have with all my Apple products.

Until Samsung opens a store everywhere and starts selling computers with their own OS, they can't compare.
