Agree with this. We get the updates first.
I actually sold my first Nexus One after owning it for only 3.5 days. It gave me problems but I only paid $100. Sold it back on Craigslist for $150 and it was bought right away. I had a bunk 32 GB microSD that also gave it more problems.
But last night, I felt I wanted to give it another chance and got a brand new one off Craigslist for only $220. Had the screen protection around it and everything was still wrapped up. I was lucky to find the dealer to give it to me at this price since most brand new ones cost over $300-$350 in other online places. And everything is fine so far. Only the bottom touch sensitive buttons can get annoying at times. But this phone is too sexy for even a nearly 2-year old phone that I couldn't resist NOT having in my collection and Android has great potential and can be stable if you kill alot of background processes.
Android is plagued with piracy, but if some people love to pirate and being a free loader like they do with their music and movies, the FREE apps that were are supposed to pay for are out there. Pirates galore! Plus, the way Apple moves with worthy upgrades is TOO slow for some people. Android keeps moving and there is always something new to look forward every month or so. With Apple, they make a worthy update every 2-3 years or so.
I feel the first iPhone and first Nexus had the best and most durable build quality. This Nexus One feels so solid in my hand. Google is going with Samsung two years in a row for the Nexus line. I hope the next Nexus phone after the Galaxy Nexus will come from HTC again or their recently purchased Motorola. HTC and Motorola use far better materials than the Korean manufacturers.
OP, if you want to be open-minded, I say go for it. I now use BOTH platforms to enjoy the best of both worlds and what they have to offer me. Don't let biased fanboys decide your answer. Only you can decide for you by trying it out. It is like having a favorite food. How did you know it is your fav food? By trying it out. What people call "regrets", I call "experience."
