I’d rather they don’t add the fragility of a glass back, but more important is that they don’t add curved front glass or the rounded sides of the bigger iPhones. The SE is better in shape as well as size than the newer models.

I'm guessing you don't own an iPhone X? And if you do, does the notch actually bug you when using it?

Most of the notch hate seems to be from people who don't even own an X and just think they'd hate it

The other argument could be that they don’t own a X because they hate the notch. Personally I played with a X for hours and the notch never disappeared. It’s like emperor’s new clothes.

Touch ID was the best addition to the iPhone ever, for me at least. Face ID is a step back in so many ways, and so is the loss of bezels. The X is the least comfortable iPhone Ever, so i’m not remotely interested in edge to edge displays.
In what way is it the least comfortable? I just don't understand that at all...

It's easily the most fluid experience I've had with any iphone. I just don't understand why you would WANT bezels :S

To me it's like going from the iPhone 3GS to the 4. After the retina display there's no way I could go back.

Now whenever I use an old iPhone it just seems so ancient with the bezels...

It will also need the battery replacing every year! Otherwise it will grind to a halt!

Use a piece of tape and create an artificial notch on your existing iPhone. It's annoying! Apple created the notch so of course it's the best notch ever created! But if Apple continue making phone with notches I won't be buying.

It's just notch for me! :)

Sigh. The notch isn't additional to the bezel - it replaces the bezel, and gives you more screen real estate than the bezel it replaces.

When tech is replaced by something better or more convenient your argument makes sense - I've seen plenty of examples of touch-ID being faster and more reliable than FaceID so perhaps it's not there yet?
I guess. But in my expierence Face ID is faster and more convenient when wearing gloves in the cold.

I can’t easily use it one handed for one, control centre being at the top is uncomfortable. The X is my least favourite iPhone to use in almost every way. That’s why i’m glad the SE exists as it gives choice.

So, in summary:

1. Everyone should find the iPhone X the most comfortable phone, because you do.
2. Everyone should shun bezels, because you don't like them.

Who needs freedom of opinion anymore?

And less convenient when I wake up and want to turn off my alarm without looking at it. Or if the phone is flat on the table. Or when I want to pay for something and not have to move into frame. Or any number of other instances.

Alarms are turned off without having to unlock, and you're gonna be looking at the phone when you're paying with Apple Pay anyway.

The only valid one there is when it's flat on a table.

An updated SE would be a good news!
The A10 is good, and I think the glass back will be there to enable QI accessories, including the one they'll release this year. I guess they'll keep TouchID this time and maybe save FaceID for a third version of SE with edge to edge display

Hmm seems like an pointless update to me if they do this that will only push its price up, and no doubt Apple will make it so they can only replace the back glass for a small fortune.
But then again at least it would point to a redesign of the phone.

The odd thing about this rumor is the original SE was designed to have less features given its lower price, and so the SE2 having the latest features doesn't really jive. Space inside the small form factor is at a premium and I'd rather see them add other things, like force touch instead of wireless charging

Latest feature, like wireless charging that is available on much cheaper Android phones for years now?

I don't consider wireless charging a premium feature, and actually after having several phones with wireless charging, they take far longer to charge and don't seem to charge as well over time compared to just simply plugging them in, as Apple users will eventually discover about this exciting "new" feature.

1. Everyone should find the iPhone X the most comfortable phone, because you do.

I didn't say that lmao. I simply asked why they didn't find it comfortable. Learn to read you tool.

Either way clearly the iphone X is enormously successful so most people are with me on this... so why do you think it's so strange for me to be confused that someone would find it the worst iphone to use when so many people think the total opposite?

Next time I won't bother asking people why they have their opinions! :)

Exactly... and even then the main apple rivals (i.e. google pixel 2 XL, samsung galaxy S9 etc) have the fingerprint reader on the back and so it has the exact same problem.

Yeah it’s so successful all analysts are downgrading it’s predicted sales....
Hardly a success story, especially at a grand.
It’s not the most comfortable either by a mile, because it feels like a mile when you stretch to bring down control centre!

Gah why are you all discussing the X anyway? The SE does 97% of what it does for about a third of the price!

I've been waiting patiently to get rid of my 6s and get the "new" SE because I loved the one-hand-holdable form factor of my old 5s (but not the performance).....I hope Apple doesn't screw around with the SE2 and make it thinner and round the edges (slipperier)...if they do, then I don't know what phone I'll upgrade to.

Apple's notch with Apps updated look great. Apps that have not been updated show less space so you don't see the notch. Creating your own notch will look worst than iPhone X's notch with optimized or non optimized apps.

But if they keep the terrible display contrast why bother? The biggest downfall is the SE's display and I'm not talking about size.

That is immaterial, because it is a premium feature for apple

No but apple does, in promoting its iPhone 8 and X

I would argue wireless charging isn’t a premium feature but a latest feature. The only reason wireless charging is on the most expensive iPhones right now is because they’re the latest iPhones, not because they’re the most expensive.

Similarly, the A9 could’ve been argued as a premium chip, except that Apple put it into the cheapest iPhone six months after it was in the most expensive iPhone. The A9 was a latest feature, not a premium feature. The more expensive mid-range iPhone at the time (iPhone 6) had a worse processor and camera than the cheapest model.

Please don't. I've been waiting for some upgraded specs to buy one, but if they will be as fragile and with a similar absurd design as the higher end iPhones then forget it.

Lol the samsung galaxy s8 was called a huge success and even with this 'downgraded estimates' the iphone x has still sold AT MINIMUM 50% more than the s8 did in the same timespan, and at a much higher pricepoint. Yeah... not successful lmao.
