..i'm sure it'll be a real hoot for you.
Some of those made sense, others didn't. Not sure what point you're trying to make. Are you trying to say other nonsensical gray names somehow validate space gray? Is that like the blind leading the blind? Also sort of irrelevant to me since space gray is the name that makes my retinas itch. Sort of like the misappropriation of retina.

Even if Apple chose a silly name, they at least could have limited it to 1 color. Seriously, which space gray is space gray? If it was actually 1 color it probably wouldn't even bother me as much as it does.

Mission Control... now that's a color I can get behind.:)

Please keep Space Gray, I get that color on as many products as I can. It's my favorite and the only one with the black bezel.

Looks sharp.

Where do these rumors start? They aren't dropping the only color way with a black glass front after adding the color to the iPad and MacBook line. File this under completely not going to happen. If anything they'll add this color to the lineup choices but not take another away.

Black/Grey/Space Grey has always been their #1 selling color option on iPads and iPhones, I doubt they will remove it completely from the lineup. I can't imagine any scenario where that's possible, unless there's an even lighter/darker grey/black also offered.

Is it just me or have other people started to notice the lack of innovation from Apple in the last few years or so?

Remember DEC (Digital Equipment Corporation) when they were sliding down the slope of techno death? No new products just repackaging old products with new looks and names....

Remember SUN Microsystems when they were sliding down the slope of techno death? Solaris? SunOS? (sound funny kind of like going from OS X to macOS?)

It seems a different color of iPhone is irrelevant when it comes to call quality, functionality, usability and ease of use in the real world (yes I do know Steve Jobs isn't around anymore). But take a look at the "new" iTunes interface and the "new" iOS 9.3 screens. Have you ever tried to get the pop-up bluetooth connection screen to come up on iOS 9.3 while say walking? or driving? or doing just about anything except sitting at a desk? Now how useful is that? The old control at the bottom of iTunes or in an audio app was much more functional. I doubt this kind of random "innovation" (and that's a stretch) would have gotten through the Jobs test.

So yes Apple keep changing the colors, new cases, move the controls around, change the fonts on the screen, and your sales will continue to fall. Keep watching your profit margin and bottom line by recycling old technologies and assembly systems and your fans will move on. It happened when Steve Jobs was fired and the innovation slowed and Apple almost went under. I really felt the drive Steve Jobs had was tempered by Tim Cooks knowledge and financial prowess. Now it seems we just have financial prowess it seems.....

Apple is planning to introduce a "Deep Blue" color option to replace the Space Gray color option for the upcoming iPhone 7, according to a new report from Japanese website Mac Otakara. The new color will stand alongside the already available Silver, Gold and Rose Gold.

Mac Otakara says Apple plans to discontinue the "Space Gray" color, which was introduced with the iPhone 5s in 2013. The lighter shade replaced the darker slate black used on the iPhone 5. The color has since found its way to other Apple products, like the iPad Air, iPad Pro and 12-inch MacBook.

The Cupertino company has steadily added color options to its iPhone lineup. In 2008, Apple debuted a white color option alongside the black iPhone 3G. The company later renamed the white option Silver with the iPhone 5s, which also saw the debut of the Gold color option. Most recently, Apple added the Rose Gold option with the iPhone 6s.

The report also says the iPhone 7 will keep the same LCD glass surface that current iPhone models employ. This corroborates an earlier report saying that no major display upgrades are expected until 2017, when Apple switches to OLED.

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 7 this September, with recent rumors suggesting the new iPhone will have a design similar to that of both the iPhone 6 and 6s and more radical changes coming to the 2017 iPhone. However, the iPhone 7 may not include a 3.5mm headphone jack. Additional features for the iPhone 7 could include a faster A10 chip, waterproofing, adjusted antenna bands, faster LTE and Wi-Fi chips and more.

[doublepost=1465533890][/doublepost]Wow. Tim Cooke is really innovating.

Space Grey is definitely my favorite product color, so I'd be disappointed if they got rid of it. With that said, the blue looks really nice.

Why would they drop the only sombre color that suits people in conservative business attire? Dumb.

I hope it's not true about the space grey being dropped (I'm pretty sure it's fake, but still).

I buy nothing but black and "dark sliver" products and I'm not reading that tradition (then again, I did have to break it with the smaller New 3DS (that only comes in white)... :().

Space grey will stay, they will probably introduce a space grey rMBP and air laptops. The blue could be added

This is a marketing strategy. When people see my iPhone 6+ they immediately ask me if it's iPhone 6s+, cos from outside there is no difference.

Space grey is the top selling color. If there won't be any design change on iPhone, iPhone 7 will NOT sell as many as 6 and 6s. The only way people can show off their "new" iphone would be if it was a different color than 6/6s.

Apple is targeting space grey by making it an obsolete color, to push more people into "upgrading" to "dark blue". If everyone has seen the reports, 50% of iPhone buyers don't upgrade their phones for 2+ years.

edit: Oh, and I won't be surprised if Apple introduces a new iPhone color every year making the newest iPhone more distinguishable on sight

But people upgrade their phones because of colour?!

I don't see them dropping space grey UNLESS they're replacing it with a true black, like the 5. With that said I would welcome the blue if it's going to be abother black front option. Every new color edition seems to favor the white front, I'd like to see some options with the black. Ideally I'd want a true all around black model.
