Sketchy Rumor Says Apple Will Add 'Deep Blue' Color for iPhone 7, Drop 'Space Gray'

Space grey is going no where, if a colour was at risk it's silver as it looks dull/boring now.

whilst the blue looks brilliant, I can't see that happening either what is interesting is the amount of 2017 iphone rumours in the wild, it just seems odd.
 
We need MORE options with a black front, not just a different one. I do like the blue, but would like to see them keep space gray or a darker gray/black too.

Possible, but hard to know that with any degree of certainty. Colors are trends and are planned well in advance; also Apple's obsession with thinness is well known so their up and coming laptop line will be thinner too.

Two things are apparent to me tho, a) that Zenbook is definitely a very attractive notebook, and b) Apple lately seems to be so preoccupied with things other than computers that the latter category coming from Cupertino, in spite of all the thousands of talented workers and Apple's plentiful resources, can no longer be considered state-of-the-art, trend-setting, market-leading or whatever you wanna call it.

I still prefer their products for built-quality, ecosystem, and excellent warranties but, to be blunt, I sometimes think Apple could use a new visionary.
 
Come on MacRumors...Apple is not going to release a new design this year and then a "radical new design" next year! They are are 2 year cycles, you know this, why would you give those rumors any validity?

If the tech doesn't make it this year on the iPhone 7 , it won't happen for another 2 years until the release of the iPhone 8. 2017 is for the iPhone 7s, come on now.
 
Maybe, to make the blue one sell, they could make it a special edition with a bigger battery and the power button on the top.
 
I wouldn't mind seeing the dark blue color but I can't see them dropping a main color. And if they add the blue color I want it to be with a dark front. I get a little annoyed that Apple only gives the black from to the space gray iPhone and iPod touch. I would have bought an iPod touch in the blue color they offer if the front was black not the white front they offer only. I wish customers had a choice between the dark front and white front for iPod touches and iPhones.

Did I miss something regarding the black front iphone? I didn't see anything that indicates that this blue back iphone would have a white front. I would assume that if they drop the space grey/black model, they would replace it with a blue/black model.

At least that's how I read the article.
 
So if the rumors turn out to be true there will be no Space Gray / black option and I also won't be able to use my nice wired headphones with the removal of the 3.5 jack w/out some BS $75 proprietary lightning adapter that Apple will sell. I don't want fancy colors, 3 mm thin phones, or proprietary headphones. Granted Android phone makers are headed in the same direction, but at least USB-C will catch on. I hope the Space Gray rumor isn't true at the very least. That would be a big mistake on Apple's part. They are not that stupid. If all this is true I will have to turn to Android for my next phone (or hang onto my 6S as long as possible).
