If 8.1 doesn't fix the issue I'm gonna switch to a Surface Pro. Since 8.0 I can't really use my Ipad Air or Mini anymore. Almost everytime I have to toggle wifi On/Off to make it work. I have tried everything found on the internet... Nothing worked.
Even my Iphone 5S has issues with the wifi.
It's seems that the only device working properly is my Iphone 6...strange.
They even ****ed up the performance on the Air pretty bad.

I had wifi issues with all of my devices on iOS 8GM AND HAD TO SWITCH TO 2.4Ghz to fix it. Since 8.0.2 they have all been working fine on 5Ghz.

I'm running a new time capsule with ac. Also have no issues now with BT home hubs 5Ghz or any other access point so far.

Well, you're a lucky man. Mine are still not working. Everythink else using the same router works flawless...

You shouldn't have to toggle at all. I'm sick of this issue. Time for a class action lawsuit. Apple would fix this ASAP if they thought they would have to pay for people's overage charges.

Agreed but let's give them time to sort the issue. Hopefully it will be resolved by the release of 8.1. If not I'm taking my apple hardware back to the store.

Give them time?? Are you kidding me? How long? They released already 2 updates for iOS 8 and the issue has not been fixed yet...

How's your Beta 2 going. I have read on other reports that its completely solved the issue and no drop outs are occurring anymore? Are you having a similar experience?

Has this wifi issue ever happened before?

More importantly, can I expect it to be resolved? If not I am going to return my 6 and keep my 4S, this is ridiculous. A $700 device should not be slower than its 3 year old predecessor.

Care to explain in details whats issues are you having with your wifi???

My iPhone 6 has faster wifi speeds than my 5s, 5, or 4s did.

Perhaps there's an issue with your current wifi connection.

This is all assuming that the issue you are referring to is wifi speeds, as you did not make that abundantly clear..

My wifi is significantly slower and intermittently not working at all. I have to browse on my 4S. Do some searches, this has been widely reported.

Pperhaps the unit is defective, as I have no issues with wifi on my iPhone 6. I'd take it in, see if Apple can test and possibly replace the unit.

On iOS 8.0, my iPhone 6 seemed about the same speed on Wi-Fi as my iPhone 5s.

On 8.0.2, my iPhone 6 is the fasted phone I've ever used on Wi-Fi.

It is not defective. It is affecting iPhone 6/6+ and iPad Airs. There are about a million threads about the issues here on MR and on Apple's support forum. Hopefully it will be fixed in an update soon because it makes using the device painful.

My 6+ had terrible wifi speeds until I switched it from WEP to WPA2. Dramatically different after that.

My 6 is faster than my 5 and 5S. One of the first things I noticed at both office and house.

OP needs to find another WiFi and see how it works. Some older WiFi units may not play well with the 6.

OP, yes this has happened before for a percentage of people with past updates.

As for timeline of fix, I'd guess fairly soon however the cluster$&@% that was the 8.0.1 update has probably encouraged Apple to be a bit slower (and test far more) for the next update.

Cool to hear. The Wi-Fi networks at my house and at work are both WPA2, maybe that's why I never noticed it.

WPA2 seems like a much better way to protect a Wi-Fi network. Wonder why folks still use WEP? Something they setup 5 years ago and it's still running, so why mess with it?

I don't think 8.0.1 ever saw a developer beta (like 8.1 is going through now), did it?

8.1b2 hasn't helped at all for me. Bluetooth and WiFi still refuse to work *at all* on a brand new iPhone 6.

I'd wait for 8.1. My iPad Mini with 7.1.2 had no issues until I updated it to 8.0.2.

I've too noticed lagging wifi on my iPhone 6 and on my iPad Mini - each running 8.02. My issues are 1) it Sometimes takes several attempts to get a connection with Netflix. I've tried to delete the app and reinstall - doesn't help. 2) Facebook pictures/videos won't always load right away. I usually have to close out of the app and go back in to fix. I have 2 available wifi's at home. I've found that switching from one to the other helps. So far, I've been less than excited with iOS 8 - too buggy!

Wifi speeds on my 6 Plus are amazing. But I do notice that sometimes my phone will drop the wifi connection, and will not reconnect. I have to turn Airplane Mode on and off, and then it will reconnect to wifi. Seems like a software issue. I hope 8.1 will fix this.

My problem was solved by switching my wireless encryption from wep to wpa/wpa2.
Nothing else worked but this did, like night and day.

I'm on 8.1 beta 2 and wifi still stalls regularly especially on 5ghz. It only seems to affect my iPads and not my iPhone. I am finding I can't load Facebook or a simple webpage without toggling or changing access point.

I have also had wifi problems on my mac with yosemite although since doing the latest yosemite update tonight its been ok.

Its very poor tbh. Apple always seem to cock up with wifi although this has to be the worst problem in my time with apple products.

this wouldn't be an issue if they just let anyone who wanted to switch back to 7.1.2

I tried windows 8, i switched back to windows 7 without an issue. Apple should allow their users to switch back if they want to, its year 2014 for eff sakes, technology should allow a choice.

There would be no way to put 7.1.2 on an iPhone 6/6+. The WiFi issue primarily affects the iPhone 6 and iPad Air which uses a similar Broadcom chipset.
