I think nobody is answering because.. well.. Its against the terms of license, and probably illegal (n)

Dont be silly. Im not doing anything wrong. If the cd/packaging is completely the same then im just avoiding the postage delay - im not trying to deceive anyone. Returning a sealed retail pack is not illegal - its LEGAL!!!!

Aren't you saying you want to return the UTD disc passed off as a retail disc? Cos that's ILLegal! The EULA for the UTD disc is not gonna be the same as the EULA for the retail disc. I know what you're doing isn't really immoral, because both discs are exactly the same, but you're returning something that isn't what you bought! It'd be better to borrow a friend's disc, or even torrent it I think...you've got a license, so it doesn't matter which disc is used...

So you think that is a reasonable reaction to a cd not being delivered on time then?

Typical....

You miss the point entirely and spectacularly. Those in the UK have paid £7.95 for 'post and packing' for UTD. For this £7.95 it seems Apple have delivered using a method that must cost less than £1.00.

You're being a bit overly dramatic there aren't you? I got the point, I don't think you did. Would you return a whole computer because of having spent £8 on a cd which arrives a few days late? No I didn't htink so.

I would not personally, no, but some people would. I guess if all depends on your expectations. First impressions count...

Then again, being a savvy buyer, I would not purchase a new computer a few days before a new OS release!

You're passing it off as another product for a refund. It's like me practically taking a home-built PC into the apple store, stick an apple sticker on the side and say 'I want a refund for my £2500 Mac Pro please'.

If you're so desperate, you can probably get a refund via apple for your UTD disc if you send it back to the online store, but you'll only get your £7.95 back.

You wanted it so bad... Tough luck.

Expectations are set way too high I think in this case, and his first impression was made when he bought the computer, to think all it took to reverse that was a £8 item. Very flippant if its too be believed.

Try to be also more respectful in the future.

I have never been intentionally disrespectful. If you are of the opinion that I have been, then I apologise.

I just brought SL from apple as i doubt ill get my copy until next week.

Can someone tell me does the upgrade one come in the full retail packaging? Cellophane wrapped? barcode with price on it?

I want to be able to put the barcode from one to other and return it when it comes and install SL tonight.

Thanks.

I got an iLife 'Up to date' disc in the past and it just came in a paper sleeve, and if I remember correctly the disc is slightly different than the retail one too.

Your response is immature. You sound like a super straight assed nerd - relax, wash & get perspective.

"Home built pc as a £2500 mac".... silly ... :p

No desperation, just creative LEGAL thinking.

Silly.

And if a PM is true, and i assume it is, the all UTD'ers get a full retail pack minus the barcode, which i can transfer & refund - job done.

End.

Mines Here!!!! As of 8.10am Saturday Morning

Did postman**at require you to sign for it?

Because if so i'll have to actually keep looking out the flat window to see when he bothers to deliver to our street.

Mine arrived this morning via royal mail. Oddly it's in a brown jiffy with the return address of a company called Syncreon Technology in Hinkley.

Postage is 2nd class, too. What cheapskates! But at least I now have all day to have a play.

By the way, I'm in Surbiton, SW London and didn't have to sign for it.

posty just shoved my snow leopard family pack though the letter box no signed for sicker on the brown envelope

return address
Syncreon Technolgy
Watling st
Logix Park
Hinkley
LE10 3HZ

so they are shipped by 2nd class letter post by RM

Sorry

My UK UTD order has arrived today, unfortunately I was out and have to go to the PO to collect. I didn't pay any extra shipping charge.
I'm in Bournemouth, FWIW.

Hello. After responding to a couple of PMs, I'd better just state that I went to the PO to collect, and it wasn't Snow Leopard at all, it was something else I had ordered which was completely unrelated, and had forgotten about.
I made an assumption based on what I wanted to believe.
Maybe in today's post, we don't get ours usually until after 10am, so we'll see.
Sorry, everybody.

Snow Leopard received in Cheshire

Same as reported - in a jiffy bag and no signature required. UTD comes in a sleeve - not full retail box.

Great, today seems like the day

Unfortunately I am going to lake district and wont be able to collect it. How was it delivered people? By the postie? Did it need to be signed? Or did he just shove it through the letter box? (i hope)

What was the packaging like? Was it a thick box because i doubt a think one would go through mine

So many question, anyone please reply

EDIT: Just read above and had my questions answered
