I don't think the international release of a flagship product from a multi-billion dollar corporation based in the USA would be influenced in the slightest by the fact that a few of us in England, Wales and Northern Ireland have got Monday off work.

I mean in the UK. Jesus do people need everything spelling out for them. Leopard SP is a flagship product?

Yeah but then you'd have the UK guys going 'OMFG Why do we have to wait 4 more days than the rest of the world to get Snow Leopard?!?!'

Personally I don't think there's any issue with the release date myself, more Apple's handling of pre-orders. They should have made sure they got to people for launch day, that's the whole point of preordering stuff.

The late delivery has probably only affected a couple of hundred people. Obviously it seems important to you because you are one of them, but overall to a company like Apple it doesn't really matter enough to disrupt a global launch.

And yes, Snow Leopard is an important product for Apple. If you don't think it's that big a product, why are you so upset about not receiving it yet?

It arrived this morning (SL box set)!

Done a full time machine backup, copied wanted files to another external HD just to cover my back.

Formatted my internal HD. Now in the process of clean installing, 29 mins to go!

I foolishly got it delivered to my office assuming it would arrive on launch day as Leopard did >_<

Ah well, at least that means come Tuesday evening I'll know what problems to expect ;)

I don't mind waiting as long as it comes, I'm just a bit miffed that apple sent me an e-mail advertising SL saying "in store or at your door on August 28" it's now the 29th and no sign.

I got mine this morning about 10am (live in hertfordshire). Easy install, took around 30 mins and loving the new Exposé!

Mine arrived this morning as well. Only bit of post and I was a bit worried when I heard it but didn't hear anything heavy on the mat :p

I'm impressed so far. It's given a nice speed bump on my MacBook Pro and freed up about 10GB.

Mine arrived this morning by the royal mail. Can't wait to install it!

Unfortuantely at work, so got to wait later till I can try it :(

Mail just been and no Snow Leopard. Quite disappointed actually. Hopefully, I'll get it on Monday as this Bank Holiday does not affect Scotland. I guess it depends how far through the mail system it has got.

Is this correct? If so then this could be good news for me :)

My work is treating it as a bank holiday so I just assumed it was a national thing.

gah. i ordered mine within an hour of snow leopard going online, and i still haven't received mine yet. the postie has been and gone.
i'm starting to think some twunt has lost it.

who else ordered theirs on the 24th and still hasn't received anything?

SL arrived here by post in the North West. Install was not without glitches on my iMac (the installer froze, had to pull the power, then the computer booted from the DVD and resumed installaiton) but at least I have it!

All good so far and seems a bit snappier. The install gained me about 16 GB of space (although I guess most of that will be the recalculation of space from base 2 to base 10).

Received in this mornings post. Three days from Leicestershire to Sheffield. Did the postman walk all the way?

Installed and have quickly run all apps, hardware and run through system preferences with no issues except an small temporary glitch with my ageing printer. Not really pushed things enough to see if much quicker. 5-6GB extra space on the hard drive than before. :D

You've got to be kidding me.

I also live in Hertfordshire and I did not get mine. Please tell me it's delivered by a man in a van rather than the normal post, so there's still the possibility that I don't have to wait until Tuesday (since the normal post has already arrived)

My Mac Pro is outside the UTD window, so I've ordered the full retail upgrade version - which is back on Amazon for £22.99 btw!

Personally, I would've been quite happy to download SL from Apple... I know it's a big ol' file, but that's why I pay for a fast, uncapped broadband package! :D

Lets keep our differing opinions about the value of SL to ourselves. Postman Finally delivered Both retail and UTD.

Only tried the retail copy. Fully installed on a blank drive. Took 30 minutes from inserting disk to restarting once process complete. It's faster in 32bit mode, but in 64bit mode it flies faster than Force India did around the Spa GP track just now. Haven't tried anything really taxing yet, still re-installing application.

Also as someone else noted, My multifunction device also scans straight in SL now. These little touches have made a difference and will impress everyone. Not just those jumping from Tiger to SL.

Apple lied, it doesn't make it snappier, it truly does make it fly. Hope everyone else finally gets their copies at some point today.

EDIT: I've just discovered that the European copies of SL are manufactured in Ireland. So why in the name of all that is holy are they sending them hundreds of unnecessary miles to the Netherlands?
