I think it's pretty much safe to say that NOBODY in the UK who ordered through the Apple website has received their SL disc today.

Not in the slightest. I've read a couple of people saying theirs have been received. The majority haven't, but some have.

It irks me no end that Apple doesn't seem to grasp that people who pre-order an OS are usually the sort of geeks who REALLY want it for launch day and should therefore put in place a delivery method which will get it to people on day 1. My copy never arrived this morning either, so I've got a copy from the Apple store in Belfast - I'll just wait until my postal copy arrives then return it at the store.

It happened to me with Tiger too, it never arrived on launch day either

I've read one from a guy on here, um ToastBoy or something in Glasgow. However it turned out that he thought he had received it, but then called up home only to find out the package was something else.

I didn't get it either, ordered on the day it was available on the store.

Disappointing, but I'm not off work until Tuesday so it's not that a huge deal for it to be late for me.

I'm really upset cos I've got this first:

and then this:

so probably nothing today :(

i ordered it as soon as it was announced and still nothing. why didnt apple allow us to preorder at the same time as the us rather than 4 days before release so they had an idea on how many to create.

i was sick of waiting so i ran into the apple store in glasgow and there were a load of them

installed in under 30 min i reclaimed 40gb back which i believe came from the drive itself when i installed it the other day it only showed up as a 465.62gb compared to todays 500.11

i will say that there is nothing really special about it but then again it's 25 quid for 40gb of free space and a load of little touches, it isnt really that bad

Just spoke to the Manchster Arndale store about the possibility of me purchasing a retail copy and then returning my Up-To-Date disk when it arrives and I was informed that this would not be possible. I could return the Up to Date disk but that would just get me £7.50 back, leaving me £17.50 out of pocket.

As someone mentioned above the ones who are going to pre-order are likely to be the ones who are most interested in updating early. I even purchased a Time Capsule yesterday with plans to update all machines to SL and then kick of backing them up today. Not looking like I'll get to do this for another week now :(.

I'm still putting a little hope on it arriving tomorrow though. According to the website, SL has been shipped. If it arrives by a standard packet and it was sent out either on the 26th or 27th, it could possibly arrive on Saturday.
My guesses are that it got sent out by apple to these G3 WORLDWIDE people on the 26th, they arrived on the 27th, then they get passed over to Royal mail today and maybe tomorrow we shall hit the jackpot?

/hope.

Nothing here in the North West.

I assume that tomorrow's postal delivery will run as usual, despite it being a Bank Holiday weekend? It's just Monday that will be post-free?

Bah, no sign of mine today.

Annoying, 'cos I've got my mini and mbp all set for clean installs.

That's a very sweeping comment on what could be considered an American-centric forum.

People on some other forums I go on received their SL dosks today and they are in the UK. Don't kmnow if it was the UTD program or not, but people in the UK have been receiving their SL orders

EDIT: Forgot to say, my UTD order didn't turn up either. Not blaming Apple though. I mean it's not a genius delivering my order

Hopefully one day Apple will get a clue and release major OS versions for download to the end-user as well as shipping physical media.

News flash: It's 2009 and other OS vendors have been doing this for quite some time now Apple (cough, Microsoft, cough, Linux distros)

Your in maccelesfield aswell and havent gotten it aswell. Exactly the same story here, i only pre-ordered because i didnt want a trip to trafford center and wanted to get it on the first day

I was hopeful of having Saturday delivery, but hearing that RM are on strike in London means it might get stuck there if it has to pass through?

Sod it. I'm off to download the torrent, and if it doesn't turn up tomorrow that's what I'm installing. I've paid for my license, so I'm not going to lose any sleep over this.

All this negative energy for something which doesn't change much really. If the reseller I went to didn't have it, I would have simply waited till they did.

If I were any of you, I would just be patient and wait till tuesday now, trust me when you guys actually get to use the software you'll be wondering why you bothered complaining in the first place.

Its nice to have but thats all. Life goes on.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8900/4.6.1.199 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/301)

Just picked my copy up from the reseller in merry hill. They had plenty left.
