The family pack of Snow Leopard I ordered from Apple's online store has shipped and is scheduled to arrive by 3:00pm tomorrow. I pre ordered it on Monday night.

I got an email earlier today from apple saying my order had shipped... and i only put the order in a few days ago.

It stated that a signature was required on the checkout page of Apple's website when you pre-ordered.
Once it has shipped and has a tracking # online you can go to the tracking page and "sign" for it online so that a sig won't be required at delivery.
my £25 disc was shipped yest...got the conformation email and the order status change early hours this morning.
i think apple wait a few hours after shipping before changing the status.

Oh, I see how you thought that's what I implied. I have no idea myself. I think internationally we have quite a few that have shipped but in the US most are still "Prepared for Shipment" or "Not yet shipped".
Apple UK are no better. I ordered the Tiger family pack from them, which was "guaranteed to be delivered on the release date" according to the young lady I spoke to after placing the web order. I then received an e-mail saying it would be a week after release that I would get my copy. In the meantime all the Apple resellers down Tottenham Court Road had it in abundance.

Mine is still 'not shipped' according to Apple.ca but spoke to a rep and she stated mine being sent out already. She admited the delay in the info in the website due to numerous orders but she assured me that I will be getting mine tomorrow! 😀

wow that sucks.... i'm really hoping this doesn't happen tomorrow. Many thing in the UK i've ordered have been delayed shipment - GTA IV for example i got a month after release, and i pre-ordered months in advance. while my friends just bought it in the morning of release :/
In the UK we usually get crap shipping times and then we have to rely on the royal mail to deliver it. oh well - universal health care helps 😉

It is meant to be a bank holiday weekend(no mail on Saturday) so they may indeed be playing it safe but September 2nd feels like a long ways of.

I ordered the 24th and I still have "Prepared for Shipment." I'm not sure where exactly they are shipping from, but I'm not really sure how exactly they plan on getting it to NH by tomorrow.

There should be mail services all over the UK apart from where there's strike action happening.
No mail on Monday due to the Bank Hol.
There is post on Saturday in the UK, what are you on about? Just Monday is screwed though.

Hopefully that'll work out fine. Thankfully I don't need to worry about having to sign for it or anything, so that's one less thing to worry about.

Well i heard we would not be getting mail on Saturday due to the bank holiday, perhaps a local thing or miss information.
I ordered June 18 and still have not shipped yet either. I'm slowly starting to lose hope of it being here tomorrow.

Yep, mine shipped today and should be here by 3pm tomorrow. Though, there is another thread for this already...then again, I've been guilty of starting dup threads myself so I'm not one to talk. 😉
This whole process has been one giant cluster****. From the releasing early, to poor handling of the announcement, to the entire shipping process. I met the deadline to place my order last night, yet I have to wait til September 5th. Talked to an Apple rep and explained how they should honor the email offer and she said go to my Apple store...problem is Tampa store is closed down for renovations til September 18. How smart is that? Instead of fixing my problem, rep went on and on about how awesome and revolutionary SL is and how the demand is far greater than Apple expected and that Apple thinks it will outsell Windows 7. WHAT???? She was serious.
Between the crap updates for FCS3 and SL, Apple doesnt really seem to care or has severely missed Jobs running the ship. I vote for the latter.
