Snow Leopard Shipping? [merged]

I'm remaining somewhat optimistic.

I'm an U-T-D customer who ordered in June and I'm a little upset by the situation. Apple said it's packaged in a wearhouse don't expect it until next week but I'd like to remain somewhat optimistic after my 3GS didn't ship until like 7pm PST the day before release.

I can say I don't necessarily think I'm better than anyone but if we're being delayed for full retail purchasers, that's incredibly unfair. I feel we should've gotten our copies before not after.

And of course the way I show my anger is contimplating just buying a copy for 30.00 at my local Apple Store.

I'm an idiot what can I say.

I know, huh! I have about 4 solid options (right here in Boston, Chestnut hill, Natick, and Burlington (my favorite...but I think they're remodeling right now)).


I just figured I'd have it here first thing tomorrow. Oh well, I guess I'll try and be optimistic and start backing up my stuff...
 
I was wondering if anyone with more experience in the matter could tell me at what point I should call customer service?

I placed two orders at around 9:30 a.m. on Monday. One for Snow Leopard, one for a hardware accessory. The order said they'd ship separately as they became available, and the accessory said it would ship within 24 hours. 2 days later, it still hadn't shipped and I finally got an e-mail apologizing and saying it would ship within 24 hours, and it would be delivered either today or tomorrow. That was almost a day and a half ago, and both parts of the order STILL haven't shipped! It's not been 3 and a half days since I was first told 24 hours, and I'm having serious doubts as to whether these are going to show up tomorrow when they haven't even been shipped yet. It's kind of annoying.

So at what point do I call?

You're not alone! However, my girlfriend needs a copy too. I'm contemplating purchasing my copy tomorrow at my local Apple store here in northern California and giving the UTD copy to her. That's how I justify my purchase :D

Pre-ordered my retail upgrade monday and it shipped via Fedex Priority/Overnight from Memphis. It's already arrived in my state. Can't wait until tomorrow!
 
I'm an UTD customer and the Apple Track My Order page shows my order as being dispatched on the 26th and sent to my local Royal Mail depot on the 27th.
 
So not this "G3 WORLDWIDE NETHERLANDS BV" nonsense as your assigned carrier then?

What the heck??? Why aren't New England's shipping today? It's 7pm local time, so I'm sure all couriers are no longer picking up orders. What gives Apple???
 
I was told that their order status website might be having some issues now. She also told me that if mine doesn't arrive tomorrow, I can get it for free! :D

there is a shipping warehouse in ontario...im having a copy shipped to my old address in montana, and it shipped today out of ontario, so i would think yours is still on tap for tomorrow ;)

Mine still says that it will be deliever tomorrow, yet like you I am in New England and I have yet to see any confirmation of shipment. I will be quite sad if Snow Leopard does not arrive tomorrow. :(

Actually, I think you will need a signature. Indirect means you will be able to pre-sign for the shipment online. Direct requires a person to be there to sign for it.

Sorry, what I meant by not needing to worry about a signature is that it is being delivered to my college mailbox, and the people in the mail-room will sign for me and put it in my box. So I won't need to worry about having to be at the door when it is delivered.

No it wouldn't show up on the page before you get the email. Apparently Apple's whole system is bogged down on updating. My order status page didn't update until I got the email. And like I said it had been picked up at 5 this morning but didn't show it until 2 this afternoon.

I'm in NH and didn't get my confirm until after 6pm. So there is still time.

Most are probably shipping from PA.

Ok guys it looks good. I just got off with an Apple rep and she says we all should be getting Snow Leopard tomorrow even if we haven't gotten confirmation yet. I don't know about the rest of you, but I will sleep better tonight. :D
 
well all of you that did not get screwed, I hope it doesnt work when you go to install. :mad:

That way we all can be screwed together.
