Microsoft makes crappy products and they constantly copy Apple's innovations. They deserve to be laughed at. My girlfriend just got a new MacBook to replace her Windows-Piece-of-Crap computer.

Your reply is rather vague still... I feel I need more clarification as to which products you are referring to, and as to what actually makes them "crappy".

People like you make me want to get violent. You are such a fanboy that you are too blinded to see that Apple copies just as many ideas from MS as MS does from Apple. The worst thing about this is the Apple misses out on copying the best features of windows while MS copies the best parts of osx.
Get your head out of Job's bum and stop being a fanboy.

You do realize this is a Mac/Apple forum, right? What did you expect to find here, MS evangelists?

Of course not, are you incapable of seeing a middle ground or is your life so fanboy-centric that you fail to realize there are merits to every OS? There are a few people on here that realize neither os makes the other obsolete. They each have their purpose and each offer a set of tools the other doesnt offer.

A pretty obvious one is Time Machine. Its a blatant copy of Shadow Copy which was introduced in SP2 of xp for consumers and was also available in server 2003.

Ms copies apple and apple copies ms. This is a good thing. Could you imagine what it would be like if windows and osx had zero similarities and each had only their own ideas? It would be impossible to use either os.

Actually, Time Machine and Volume Shadow Copy don't work the same way. They're not copies of one another but rather complementary if it was possible to use them together. In fact, this is one of those situations where both tools are inadequate by themselves but would be brilliant if paired together somehow.

I don't know much about how Volume Shadow Copy works, but I do know that it isn't designed for use on an external drive, unlike Time Machine which requires one. That's the biggest difference between the two.

Shadow Copy works fine on an external drive and Time Machine will work on a separate partition.

I'm sorry for being so rude earlier, but what has Microsoft done that makes you stand behind them so much? I just speak from experience. I can't stand using Windows and doesn't make me a fan-boy (even though I probably am a fan-boy). I hate Windows and MS products because I don't like how they work/don't work. For the record, I also think Country music sucks because I don't like it and I think there is better kinds of music out there... does that make me a rock-fan-boy? People like what they like and I like Apple.

This is a much better response.

I stand not by the company but by the products. I use Windows, Mac OS X and Linux based OSs on a daily basis. Each os has its own uses, I wouldn't dream of gaming on my Mac, but I will on my Windows based PC, likewise I now use some tools on Linux for video editing. Each OS, to me anyway, is merely a means to access tools in order to complete a task. I don't care which I use as long as it helps me complete said task in the most efficient manner possible. My issue lies with those attacking Windows, for example, not because it is necessarily any worse than OS X in completing a given task, but just because it is made by the "dreaded" Microsoft, or because it is anything other than an Apple designed product.

Just because you dislike how Windows works, doesn't mean that it offers zero value in terms of features to someone else, it also doesn't mean you need to slag Microsoft off at every opportunity.

I dont stand behind MS, i just point out the glaring faults in faboy's arguments. If someone pointed out something incorrect about Apple i would correct them too. Saying that MS does everything wrong is a very uneducated statement to make, regardless of you opinion on windows's usability. I am what you call a radical centrist. I like both windows and osx equally and i absolutely cannot stand someone who goes around bashing one of them.

First off, Microsoft doesn't suck, its good, I prefer OSX, but be a bit open minded, stop hating :p, PCs are really good, if you wanna save money and get the best performance. You could save tons if u got a PC.. I made a thread earlier about if I should get an iMac or a PC. Look at the specs :p its priced at the same price as the cheapest iMac.. So you see PC's are great too. I'm actually going to be getting that iMac instead of this awesome pc, main reason is because I already have a PC and always wanted a Mac since i was a kid..

Anyways sorry about not keeping it on topic, I just don't like it when people say PC's suck or Microsoft sucks..

Aside from that I thought Snow Leopard was already available for servers?

No the server versions are released at the same time as the consumer versions. Snow Leopard is no where near done, the server version is probably along the same progression.

Upon looking at iLife 09 i am sure we are looking at a more black theme.
Evidence:

In Leo those buttons (under the track names) are the gray gradient buttons like you would find in safari or finder.

Of course, if you look at this pic the Play/FF/RW/Rec buttons retain the gray feel:

I just hope its not the same as Leopard's UI. Aqua is getting stale, even if it is good looking.

The newest iTunes and iWork interfaces are very clean and neutral, absolutely unobtrusive. The unified interface of 10.5 was a step in the right direction past aqua/metal, but it needs to evolve.

*Specs and price*

Did you made it yourself? That way it's completly different. Also, Apple do not sell computer with desktop grade chips. The iMacs use notebooks chipset instead. They're two different generations of techs. This computer must be 1 or 2 months old, while the iMacs have at least 6 months with old technologies. And the cheapest iMac in canadian price is $1,299.00, by the way. And you don't get Mac OS X, which is the primary point of getting a Mac.

This is pretty exciting! It will be nice to see Aqua disappear in my opinion. I hate how sleek and clean most of the interface is and then an Aqua button or scroll bar shows up somewhere. Bring on Snow Leopard!

Such as?

Spotlight actually. The first OS to be introduced with an built-in desktop search engine was in a Windows Longhorn alpha or beta seed in I think 2003, before the name Vista was known to the public. Apple was "just" faster to have it on the market with Tiger, than MS with Vista - and does it in a better way ;). If apple had planed the feature before anyway, they didn't announce it at least. So from the audience point of view MS was first here.

Spotlight replaced the old Sherlock, which was fast and integrated too. Windows Desktop Search still isn't as capable as Spotlight, and Redmond is playing catch-up yet again.

Regardless of who copied who (and yes I do know that MS does most of the copying), Apple still manages to pull almost every feature off far better than anything you find in Windows.

Yes, dear. And keep telling yourself that Finder couldn't learn a thing or three from Windows File Explorer. (And the fact that most of the "open" and "save" dialogs in Windows are really File Explorer windows....)

Yes, Apple is far better, and costs far more.

Repeat until you feel good about paying the Apple tax for middle-of-the-road hardware at top-of-the-line prices.
