I got a T-Mobile pay as you go SIM for testing and so for I've gotten better data speeds on T-Mobile than on Verizon (V-14mb T-21mb down). Makes me wonder why I'm paying Verizon's premium.

I did the same to compare it to ATT. Based on the coverage and speeds in my area my wife and I will likely be moving our phone service to TMobile in the near future. Better speed, and less money every month. Seems to be a good idea. :)

While I can't confirm as to weather the speeds on Verizon iPad Air are better because I have yet to use my Verizon sim, I did the same thing, I got a T-Mo sim for the free 200MB and it's been great. The LTE speeds have been a strong 10-15mbps and I have driven all around my city and have had no issues with coverage. I expected T-mo's 4G LTE to have very limited coverage but it's been great. :)

Ya Verizon is costing me an arm and a leg, its getting old. Its my third highest bill compared to my house and car. Granted I have 3 Phones and an iPad but still it just feels wrong. Plus on T-Mobile I can get higher speeds and more data for less money.

My thoughts exactly. The reason I have held on to ATT is that my wife and I both have the grandfathered unlimited data on our iphones. However, she rarely even hits 2gb and my data usage has gone down a lot now that I have wifi at work.

On top of that, when I do use a lot of data it is throttled anyway, which is what TMobile does, so it won't make a difference.

I'm almost always on WiFi. Even when I'm at home my routers placed so I can pick them up in most of my yard. I've considered turning off the WiFi just to use some of the data I'm paying for but then I can't control my TV or DTV boxes.

Got my 32 gig mini by ups today, i hate ordering these type of things by mail, the box felt warm from sitting in the ups truck all day in the Miami heat.

Anyway, screen looks fine, which is a relief after what happened with my wifi version (had to exchange several times due to yellow screen tint on bottom quarter of screen, then another one had dust under the screen or dead pixel). This was really a no brainer, for the same price as a wifi mini you get the option to use data whenever, and can cancel whenever you want and just use it as a wifi version anyway. So glad i was still able to return my wifi only mini to best buy, I had really wanted a cellular mini the whole time but didnt want to pay extra...

By the way, everyone and their mother is taking advantage of this deal. My coworker bought one too, and when she was at the UPS place picking up a case she had ordered for it, she heard the guy in front of her picking up an ipad from tmobile. They are going to make a killing off all the new customers they get...

You will probably get more money if you sell on eBay.

My iPad is on the UPS truck. Hoping he gets here before I head out of town for the weekend.

I am on the free 200mb plan and ran out of data the other day. I got a popup saying I was out of data and my LTE was no longer usable.

However, I did not go to my account page to see my options yet since I don't really need more data right now.

Are you able to use JUsT the 200MB and not pay for any plans?

I just got a 64GB ATT LTE air on Cowboom for an incredible deal so hoping I can throw some free LTE on there

Yes you can. You only have to have the paid plan with T-Mobile if you finance the iPad. I had the free 200mb on my Verizon Air.

I ordered two from Tmobile. Both arrived with significant dents in the edges of the iPads. I returned both and will keep my wifi iPad mini retina for the time being.

Is it really unlocked?

Hey…. Thanks for all of the good info here.

I have been researching if I can put a Verizon sim in the T-Mobile iPad ? Is Verizon still being jerks about it? Can I just take my Verizon sim out of my Verizon iPhone 5 and use that if i need to?

Conflicting answers everywhere. I just don't want to get stuck with T-mobile if it sucks, I'm in Denver and I understand that is one of their "important markets" so I am not expecting problems.

It sounds like you 32gb phone people are fine with a 16gb? I can't decide. I have the 32 phone but that is for music. I won't have music on the retina. Just apps and reading. Is 16 enough? Does it get slow if it is almost full?

The only thing besides the sim issue that is holding me back is the credit check?! Why…. it I am paying full price. Hate giving that info out!

Thanks in advance!!! :D This is such a good deal. Plan is to get rid of the phone as I don't use it except for the web. Save lots of $$$$

The credit check is required because you're NOT paying "full price". It's a special priced deal. Paying in full upfront (if that's what you meant) still requires the credit check because you're paying below the street price and you have to start a post paid plan with T-mobile.

So is T-Mobile's iPad Air finally shipping? A T-Mobile store told me yesterday they would have it available soon... but couldn't give a date.

Also... would the basic 1 GB plan for $10 monthly make the Air available for the equipment installment plan? $30 total per month for 24 months is kinda tempting especially with the 200MB free data per month added on.

I have a 32gb iPhone and have had two 32gb iPads. I went with the 16gb rMini to save some money. It is working well for me. I stream all of my music and video now so my storage needs are lower.

This is exactly what I did too! :)

Ugh, just noticed my iPad has a loose home button and a chip near the headset jack. If I didn't have to work today I would exchange it. Guess I shall be doing that tomorrow.
