I liked the 13.3 I had, it was an awesome little bullet. I did however miss the 15" screen on the MBP I sold so I ended up taking it back for a 15" with a dedicated graphics card.

Im thinking of doing the same thing, did you get charged a restocking fee?

I just got one and it is absolutely amazing. I will never purchase a pc again. The engineering put into this machine is unbelievable. Don't worry about the "small" size....it is plenty big. There are ZERO negatives yet...and trust me, I am trying to find ones worth noting. So far this thing is downright perfect.

Love it......BUT

Exchanged a recent 2.4 purchase in store and paid the difference for the 2.53 MBP 13.
Got it home, was hit with a dead pixel, my father exchanged it for me whilst i was at work, got home and the new one had a dead pixel too.

Going to go back and change it today and open up the new one in store. The machine has been great, just kills me when these anomolies occur.
Anyone else been unlucky?

Best wishes

So many happy MacBook Pro 13-inch users. I saw one at the local apple reseller and it's a gem, the only way I can describe it. I'll be a happy owner soon now - very soon!

I absolutely love mine. I'm coming from a 15 inch PowerBook G4 (which is now the wife's). It gets about 6+ hours of heavy use. Very fast and snappy. It runs very cool too. I can run it for hours and still comfortable keep it in my lap.

My only dislike (and something I may have to get used to) is the multitouch track pad. With my PB, I used to rest my thumb on the mouse button and move around with my index finger. Now, with no dedicated mouse button to press, and with moving my index finger around, it has been causing some pages to zoom in/out when I don't want them too. Is there any way to disable the pinch zooming on the track pad? It's driving me bonkers.

i want to know to! i ordered a 13.3 mbp online but i'm worried i won't be happy with the screen size and its not even in my state yet lol

I've got my MBP 13" on Monday - I really like everything on this device. But I'd really prefer a matte screen!

I have used MultiClutch to disable pinch zooming for Safari and Mail.

No, I just asked them nicely to waive it and told them I made a mistake going for the smaller screen compared to what I had just sold.

You exchanged it because you had 1 stuck/dead pixel? I though there had to be a few for Apple to exchange it? I've got 1 stuck pixel, right on the dock. I've tried a few methods but nothing has worked so far.

I may take it back then if you had sucess.

As far as I'm aware they exchanged my MBP under the 14 day return policy and not just because fo the single stuck pixel.

I'll be making sure the next one is clear before leaving the store.

I bought my 2.26 13" MBP last Saturday and love it. The screen quality is excellent and the backlit keyboard is awesome. Tonight I'll be fitting a 500GB HDD and 4GB RAM.

picked mine up last night and am loving it so far. LOVE the trackpad and now am just looking forward to snow leopard to come out for it

Hey all,

My first post! :)

This is my very first Mac ever, and thus far I must say I'm absolutely loving it! The build quality of the MBP feels brilliant. I went for the 13" due to the small form factor, and really glad I did - it's really nice and light compared to 15" laptops I've used in the past.

I'm a "switcher" I guess in that I've always used Windows, though dabbled a bit with Ubuntu before taking the plunge for the MBP. First impressions of OSX are good, if very different to what I'm used too. Expose is a great feature with the track pad. Getting there slowly! See you all around the forums! :)

Hi everyone. I bought my 13"er last Thursday. Its the 2.53Ghz model. Was reluctant to buy this model as I do a lot of work with audio recording and my number one priority was QUIETNESS, and thought the 2.26 might be better suited in this respect. However I'm extremely relieved to report this baby runs cool and SILENT. A massive improvement on my last portable mac - a Titanium 1Ghz G4 which would fire up the fan periodically, even when idling. In a week of heavy use I've heard the fan kick on only once, and that was for less than a minute before it started winding down and off completely again.

The new LED backlit screen is GREAT, makes the regular LCD screens look like a joke in comparison. The glossy screen looks great INDOORS, but take it outside in daylight and its a complete FAIL (unless you love to stare at your reflection instead of the screen).. that's the only negative I can say about this machine. The inclusion of firewire 800 is what i was waiting for to upgrade. NO serious bit of kit uses usb for audio/video or sustained throughput, and i wasn't about to ditch my brilliant external firewire gear to accommodate the previous MBPs..

ON every other level I love this machine. Its lightning fast, for example i had it decoding a 1080p quicktime, while scaling and doing some colour corrections on the fly. At 3x speed. And the cpu utilisation was below 20%. Final Cut and Shake fly. Multitouch takes some getting used to, but I love it! Overall, one could easily say its the best implemented computer I've ever owned!

2.26ghz

Love it!

The Backlight keys
The Trackpad, a necessity now.
The SD card reader, loaded up my pics nice and easy, I can stow away my usb card reader now. less cables.
The speed - can't wait for snow to improve this as well.
The size
The screen
The craftsmanship.

All I need to do is upgrade the HDD and add some ram and I'll be truly content. But as it stands, I'm more then happy.:)

I purchased my 13" last week and I am so happy that I did. I had previously used a 15" macbook pro but this new one blows it out of the water. Personally I prefer the glossy screen over the old matte, and I have no complaints about the quality of the screen or any dead pixels. The biggest improvement is in the trackpad which I adore.

The only gripe I have is when the icon pops up for the backlit keyboard. I normally only have it on 1 or 2 ticks. And when I leave the room for a random errand, I like to shut the display down and the keyboard. However, even when the backlit keyboard icon goes to 0, the keys are still lit and it requires an additional tap to go dark.

This is just annoying, nothing serious at all since I just have to add extra taps. But do other people experience this?

I've had my 13" 2.26 since last Wednesday. It's a really great notebook. It's *almost* the perfect replacement for the 12" PB. My only wish is they would have reduced the border around the LCD and make the footprint smaller. Other than that this notebook absolutely rocks! I use it for dj'ing and I have not had a single issue with it at all.

Which 15"? I have the 15" 2.4 Unibody (Late 2008) and I could never agree that the new 13" "blows it out of the water." For starters, the 15" has a better LCD panel than any of the 13" Macs. At least mine does anyway.

I have a few gripes:

- No Matte screen option
- Vertical viewing angles could still be a lot better
- Large footprint due to large screen bezel
- 4.2lbs is the absolute max weight a 13" notebook should be. Prefferably it would be under 4lbs.

Other than that, it is all good.
