So... No white iPhone 4?

Because investors and reporters care about two different things. Yesterday after announcing their quarterly earnings, Apple allowed investors/analyst time for a Q&A session (so that they can better forecast future sale numbers), and tomorrow after Apple is done announcing their new products, they will allow reporters time for a Q&A session, just like they have in the past.
So that is why Apple had a table full of White iPhone 4's during WWDC, because its coming to Verizon and they were just giving everyone a secret heads up (even though it clearly says AT&T on the top corner).
Probably going to wait until my 2g completely brakes.
If anybody asks about the white iPhone 4, Apple is probably just going to respond by saying "Later this year" just like their press release. I think that's why nobody asked at the earnings call. Also, they said they do not speak about unreleased products on the conference call. So there is a chance they will use that line as well.
I think it's too late for "later this year". They would need to get it out soon. The earnings call is also for investors, the white iPhone is a big deal with profit margins, so none of them care probably. Tomorrow is a press event, so someone is bound to ask. Also, Apple doesn't discuss unannounced products. The white iPhone is announced, just not released.
Yep. I'm thinking that Apple may choose to give a status update on the white model, since it has been 2 months since the last one. It really could go 3 ways:
- Total silence. Apple may choose to say nothing, not answer questions about it, and essentially ignore the issue until they choose to release it, or until the iPhone 5 is released.
- It's coming soon. Either in time for Christmas (it's very possible, they could go with a snow theme in marketing), or perhaps early 2011.
- It's cancelled. This is, honestly, my bet. Everything I've heard (or not heard, specifically) leads me to believe that Apple has decided to wait on a white model until the iPhone 5, and is simply saving face at this point.

I think that would be silly. That's like having a black blackberry for at&t and a white blackberry for verizon.
That would also be a fantastic way to make customers angry.
Totaly agree, if anything is ever changed between models at all it's subtile, like (as example blackberry) key color or something small, not a entire exclusive phone color which would piss a lot of folks off.
Not that anyone cares, but, for me...the best part about the white iPhone 4 (and why I want it) is because the home button appears to have a ring, or a 'lip' if you will around it which makes it look nicer to the eye and probably easier to feel if it were in a pocket or in the dark. I also like the white lip around the edge of the phone. It just stands out nicer and I wish my current ip4 had that in black. I'd trade phones for a friggin lip around a home button. That's pretty sad. LOL
If it's cancelled why is the Apple store website still riddled with images of the damned thing?
Thank god there is a sensible person in this thread. My two favorite "conclusions", 1. It's cancelled. Or 2. It's a verizon exclusive. I LOVE when people come to these BS conclusions.
Yeah, but it's really anyone's guess right now. I mean, if the real issue is that the white faceplate doesn't match the white home button, then it seems like that's an easy fix, something that shouldn't take 4 months.
Wow, a bit angry there? They don't have to formally cancel a product, they just have to stall until next July (maybe earlier).
I find it hilarious that people are still "holding out" for the white. Keep on holding. Hell by the time you buy one you will have it for about 5 months and the new iPhone will be shipping. I wish more people "held out". It would make getting the 5 that much easier. Keep fighting the good fight!

So just because the iPhone 5 will be 5-7 months away makes the iPhone 4 less desirable?
I find it hilarious that people are still "holding out" for the white. Keep on holding. Hell by the time you buy one you will have it for about 5 months and the new iPhone will be shipping. I wish more people "held out". It would make getting the 5 that much easier. Keep fighting the good fight!

There is still a chance someone will ask one of the Apple higher-ups that are walking around the floor about it, although I doubt any concrete information will be given out.
